Harry Potter: The God of Magic (BEING REWRITTEN)

---THIS STORY IS CURRENTLY BEING REWRITTEN--- (Disclaimer: the first few chapters are a little rough due to me trying to find my footing with this story but after that, the story cements itself as in my opinion a pretty good one. and let's be honest, there is way worse out there lmao. Enjoy!) 'Why? Why must this go on? When will it end?' these words were the first thoughts that a "new" baby had. Alaric Reinhardt has lived through countless lifetimes, reincarnated every few centuries. the baffling thing is, he keeps reincarnating into the same bloodline. From the dawn of man to the height of the roman empire, to the discovery of the Americas, he has seen it all. It wasn't until he was reincarnated into the 11th century that he realized he was in the world of harry potter. After countless times of being reincarnated, he has finally made it to the 20th century in Britain. How will he live this life, will he stay secluded, will he venture out and make a name for himself, only time will tell, and he has plenty of it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi guys, this is my first attempt at fanfic, if there are any grammar, spelling, or even issues with the harry potter continuity that I didn't purposely change, please tell me. With that being said this is a slight AU, there won't be any giant changes like Harry's parents being alive, no, they are very much dead. with that being said, a character or two or an event or two might be slightly changed for the betterment of the story With that being said I hope you all like my story!

Stripes and Padfoot

Theodoric XII is a man who has seen death many times over, a man who is steadfast in his beliefs and will do anything within his power to keep his remaining family alive.

He loves and cherishes his family, so it is no surprise that when one of the servants came running in with an urgent expression with news that his grandson was having a magical meltdown so to speak, he without hesitation vacated his study and ran to the lawn where his beloved grandson was.

Sitting across from the man, was Sofia Reinhardt the older sister to Alaric, She had just been demonstrating her newly trained ability to control her fire magic, the element that she has the best affinity for.

She, like her grandfather, utterly adores her younger brother and would do absolutely ANYTHING for him to make sure he is happy and safe.

So the second her grandfather ran out of his study towards Alaric, she was right behind him matching him step for step as they ran out towards the lawn.

...

--With Alaric--

"-ric"

-aric"

"alaric"

"Alaric!"

"ALARIC!"

"Huh, what? fuck!" exclaimed Alaric as he grabbed his head which felt like it was about to implode on itself.

"Language!"

*whack*

Standing beside his grandfather was a lady who from the memories he got from this life, is in her late fifties, has worked for his family all of her life, and she is the primary caretaker of him and his sister, along with their arithmetic and manners teacher.

"Please refrain from hitting him before we figure out how he's feeling Helen." said an old man with ashen white hair and piercing golden eyes who Alaric could only guess was his grandfather Theodoric

(picture of Theodoric --->)

"He's awake!" yelled an excitable young girl with snow-white hair and golden eyes who guessing by her age and looks was his sister Sofia

(picture of Sofia --->)

"Ouch! can you be quieter!" voiced Aalric in frustration and pain

"No! not after what you just did you deserve some pain!" said Sofia with an angry pout

". . ."

"Oh, who am I kidding come here, baby brother!" Sofia said while diving towards Alaric and hugging him as tight as a boa constrictor

"you- ack! you're choking me!" exclaimed Alaric in panic

'I once reached the pinnacle of magic, and yet I'm being squeezed to death by a little girl.' Alaric thought while mentally facepalming

"Sofia, can you please release your brother?" asked their grandfather with his usual even and neutral tone and facial expression

"Hmph!" pouted the nine-year-old girl

...

After getting his bearings and calming down, Alaric looked towards his grandfather who seemed like he had some choice words for his grandson.

"Sofia, Helen, can you both please give me and my idiotic grandson a moment," asked Theodoric with a slightly frustrated tone

As the two walked out of the room, Sofia couldn't help but stick her tongue out and taunt Alaric, however, all that earned her was a light swat on her arm by Helen.

"It would seem we still have some work to do in the manners department," said Helen with a stern tone

"NOOoooooo-" was all Alaric heard from his sister before she was dragged away by the forceful caretaker.

"Sigh, that child," said Theodoric while shaking his head with a light smile

"So, what do you have to say for yourself?"

". . . ."

"Im a wizard grandpa?" said Alaric with an unsure tone as he really didn't know what to say here, he lost control of his emotions and a massive storm of magic exploded out from him, that's not something a six-year-old could just casually explain to his grandfather.

Theodoric just stood there with an unamused look on his face.

"Well, I guess I can't fault you over your first event of unintentional magic being this powerful, if anything it's nice to see that you've lived up to your namesake at least," replied Alaric's grandfather now sporting a proud smirk.

While Alaric let out a sigh of relief since he didn't want his first act in his new body to be getting punished, his grandfather said something else that piqued his interest.

"I guess it's safe to say your preferred element is lightning, hmm, I guess I should give Osric a call, lightning being his specialty and all," Theodoric thought out loud

Although he may have just "awoken" in his new life. Alaric still carried the memories from before, when his body was on "autopilot" so to speak.

As an act to make sure not to draw suspicion from his grandfather Alaric loudly cheered.

"Yay! Uncle Osric's coming over!"

before Alaric became conscious, His uncle Osric was his favorite person, and rightfully so, the man was a bonified magical genius when it comes to offensive spells utilizing the elements.

During the death eater invasion of their home, Osric in a fit of unbridled rage after seeing his wife and unborn child get hit by an Avada Kedavra, wielded the two elements of lightning, his preferred element, and fire, his second best element, to perfection as he roasted and electrocuted several death eaters in a few seconds.

After that incident, he joined the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as an Auror.

As his grandfather was thinking of the next course of action for Alaric, the boy in question was taking that moment to look into his magic core and he felt the raging storm that was his core.

'it seems I need to calm down before I can try training this new body to wield my brand of magic.'

--With Osric--

"Huh, well that's an interesting development."

Osric V is the youngest of all of Theodoric's children and Alaric's last surviving uncle by blood.

"What's wrong Stripes? asked his partner and Auror, Sirius Black.

"What did I tell you about calling me that childish nickname." facepalmed Osric

"Not my fault your patrons and animagus form is a tiger." laughed Sirius

...

That's right, Sirius was never locked up, and he owes it all to his best bud Osric Reinhardt.

Back in Hogwarts, the marauders had an extra member, Stripes, better known as Osric.

The reason for his nickname was that both his patrons and animagus were that of a mighty tiger.

If it wasn't for Osric's family's influence and the use of a pensive, Sirius would've gone to Azkaban.

And Harry would've ended up with the no-good Dursleys.

..

"So what's wrong?" asked a curious Sirius

"Well, it's about my nephew that I told you about, Alaric," said Osric with a worried face

"Is he alright?" asked Sirius worriedly

"yeah he's fine, actually, better the fine he's great! Haha!" laughed Osric with a happy smile

"I think he's finally gone crazy," muttered Madam Bones who was passing by

"Sorry, I'm just really happy for my nephew, he had his first bout of accidental magic and it came in the form of a raging lightning storm."

"And that's... good news?" asked a confused Madam Bones while looking toward Sirius for some answers

"Hey, don't look at me, his family is a tad bit weirder than mine, especially with their freaky connection with elemental magic," exclaimed Sirius

"I mean, the vast majority of young wizards can barely produce a few sparks, much less being able to amply control an element of nature with such ease as the Reinhardts do without even using a wand, and don't get me started on the special rings that they use as magical foci," said Sirius with a half annoyed half jealous tone

"You're just jealous you mutt."

"What did you call me!" yelled Serius as he lept at Osric

"Both of you stop! bunch of children." facepalmed Madam Bones

"Well now that I have you here ma'am, may I request some time off so I can go and teach my nephew how to better control his lightning magic?" asked Osric

"About damn time you use some of your vacation time." chuckled Madam Bones

"You have at least a year's worth of backed-up vacation time, go ahead and use it all if you wish, ill make sure the mutt behaves."

"Hey!" exclaimed Sirius

"Thank you Madam Bones I truly appreciate it!" said Osric as he left the Ministry building to apparate away

--Reinhardt Estate--

A few days had passed since Alaric's... accident.

During these past few days, he had been working on gaining more control over his emotions and calming the turbulent magic core within him.

Thankfully he had been able to mostly calm his magic core, however, it will still take some time before he could truly dive into relearning all of his magic it would seem.

Alaric was currently sitting with his grandfather and sister showing off his current control over the element of lightning.

"Woah, that's so cool! I wish I could control lightning." pouted Sofia

"it's okay big sister, I'm sure you'll eventually be able to create some static." said Alaric while shooting his sister an eat-shit smirk

*Fwoosh*

"Ahh shit get it off!" yelled Alaric as he tried to extinguish the fire that his sister just set on him.

"Language."

*whack*

"Ow where the hell did you come from woman!" exclaimed Alaric as he was hit by Helen who apparated next to him just to administer punishment

*whack*

"Ah! I'm sorry!"

"Hmph."

*pop*

And with that, Helen disapparated away again to go and tend to her duties as the head maid.

"Why do I smell smoke?" asked a tall man with ashen white hair and a beard to match, he was also sporting the same golden eyes as Alaric and Sofia but his eyes were a little darker, in a literal and figurative way.

(Picture of Osric --->)

"Uncle Osric!" yelled Sofia in joy as she jumped up to go hug the man now identified as their uncle Osric.

"Hey Sofia, wow you've gotten so big, what has it been a few months?"

"Hahaha, nooo, it was only a few weeks ago!" giggled Sofia

"Huh, I could've sworn it has been longer." smiled Osric

"Hi uncle," said Alaric as he walked up to Osric

"There's the man of the hour, how're you doing ben franklin?" said Osric with a sarcastic grin

"Haha very funny," Alaric said while rolling his eyes

"So, how about we go out to the lawn and see what kind of power you're packing," said Osric as he started walking out the door

--Estate Lawn--

"Alaric, I want you to use as much magic as you can muster, to begin your training I need to get an ample idea of how much magic you can draw out," said Osric as he grabbed Sofia's hand and brought her a few meters away from Alaric

After Osric gave out his command, Alaric stepped forward and felt deep inside his very core as he drew out the power that gives wizards such supernatural powers, he felt as if the magic came flowing out of him.

All around him, a dark storm cloud formed, as it rose into the air it got larger and larger until was about 5 meters large.

As the storm cloud settled, a low rumbling and crackling noise sounded out around the lawn.

Standing right below the cloud was a focused Alaric who had his eyes closed concentrating, once he felt like he put enough magic into the cloud, he opened his eyes. and unleashed a barrage of azure blue lighting bolts toward the ground.

"Uncle look, Alaric's eyes have turned a bright glowing blue!" exclaimed Sofia in excitement.

Just as the excitable young girl has just pointed out, Alaric's eyes were a bright glowing blue, not just the iris, but the entire eye.

If you were to look directly into his eyes at that moment, you would be able to see the image of a raging storm playing out within his eyes.

After a few minutes had eclipsed, the storm cloud dissipated and Alaric's eyes returned to their normal bright golden color.

'Damn' was all that Osric could think at the moment

'Not only is he the second person in our family to have an affinity with lightning in the past couple of centuries, but his lightning is an azure blue. my lighting is only a bright yellow color.' though Osric with slight disbelief

The reason for Osric's disbelief is due to the element of lightning having different intensities that were represented by their color.

starting at the bottom, you have the weakest variant of lighting magic, ranging from dark to light yellow in color, now don't get things twisted, lightning is a very powerful force of nature, and when wielded by the hands of an expert like Osric, it becomes a dangerous force to be reckoned with in the wizarding world.

the next level up is purple or lilac lightning which is hotter and more intense, this variant of lightning is so powerful that only non-Reinhardt wizards who are as powerful or close to dumbledores level can produce this kind of lightning.

The second highest level is Blue lightning, like fire, blue lightning is a symbol of intense heat and power, very few wizards have been able to produce lightning of this magnitude.

And the final level of lightning is White Lightning, a form of lightning so pure and powerful that it has lost all color. The last known person to wield this kind of lighting was the founder of the House of Reinhardt, Alaric I, and that was only after undergoing the ritual that bound the aspect of dragons to his bloodline.

When Alaric I would enter a battlefield, be it magical or not, it didn't matter, wielding his pure white lightning he could quite literally evaporate whole armies.

Since then nobody has been able to produce lightning as powerful as that, not even Alaric in his past two incarnations.

During his past life as Alaric III, he hypothesized that the only reason he could use such a godly force of magic was due to the dragon ritual having just been done, which meant that he had the purest amount of dragon magic out of any being after him.

--Back in the Reinhardt Manor--

As the trio of uncle, niece, and nephew were walking through the main entrance of the manor, Osric was deep in thought about what to teach Alaric and how to help him get his newfound power under control.

Sofia was skipping around beside her uncle, happy that she got to see a cool show of magic today.

Walking beside her was Alaric who was sporting an amused but tired smile at seeing his older sister's antics.

The only thing that Alaric was feeling at the moment besides magic exhaustion, was anticipation, he couldn't wait to see what kind of advanced forms of magic training his family and the greater wizarding world had created during the more than five centuries he wasn't around.
