Chapter 14: Library and the attack

William ran through the corridors without caring about the looks of the people around him, he never really cared about them, when he got to the library he stopped in his tracks and organized his uniform a little, he didn't want to give a bad first impression, you don't need any more of those impressions.

Madam Pince watched William walk in, he had been in the librarian job for some time so it was a surprise to see a young first year in the library just after home.

"Hello, I need all about the Wingardium Leviosa enchantment."

"Wingardium Leviosa?" asked Madam Pince in surprise "isn't that the first incantation taught in Professor Flitwick's classes?"

"Exactly the same one" nodded William.

"child, I admire your eagerness to learn but you don't need to focus on Wingardium Leviosa, Professor Flitwick will go over it for several days so that you know its structure and the history of the charm itself"

"I know, I just need more information to check some notes where can I find related books?"

Seeing William's animated expression, Madam Pince could only sigh wearily "Here, here are listed all the books with the information on Wingardium Leviosa, we also have one written in Jarleth Hobart's own handwriting."

William went through the library and looked for the books just as Madam Pince's note pointed out, he picked up all the books there were regarding the enchantment and began to read them while writing down a few things on his own sheet.

Madam Pince kept an eye on him from time to time to see what William was doing, there was nothing strange to her eyes but the truth was not so simple, behind what she could see there were several bars with messages placed on William's eyes.

Madam Pince was watching him from afar and she was obviously noticing the rapid advances of the incantation in the young first year, it was a simple incantation she knew but it was not easy for an inexperienced wizard to get to that point with books alone.

William let out an exhausted sigh as he finished reading several books on the subject, there were still several of these left but he could already feel the change regarding the enchantment, it wasn't the same as the Wingardium Leviosa he had been taught in class. Now he could lift several objects at the same time and he could also lift living beings, the incantation that Professor Flitwick had taught in class was different and the same professor said that Wingardium Leviosa did not lift living objects.

William tried to reach out his hand to see more about the strange advertisements in his eyes but his hand only went through these advertisements, they also do not respond to his commands, it was unclear how it was that this all worked but there were a few things that were clear.

Third, apparently only William could see the advertisements, but they did not pay any attention to them. The question that remained was whether the library would also be useful for potions.

Finally William closed the book in his hands causing Madam Pince to turn her attention back to him and his stomach growled with hunger "wow... I'm hungry".

"And you should hurry, all your classmates should be in the dining room and there is very little time left, if you run you will be in time to have a drink" William heard madam Pince's words and got up from his seat arranging all the books "don't worry and just go, I'll arrange the books" a wave of his wand was enough to make the books float to their corresponding places.

"thank you" William said goodbye to the attendant, as soon as the silver haired young man left the library he ran down the corridors towards the dining room.

With the help of his mind's eye it would not be difficult to get to the dining room, it was practically impossible to get lost. As the young man ran through the halls he felt a different energy than usual, the mind's eye locked directly on the target.

"what is that?" asked William aloud walking towards the place from which the magic was emitted, as he was fifty feet from his target he could see the large silhouette in the women's restroom "a troll?"

William quickly remembered of this event and by extending his mind's eye he gained understanding of what was happening, it was the troll that Quirrell let in to gain the opportunity to steal the philosopher's stone. In one of the cubicles in the bathroom was Hermione Granger hiding watching from the lowest part looking for help.

"William" she said softly calling out to the white-haired man who was in the corridor away from danger, due to the effects of the mind's eye William could hear the girl's voice in his mind, he himself knew what he had to do but if he were to intrude he would ruin the friendship of the golden trio. After all the trio's friendship was formed in that event.
