A moment later, the door was opened by Professor Mcgonagall.
Seeing this, the new students fell silent, especially after seeing Professor Mcgonagall's stern face.
"The firs' years, Professor McGonagall" said Hagrid.
"Thank you, Hagrid. I will take them from here" said Professor Mcgonagall.
After Hagrid left, Professor McGonagall immediately walked and led them to an empty chamber outside the hall.
In the chamber, Professor McGonagall began giving them a brief introduction about the four houses and then told them to wait in the chamber to prepare themselves.
Seeing the departure of Professor Mcgonagall, the new students began whispering to each other about how they would be sorted and what house they would enter.
"Ahhh, what is that?" yelled Colin suddenly.
Edward and the others immediately looked at him.
"Is that a ghost?" said Colin, pointing to the wall.
Hearing Colin's words, the new students were initially confused, but after looking in the direction he was pointing at, they also began to yell like him.
It was caused by a group of ghosts who suddenly appeared through the walls and some of them even began to float around the new students.
"It's okay, I think they are ghosts of Hogwarts" said Edward to Colin, who was standing next to him.
"Are they dangerous?" asked Colin anxiously.
"I think most of them are harmless, which is why they are allowed to stay at Hogwarts by the Headmaster and the Professors." answered Edward thoughtfully, especially after remembering Peeves the Poltergeist.
"Does that mean there is a dangerous ghost at Hogwarts?" asked Colin.
"Hehe you're right! You have to be careful with Peeves, even though he's not really a ghost" said one of the ghosts who suddenly appeared in front of Colin.
"Peeves?" asked Colin, staring at the ghost in front of him. After hearing Edward's explanation and looking closely, he found that the ghosts were not scary at all.
"Oh, Peeves is..."
The ghost who initially wanted to answer Colin's question suddenly stopped talking and looked at the door of the chamber.
"Oh, looks like we have to leave immediately. Remember to be careful of Peeves" said the ghost who then began to float past the wall. Then other ghosts began to follow.
Seconds later, the door opened and Professor McGonagall had returned.
Professor McGonagall then began to lead them out of the chamber.
After a while, they finally arrived at the Great Hall and also saw the ghosts they met before freely roaming the Hall.
Arriving at the Great Hall, Edward began to look around curiously.
Looking up, Edward could see the view of the starry sky from below. Needless to say, the Enchanted Ceiling in the Great Hall is truly amazing like the one in the book.
Pulling his gaze, Edward realized that they were now in front of the hall. There, Professor McGonagall immediately told them to line up, facing the door of the Great Hall.
From his place, Edward could see the view of every student from the various houses sitting at their tables. They are currently staring at new students with curiosity.
From the Gryffindor table, Edward saw the twins waving at him enthusiastically. Seeing that, Edward also waved at them.
Seeing hundreds of eyes staring at them, the new students were nervous. They immediately turned their attention to Professor McGonagall who was currently standing next to the old wizard's hat on the stool.
For a moment, new students wondered why the hat was on the stool.
As if understanding the minds of new students. The hat suddenly opened its mouth and sang a song. The song itself is something about sorting, and the different nature of each house at Hogwarts.
After the song ended, the students clapped politely, Professor McGonagall immediately took out a piece of parchment from her robe.
"When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted" said Professor McGonagall.
After that Professor McGonagall began calling out the names of new students one by one.
"Colin Creevey"
Hearing his name being called, Colin immediately walked to the stool nervously and sat down. A moment later.
"GRYFFINDOR" shouted the hat.
Hearing that, the students at the Gryffindor table immediately cheered as Colin walked and sat with them.
One by one various new students were called and sorted into their houses. Needless to say, Luna was sorted into Ravenclaw. The hat didn't even take long to decide, it seemed like all Luna's traits were suitable for Ravenclaw.
After a few minutes, almost all the new students had been sorted and only a few had not, including Edward who knew that he was the last student to be sorted.
Finally all the new students, who had not been sorted, got their turn including Ginny. As for Ginny, there was no change for her, and she was still sorted into Gryffindor.
"Edward Williams" said Professor McGonagall suddenly.
Finally it was Edward's turn, and he was the last new student to be sorted. Therefore, almost everyone in the hall looked at him.
Edward ignored the gaze around him as he walked and sat on the stool. When the hat was lowered to his head, he heard a sound in his mind.
'Oh, Occlumency huh. Your shield is very impressive for your age' said the hat curiously, 'Even though I can't see everything but I can still see part of your mind. Especially about your traits. Now, where should I place you?'.
'It's okay in another house, as long as it's not Slytherin' said Edward thoughtfully.
'Not Slytherin, eh?' said the hat, 'Well, even though you have Slytherin in you, it's not so dominant in your nature, so you don't need to worry. Hmmm, let's see again, thirst for knowledge huh. Ohh, you really are a hard worker, you know. Hmm, why do you want to work too hard ... Ohh to protect the people you care about huh. Ah, it seems that I know where to put you, and I'm sure you are someone who will not hesitate to protect your people even if it has to put your life on the line. Well, there is only one place for you, then!'.
"GRYFFINDOR" shouted the hat.
