Chapter 18: Going Home And Going To The Riddle Home

"Draco, are you kidding?" Narcissa, who sat at the dining table screamed.

"I think I have some homework to do," Draco replied calmly.

"I don't agree, how can there be homework at Christmas time? You said you had homework arranged by your giant teacher?" Narcissa slammed the dining table in response.

"I must tell your father to fire him. It is hard to imagine Hogwarts willing to hire a murderer as a teacher."

"Oh, mother, he's just a janitor now," Draco explained slowly. "This is just a piece of extracurricular homework for Potions. It's not hard, plus, shouldn't your son be the best? Any task should be done perfection shouldn't it?" Draco continued: " My Potions teacher is Severus Snape."

" Hmm, Severus Snape," Narcissa said the name once. "It seems I do remember Snape to have done things with your father, but I still don't think that's convincing," Narcissa said after thinking about it. "For Christmas, explain why you are willing to leave your mother alone," Narcissa complained, whilst trying not to release her tears.

"I'm back." Suddenly, a middle-aged man entered the room while emerging the marble fireplace. It was Lucius Malfoy.

"Mother, I think there's still Father who can go along with you." Draco couldn't help but feel elated at his father's timely return.

"You always come back so late, Lucius." Compared to Draco, Narcissa's tone was very harsh and more reprimanding.

Lucius, who was covered in dust, couldn't figure out the situation and looked confused. He took a sip of honey tea before coming to the dining table, while Draco explained it to him.

"The members of the Malfoy Family are not reckless, but they are not supposed to be lacking in courage."

Lucius turned to his son and said, "Father certainly supports you." Lucius remembered his old days as a Hogwarts student. He was retelling his old memories when Narcissa interrupted.

"Enough, we don't need to hear all about your student life. " Narcissa was in a bad mood right now, so Lucius, who was recalling his experiences, became silent instantaneously.

The interrupted Lucius smiled and stopped, obviously not wanting to argue with Narcissa.

After finishing his lunch, Draco bid farewell to his parents.

Before he left, he deliberately went to the muggle's food market and bought a few beef bones. He didn't know what to do.

The villagers of Little Hangleton referred to the house on the hill as "Riddle House," although the Riddle Family had not lived there for many years. The house was located on a hillside from which you could see the entire village. Several windows of the house were sealed, the roof tiles were incomplete and falling apart, the entire house was also covered by ivy.

Originally a beautiful large mansion, the current Riddle Home which was was once the most spacious and stylish building within a few miles of the village, was currently a damp, desolate and uninhabited house all year round.

Draco walked on the wide road, during which a few good villagers asked him where he was going, knowing that any face in such a small village was curious. When Draco stated his destination, every villager who asked him changed their complexions. According to them, the house had a very gloomy atmosphere. The murder case fifty years ago was enough to instil terror into the villagers' hearts.

After persuading the villagers, Draco carried on travelling to his destination. The boy's behaviour was very puzzling to them because no one wanted to approach the seemingly terrifying house.

In addition to Frank, who was the watchman of the house and a gardener.

Fifty years ago, he was the biggest suspect. He had participated in numerous wars on the battlefield. The villagers speculated that he was somewhat suspicious and that he murdered the Riddle Family.

The police also thought that he was a major suspect, so they took him back to the police station. Frank denied the accusations, and they stubbornly repeated the accusations over and over again. He said that on the day of the Riddle Family's death, the only person he saw near the house was a boy in his teens he didn't know. The boy was dark and pale. No one else in the village had ever seen such a boy. The police force felt determined that this was made by Frank to beguile the court into taking his side.

However, the autopsy report made the police feel bewildered because they had never seen a more eccentric report than this. A group of doctors examined the bodies and concluded that the Riddle Family had not been harmed by poisons, sharp weapons or pistols, nor was its members suffocated or strangled. They only came back to their friends with no information or evidence pointing to Frank being the murderer.

Frank was released. He returned to the old mansion even after the case.

The new owner of the mansion did not live here, nor did he use the house to do anything. It had something to do with the new taxes. He was unknown to the people of the village. However, the wealthy homeowner did not care and still decided to hire Frank as his gardener.

"Knock Knock Knock." The door of the house rang.

Frank slowly stood up from the chair in the yard, holding his cane and limping to the door, perhaps because of the injuries left from the war or perhaps because of his age, his leg impediment was very severe and he had to rely on crutches to be able to walk.

While walking, Frank wondered who would come to the house.

{Hopefully it is not that group of devils.} Frank thought so. The boys in the village always liked to throw stones at the windows of Riddle House. Frank took a lot of effort to keep the grass flat, but they rode on bicycles and slid on it. Once or twice, they broke into the old house while daring each other to do things.

"Hello, child, what can I do for you?" Frank opened the door and found a strange boy, with a pale face and light golden hair.

"I'm sorry," Draco whispered, then raised his wand.

"Stupefy!" A red fire shot from the tip and hit Frank.

Frank's body slowly fell as he lost consciousness.
