Don't get hit

He noticed that Phineas didn't involve himself in their antics anymore, ever since renjiro punched him he had avoided altercations of any sort and has been keeping a low profile, the next few classes passed by without hitches and soon they headed enough everyone headed for the cafeteria. Melora made it difficult for renjiro to engage in discussions of any sort with lyra, he knew she was doing this on purpose and he felt the urge to drown her.

They filled their trays and headed for their table, as usual no one joined them, a few minutes later renjiro saw a blonde beauty headed their way, upon closer inspection he discovered it was phoebe, he was shocked since he couldn't believe she would ever hang out with him after what happened.

''lyra!!'' she said with a smile, she looked renjiro's way and her smile turned into a frown

''zephyrus!!'' she said and turned her gaze towards Melora

''who is this?'' she turned to look at lyra.

''this is Melora she lives with me and is a new student here'' lyra said, Melora was already considering phoebe an enemy since she felt like phoebe was another competitor for lyra's heart, she shot phoebe a mean look.

''she's so adorable'' phoebe said and reached for melora's cheeks but got her hand smacked in reply, renjiro tried stifling his laughter but found it almost impossible and ended up choking on his food, he wondered why anyone would consider Melora to be adorable, he saw her as a little demon.

Phoebe looked at him with disdain and ignored him completely, he found her attractive but that was it he wasn't bothered by whatever she thought of him, they walked out of the cafeteria together, renjiro's class had P.E so he headed towards the court with lyra and Melora leaving phoebe behind.

There was a game that was called don't get hit, renjiro shook his head as he thought of it, the people in this world really had it bad with names, this game was basically the same as dodgeball, there were two teams and team white and team gold, each group differentiated by the color of their headband, renjiro ended up in team gold with lyra and Melora ended up in team white, she looked sadly towards lyra as she went over to where renjiro was.

Renjiro noticed this and smirked at her, she frowned and stuck out her tongue, lyra was nominated as the captain of his team and Phineas was nominated as the captain of the white team. After a coin toss it was decided that team gold would start first, the rules were simple if you get hit by the ball or if you fall out of line you get eliminated.

The instructor blew the whistle and the game began, lyra threw the ball and it impacted someone, eliminating him immediately, she managed to eliminate four more people and they lost three teammates.

Renjiro didn't know how but Melora had manage to survive and he felt that lyra had been taking it easy on her, he wished he could gain hold of the ball so he could eliminate her, while he was still caught up in his thoughts a flash caught his eyes and his body instinctively tilted to the left and the ball hit the person behind him.

Lyra looked at him in shock, that was the fastest she had ever seen him move and it happened when he wasn't even focused, she decided to attribute it to luck, but Melora narrowed her eyes at renjiro, she didn't know how he had managed to dodge the ball but she was annoyed he was still in the game and that meant he got to spend more time close to lyra.

Renjiro picked up the ball and smiled evilly at Melora, she cringed in fear trying to hide behind Phineas who was having none of it and shoved her forward, renjiro made a throat cutting gesture and threw the ball at her, it moved very fast Melora tried to run in fear but tripped on her shoe laces fell on her face, luckily, she managed to escape being hit and the ball ended up on phinny's face.

Phineas shot her a look of anger and stormed out, Melora smiled and picked up the ball throwing it at renjiro with all her strength but the ball moved so slow it seemed like it would take hours before it hit its target, renjiro snatched the ball from the air and threw it at Melora but this time he reduced the force, the ball smacked her on the head and the rest of his team jumped in jubilation.

''do you have anything against melora'' lyra asked

''no, why would you think that'' renjiro replied

Lyra didn't reply him, and walked over to Melora offering her an arm, they both left to get cleaned up. Renjiro had no choice so he left with the rest of his team mates to clean up, he was drying his body when a group of boys that hardly talked to him walked up to him.

''zephyrus! that was a cool move you pulled there'' one of them said

''yeah! How did you manage to do that I thought you couldn't channel energy'' another one added

''I don't know, I guess my body just moved on its own'' renjiro smiled and rubbed his head.

''if you don't mind, you can hang out with us whenever you feel like'' the first guy said

''no problem''renjiro replied and he watched them walk away he would never understand the thought process of teenagers, he put on his uniform and headed back to his class, oberon sat there quiet as ever, the whole class seemed to overlook his existence, renjiro searched for lyra and Melora with his eyes but couldn't find any of them so he decided to engage oberon in a discussion.

Oberon raised his head to see who was trying to talk to him, when he saw who it was he bowed his head again ignoring renjiro, at that moment the bell sounded again signaling the end of school for the day
