December 31, 2053, 11:43 AM. Rout 19, on the far south of Great Germany. 

Helena looked at the GPS on the car panel. [Just ten kilometers more.] She had already seen residences and sign of human life on the sides of the road, although very scarce. She glanced at the sleeping Hanna. Then, she slowed down and drove to the roadside, parking near a bus stop.

She got out of the car and stretched her legs for a moment. The fresh air and the wind blowing on her face relaxed her a little. Then, she shook her head and got into the car again. She was about to start the car, but Hanna suddenly groaned. "...!" She turned her head immediately to the little girl. She was having a nightmare. Helena touched Hanna's cheek, and caressed her cheek gently. "It's okay, it's okay... We're almost there. Hold on, just a little longer..."
