Self-Defense

The next day after I got home Gabriel came over with Jax. He sent Jax over to get the girls and bring them to my house. Once everyone is here Gabriel say," Okay children you asked for it, I am here to train you in the art of fighting. Otherwise known as self-defense. Today we will be working on building up you stamina. So we will work on things like jumping jacks, stretches, some running, and a few other things. We will be working on this for the next three hours."

Omg! I was never so happy for those three hours to go by. I was tired and sore. But I was also happy because this is the first step to protecting myself. I go inside and take a shower after everyone leaves.

Monday afternoon When Gabriel comes over me and the girl's are ready and waiting for him and Jax. When they come to the back yard they have poles that are about two foot long, as well as padded armour. First he has us do our warm up exercises. Then Gabriel has every one put on the armour. Then he shows us how to block an attack. We go over these moves for three hours.

Tuesday afternoon when Gabriel comes over he has the sticks and the armour again. First he has us do the warm up exercises. Then we spend the next three hours doing the attack moves he shows us. Again he leaves after three hours. I believe things are going well.

On Wednesday when Gabriel comes over with Jax and the poles he started us out with the warm up exercises. But today Gabriel pairs us off with another teen and we attack and defend at what ever rate we are best at. I end up with Destiny while Jax ends up with Star. Destiny is a good fighter. I am actually learning a lot of things from her that Gabriel hasn't shown us yet. After an hour we change partner's, Next I ended up with star. Star is a good fighter. She knows how to block and everything. She has a leg sweep move I really want to learn. After that hour is up We change partner's again. Finally I am paired with Jax. He has good fighting skills, but not as good as the girls. He has an over the shoulder arm throw I want to learn. When that hour is up Gabriel say," Okay guys a few things here. You have all done really well today. Next week I won't be able to come over daily. As of right now I'm not sure when I will be able to come back. As you know my wife is about to have a baby and she's going to need me. I will leave the sticks with you girls so you can practice. Also keep up with your warm up drills. I will come back as soon as I can ok."

We all tell him it's okay, then both him and Jax leaves.

I turn to the girls and ask them," Hey starting tomorrow do you guys want to practice here? I would love to learn from you guys."

They look at each other and smile. Then they look at me and say," We think that would be a great idea." Destiny says," We would be honored to train the princess. We will leave our sticks here. But we do have to get home now. Same time tomorrow right."

"Yes that would be great, see you both tomorrow."

I walk them to the door and they head home. All in all it has been a good week of study.
