chapter 4

(Emilia pov then regular pov)

I wake up in darkness all I can see is my own body no ground, no sky, nothing but darkness and sadness that she could feel inside this space. I start walking after a few minutes seeing a cage in the distance as I get closer to the cage I adjust my eyes seeing a person sitting down in the corner of the cage.

I look at the girl who is bruised, bloody, filthy, with cuts covering her whole body and she looks to be starving and frail as if she hasn't eaten in years, I could probably touch her and I'd break her bones. I looked over the cage door, I couldn't locate a lock of any sort and I pulled on the door that didn't budge.

" hi I want to help you, do you know how we can open this cage, so I can get you out " Emilia said bending down trying to get a good look on the girl's face, the girl slowly raises her head and all the air left my lungs as I see Tai looking back at me as tears sting my eyes. I try yanking the cage door open only having it rattle with the rattling noise echoing throughout this space.

"how are you like this, why are you like this...please Tai help me open this door baby come on " Emelia said

I start yanking on the cage door and shoving it as hard as I can and my heart is on the verge of breaking seeing my love in this state, I even start ramming the cage with my shoulder feeling the pain shooting throughout my body. I look over seeing hinges trying to pry them open with my nails and then I use a fire spell that didn't even work, I tried all of them but none of my magic worked.

"please baby please help me with the door, tell me what to do " Emilia said,

I slide to the floor hitting my knees on the wet floor as tears run down my cheeks, I thought Tai was finally looking at me and I realize she is staring behind me as fear is written on her face and eyes. I watch her body start to shake. Tai started crying balling her self up in the corner holding the bars tightly not taking her eyes off from whatever she's looking at behind me and I feel a chill run down my back making my body go stiff as fear envelopes me. I finally see Tais eyes snap to me as recognition flash in Tais eyes, she reaches out to me but I had to look behind me since my body was warning me if danger.

The feeling got stronger making me snap my head back to see what was behind me, I see Tai looking like she normally does except better like she matured and looking like a goddess. She was standing there in all her beautiful glory wearing nothing and smiling at me with her eyes closed, she had one of her hands out toward me with the other behind her back.

" Tai....baby your ok, I've missed you and what is this place " Emilia said scrambling up slowly walking toward Tai who was at least ten feet away from me, I felt dizzy for getting up so fast and slowly took a couple steps toward her with my heart nearly jumping out of my chest.

I watch her as she stands there not even opening her eyes to look at me and in my gut I can feel something is wrong, as I'm a few feet away from her a loud banging noise from behind me grabs my attention. I turn to look at the cage seeing the caged Tai prying the door open a few inches while ramming her shoulder into the bars.

('two of them in a place like this I must be dreaming, but I felt the pain when I rammed the cage earlier and I can't believe I didn't notice earlier..i feel like a airhead') Emilia thought to herself.

When I was looking back at the cage I knew this Tai was mine, I felt the temperature drop down all around me to where I could see my breath and now I'm surrounded by ice. To where my teeth are chattering And I can't keep my body from shivering from the cold, my body wanted to run immediately back to my other half.

"Emilia get away from it !! " (caged) Tai shouts, while ramming her frail body against the door getting the door to open little by little and tears running down her face, as she slowly manages to get it open where she puts her arm through up to her shoulder reaching for me.

I felt an oppressing feeling overtake my senses, as I felt the hair on the back of my neck standing up and my breath getting caught in my throat.

It's as if a predator was about to attack me from behind, I felt something evil and the darkness behind me.... I slowly turned around and saw Tai standing closer to me than she was before, her eyes are open and they were pitch black orbs staring at me menacingly. I watch a wide sneer appear on her face as it stretches inhumanely possible from ear to ear as I see razor sharp teeth as she smiles wider at me.

I glance at her body again and I see claws on her hand, a tail flicks from one side to another behind her and then I hear a whooshing sound as wings spread out from behind the demon.

I stumbled back as I saw the smile get even bigger and now she had razor sharp teeth showing, What use to be standing there wasn't her beautiful Tai no longer even though it somewhat still was, but now a distorted figure.

Now looking at the figure it reminded me of the stories of the demons that used to roam these lands over hundreds of years before my time, that the elders wrote in their history books as well as stories that were told from each generation passed down to the next generation.

The demon started to tip toe toward me like it was playing with me which creeped me out even more as it held its hands to the front now with it's long claws, as I watched a tail whip back and forth from behind her and a loud whooshing sound as wings appeared from her back as horns grew into a small crown on her head.

The demon bends down to me as it drags its nail across my cheek as blood drips from the cut, the demon then sucked on its finger with its long fork tongue flickering out.

From the corner of my eye I saw a figure run past me enveloping the demon as I focused my eyes on the pair seeing that Tai escaped the cage and now has her arms wrapped around the demon.

"EMILIA WAKE UP NOW !!!!" Tai screamed as the demon thrashed around in her arms, I was debating about helping Tai with the demon when I saw that my Tai's eyes was slowly turning black.

Just as the demon was going to pounce on top of me, Sia shook me awake, I sat straight up breathing hard As I shook my head and looked all around to get my bearings as I noticed we were still in the wagon as I cut my eyes to Sia.

"Emilia what's wrong you started crying and screaming" Sia said, getting closer to me and I could feel my body shaking and I could feel my clothes being soaking wet.

I look around then glance over to Tai who was still sleeping, I bend down kissing Tai on the lips hugging her tightly.

" I love you so much, I just need you to wake up " I said as I raise up i noticed her clothes were soaking wet with sweat just like mine.

( not Emilia's pov anymore)

Emilia looked back at Sia with a hurt and scared look where Sia could see her face more clearly, as she noticed the scratch running down her cheek.

"ahh I had the worst nightmare about Tai" Emilia said as she explained her nightmare to Sia who was wringing a wet cloth out.

"Emilia you must have scratched yourself when you slept" Sia said as she wiped the scratch with a wet cloth then she used healing magic but the cut only partially healed making the bleeding stop, Sia looked at the wound which didn't heal and that was the first time shes witnessed a wound she could not heal.

"wait you dreamed about that and Tai was locked in a cage and you saw a demon " Sia said as her face went pale and Emilia noticed that as she looked at Sia confused.

"Sia what's wrong?" Emilia said as she noticed the wagon coming to a stop as Carra came around the back pulling open the flap to the wagon.

"ok girls let's help everyone set up camp then we will get Tai out and into a tent, we've finally met up with my brothers so you all can meet their families and will have a hot meal" Carra said then looking from Emilia to Sia.

"what happened to your face" Carra said as she hoisted herself up into the wagon laying her hand on Emilia's shoulders and quickly removed them from her as if she was burnt.

"Emilia you're soaking wet and how did you hurt yourself" Carra said as she looked over to Sia who quickly looked away from her.

"I tried to heal her but it only partially did and she needs to tell you about her nightmare" Sia said as she exited the wagon.

Carra laid her hand close to Emilia's cheek as she felt the dark magic she quickly glanced over at Tai then back to Emilia as she healed the cut. Emilia leaned down to Tai kissing her cheek as she was about to exit the tent Carra grabbed her wrist.

" I need you to tell me about that nightmare please" Carra said as she laid her hand on the hilt of her dagger,

Emilia told her every detail of what happened then stood up as Carra's brothers came to the back of the wagon.

" Emilia this is my brother Braxton and Dommer this is Emilia" Carra said as her brother extended his hand to Emilia helping her out of the wagon then hugs her tightly.

" I'm glad Tai has someone like you she needs you and she will wake soon" Braxton said as he helped his sister down, Wei was giving orders to the men that he hired and that they needed to stay away from their people.

All the tents were put up and Carra was putting runes around camp to help strengthen her barrier to protect the camp, as everyone was finishing their chores then settling in camp.

Emilia helped Tais uncle move her into their tent as she lays down beside Tai holding her as she leans over kissing her.

"Baby I need you to wake up please I cant do this without you, I dont want to be here without you. I love you with all my heart." Emilia said as she cried holding Tai as she drifted off to sleep.

After a few hours of napping Emilia exits the tent to sit down by Sia to eat dinner as she looks at Carra who kept fiddling with the necklace on her neck as she was deep in thought.

" Carra when do you think Tai will wake up" Emilia said trying not to cry as she played with her fingers, Carra shakes her head as she gives a sad smile.

" I cant tell you a specific time but she will wake soon, everything looks great since we arrived at camp" Carra said

Emilia smiles and pulls Carra into a big hug holding her tightly, the woman held Emilia tightly saying a little spell of protection for Emilia's soul in case the devil inside of Tai tries to jump into Emilia in case Tai won't wake which Lillian said she'd wake soon to not worry the thing is apart of Tai.

" this is great I'm so happy she will be ok" Emilia said as she stood up running back to the tent where Tai was.

When Emilia looks at Tai's face she notices a black design of runes leading from Tais eyes down her cheek as she furrowed her brows glancing up at Carra who enters their tent right behind her.

Carra walks behind her then sits down near Tais leg as she takes Emilia's hand and gives her a small smile.

"dont worry about the mark it will probably disappear, there is a lot we will have to explain everything to you when her mothers come" Carra said

Emilia looks down at Tai's face of how good her complexion is now looking and she could care less right now about the mark as long as it's not harming Tai, she'd accept any and everything about Tai even if she was a serial killer she'd stay by her side.

Carra smiles as she watches Emilia tend to her god-daughter and can tell Emilia loves her She leaves the tent to go to her own, while the men take turns watching the camp.

Emilia lays down holding Tai then making sure she was covered and wrapped her arms around Tais waist to make sure that any movement would wake her up immediately as she fell back asleep.

At the break of dawn Emilia woke up as she felt Tai moving her arm around Emilia pulling her closer to her as she quickly opened her eyes and saw Tai looking back at her.

Emilia pulls her tighter into a hug as tears run down her cheek as she kisses her each time bringing Tai into a deeper kiss, then sliding her hands across Tais body and grinding against her until she snapped out of it.

" I love you so much I'm so glad you're ok" Emilia says as she cries tears of happiness, Tai grips her tightly kissing the nape of her neck and leaving marks by sucking lightly on her neck.

" I'd never leave you, I love you Emilia and none of this is your fault ok." Tai said with a hoarse voice. Tai raises up pulling the blanket off of her.

"I need to drink some water and stretch though" Tai said

as Emilia stands up helping her out of the tent over to the log by the camp fire where she started getting her things to eat.

Emilia got Tai a cup of water and a bowl of stew handing them to Tai, as she sits on the log beside her with a smile on her face waiting for Tai to finish up her meal, while keeping watch around them spotting Wei checking around the far side of the camp.

" ah I feel better" Tai said as she watched Emilia clean the dishes, Tai looks at Emilia giving her a shy smile as she grabs her hand intertwining their fingers after she sits down and noticed that hungry look in Tais eyes when they'd make love but she was worried about it being to soon.
