Grayson

I sit in the interrogation room with my buddies. Damn, Scarlett is beautiful. She was always. Even when we were dating, all the girls should be so jealous of her, that the only thing they could do is bully her.

Her black long hair accentuates her beautiful green eyes and her high cheekbones... Everything's the same, although, she has become dangerous. She's not the quiet girl that I've known. She might look the same, but she walks and talks differently.

"I thought it would be easy to kill her," Ryker whisper-yells.

"I thought the same," Ash grunts.

"We all did, okay. I didn't know that she could fight," I admit while rubbing my chin.

"What the hell are we going to tell our boss?" Ryker asks, startled.

"One million, Grayson. He was going to pay us one million to kill her. Now what!"

"I don't know, okay?" I get up in his face, hissing.

Who knew Scarlett was going to be a hard cookie to break?

This older lady enters the room along with Scarlett.

"Good evening, gentlemen," she greets and we don't say anything.

Scarlett looks annoyed.

"Don't worry. We will not be arresting any of you for now."

I exchange glances with Ash and Ryker before gritting my teeth. There's definitely a catch and I don't like it.

"Now, I need you to cooperate. Who wants Scarlett dead?"

I scoff and lean back into my chair. Who does this lady think she is?

"Well, whoever wants Scarlett dead could be the same person who wants to steal five hundred million as well as the White diamond.

The White diamond? Damn, I've been meaning to get my hands on it.

Ryker gapes at me with widened eyes.

Yeah, I'm also shocked.

"And what happens when we do tell you?" Ash asks.

"Well, most importantly, you will not get killed. Cooperate or die."

I laugh, and it's not a good one. "Kill us?"

"I was so close to killing your ass, Jayden," Scarlett rants.

Just then I notice that the old lady gives Scarlett a confused look.

Haha. Look like Scarlett didn't tell her boss about our past together.

"I mean Grayson," she corrects while standing in a corner with her hands folded.

I smile at her and then I look back at the boss lady.

"I mean. You three don't have a choice. You all will be forced to work with us to try to stop the robbery from happening. You all will be working with Scarlett to get your hands on the money as well as the diamond."

Ryker scratches his head. "You mean steal it before they do?"

"Well, not technically stealing. It has already been stolen," she shrugs.

Ash snickers. "So you want us to steal from the person who has already stolen it."

"That's what she said, dumbass," I hear Scarlett remarking, and Ash looks at her wide-eyed with a smirk playing on his lips.

Since when did Scarlett become such a badass?

I drum my fingers on the table, thinking before answering. "We will do it."

I expect the guys to go all chaotic, and just like that, both men turn their gazes to me, flabbergasted.

Don't worry. Grayson always has a plan.

"Well then. You all will be starting from tomorrow. I have already rented out a place for all of you," she turns her back towards us, walking away but then she stops and turns around, "Oh, and...you all will be living together for the time being."

Scarlett

I try to reason with her that this is a bad idea.

"They are smart, I know that they will reach there in time and bring the money as well as the white diamond back to us."

"And I will be living with them? You do know that's absurd, right?" I pick up my pace as she walks faster to her car.

"I can't live a day with them, without trying to kill them." I place my fingers on my temple.

"What if they steal the money and run away?" I question.

"Miss Pérez, that's precisely the reason why I put you up for this task. If they're not doing as told, then kill them. Otherwise, do your job and help them get to the money." She jumps in her car but put the window down. "Also, find out who killed Casey."

I have no choice but to nod my head and back away from the car, watching it speed off.

"What's the problem, beautiful? Can't be in my presence for too long," Jayden's voice mocks me and I count to three, trying to remain calm.

"Well I did it before, and I can do it again."

I grab all of my hair in my hand and tie it into a ponytail before snarling at him and walking away.

He's going to be dead for real this time, and most importantly... by me.
