New Girlfriend

"Hey boss", RJ said as he opened the door to the backroom.

The backroom in question was surprisingly well- furnished with a table, four chairs, a fridge, a stove and a large couch. The aforementioned couch had a woman laying on it, RJ's manager and friend, Olivia Harkness.

"Mghh".

"Time to get up".

"Neeeh", she grunted before rolling towards the couch cushions to cover her face.

"...Your cupcake princess is here".

"Open with that next time", Olivia said as she shot up awake from the couch.

Olivia could best be described with the words, "punk amazonian". Standing at 6'0", rocking a "Green Day" tank top, a beanie with pins, lip piercings, baggy cargo pants and army boots, one would never expect that such a person would be married or own a game store.

"How's my hair?", Olivia asked as she stretched awake.

"Like a rat's nest".

"Awesome, let's go", she replied as she followed RJ out door and towards the main lobby.

"Anything interesting happened while I was napping"?

"Nah, same old mid-week blues", RJ lied. It was one thing to learn to just go with magical stuff if it happens, it's a completely different beast to share the knowledge.

"Man the weekend cannot come qui-hold up.... who's that talking to my girl?", Olivia said as she suddenly stopped in her tracks.

"Huh? What per-oh".

Sitting across from Mina, happily chatting away, was a young, comely and curvaceous woman with mild freckles that radiated confidence.

A curly brown bob cut, a cropped denim jacket with a yellow blouse, torn jeans, a satchel bag and a pair of high tops all came together to form the asthetical definition of the trope, "manic pixie dream girl". The husky resting by her feet, seemed to enhance the aforementioned image.

Olivia and RJ wondered who this mysterious woman was,only for Mina to take notice of their entry and end her conversation. As she walked over to greet the duo, the mysterious woman followed behind her.

The mysterious woman had this easy, confident smile that seemed oddly familiar to RJ.

"Hey babe", Mina said as she embraced Olivia. A mildly humorous sight due to how much taller Olivia was in comparison to Mina.

"Hey darling", Olivia said while returning the embrace and kissing her.

"Well aren't you two adorable", the mysterious girl commented in a distinctly Norwegian accent.

"Who's your new friend?", Olivia asked after kissing her wife.

"Hmm? Ah! Olivia, meet Tatiana. She's RJ's girlfriend", Mina responded matter-of-factly.

"She is"?

"What"?

"Oh don't you tease me, honey", Tatiana said as she wrapped her arms around RJ's neck and seemed to unsubtly press herself against his chest, "don't you remember how we met? I found you trying to protect a lost little kitten from a big stray mutt. You were so brave, that I couldn't help but come dashing to your rescue as well".

"Woof", the husky barked as if confirming her story.

"Huh? Oh...Oh yeah! I remember now. Feels like it only happened yesterday", RJ said as decided to play along.

It was at this moment that his brain finally put two and two together to realize that "Tatiana" was actually Tatterhood...in the real world...and in disguise. If RJ wasn't thoroughly trained by pop culture to not panic when magic stuff gets involved, he'd be passing out or screaming by now.

"But, uh...what are you doing here? I still got work to do".

"Awww. Can't I just come and see my man without any prompting?", Tatterhood teased while playing the role of the doting girlfriend surprisingly well, "besides, there's nothing stopping me from just waiting for you at the store".

"But-".

"Actually RJ", Olivia interrupted, "I was going to close up shop early today. Nobody's gonna show up to a game shop on a Wednesday afternoon. Go have fun with your girlfriend".

"Are you sure? I can help close up at least", RJ asked in a subtly pleading tone.

"Just go, Mina and I got this".

As if to punctuate her point, Olivia grabbed Mina's waist, prompting her to let out a small giggle.

"You heard the amazonian. Let's go have some fun", Tatterhood said as she proceeded to grab RJ's arm and drag him out the door. The husky has already bolted out the door when Tatterhood started dragging.

"I, wait, what, I", RJ rambled

"Adjø", Tatterhood said as she walked out the store with RJ in tow.

"Adios".

"See ya"!

A few moments after the "couple" left, Olivia and Mina had a small discussion about them.

"Did RJ ever tell you about his girlfriend?", Mina asked.

"Nah. He never brought it up".

"Or you never asked".

"True...also, amazonian"?

"Oh it's a compliment darling...or should I call you Wonder Woman?", Mina teased.

Olivia just grumbled, blushed and turned her head to the side in response.
