Weapon Training

Having come early to the gymnasium after quickly leaving the cafeteria, Yune was the first student to arrive. Upon entering, Yune immediately noticed that the whole gymnasium had been rearranged.

The first thing that caught his eyes, however, were multiple racks displaying all kinds of weapons on them. Some weapons even Yune knew of like swords, daggers and bows, but a lot more weapons looked completely foreign to him.

Nonetheless, a smile appeared on Yune's face after seeing this. "So we are going to start learning to fight with weapons today." Yune mumbled to himself.

"Yes, that's right." Noah Cain said, who was now suddenly standing behind Yune. "But why are you here so early, Yune?"

"Oh, hello sir." Yune replied, slightly startled thinking he was the only person there. "I finished lunch earlier than I thought, and just headed to the gymnasium early. I hope that is not a problem. If it is, I can leave and come back when class will start."

"Ah, no problem at all. Instead, now that you are here, I might as well get started. As you guessed, we will start weapon training today." Noah Cain said.

His demeanor becoming more serious after this. "The goal of today is to find every student's most suitable weapon, which is one of the most important decisions a for a marked as a weapon will accompany them to battle." Taking a dramatic pause, Noah Cain continued. "Once a person has chosen their first weapon, they won't wield anything else for the remainder of their lives. Either because they chose the best weapon for them, or because it had become too late to switch weapons."

Having said this quite dramatically, with a serious expression on his face, Yune could be seen slightly overwhelmed by the situation. Soon after, though, Noah Cain went back to his laidback self and offered a caring smile to Yune, which let him relax a bit.

"But I have never fought before sir, so I don't know what type of weapon would suit me best." Yune said, looking at the wide variety of unknown weapons before him with a serious and calculating expression on his face.

"Haha, that is exactly the point of today Yune, and that is exactly why I am here." Noah Cain said with a joyful expression on his face. "Don't worry, just try and explain to me what type of fighting style is most suited for your powers, and I will help you pick a suitable weapon."

Again, Yune didn't want to reveal what type of powers he had, but luckily Noah Cain didn't directly ask what power he had and just asked Yune's fighting style. Yune didn't know if Noah Cain would ask everyone the question like this or that he had picked up that Yune didn't want to reveal what powers he had from their conversation two days ago.

But this wasn't important right now, so Yune just focused on the task at hand, explaining his fighting style.

Thinking carefully at what to say without revealing his exact powers, Yune came up with this: "I don't know if this is helpful, but one moment I can be fast with a rather low attack strength, and in the other moment I will be slower, but my attacks will be heavier."

Hearing this, Noah Cain looked slightly confused as he was sure Yune's power was body strengthening. Not only did he ask a question about body strengthening marks, his performance at the evaluation yesterday also point towards Yune having body strengthening powers.

But after Yune's explanation, Noah Cain didn't think so anymore, which he was quite surprised about. However, Noah Cain didn't stand still for too long thinking about this as his only purpose at the moment was to pick a weapon that would be most suited for Yune.

After thinking about it for a bit, and looking at Yune's physique, Noah Cain had made a decision and walked up to one of the weapon racks and picked up something that resembled a spear, but with big blades on either side of it.

"This here is a symmetrical double-sided spear. This particular one has quite long blades on either side." Said Noah Cain while swinging the spear as he walks towards Yune. "Using the spear for thrusting and swinging, you can take advantage of your heavier attacks to fight enemies with high defenses."

"And when you do this-" Noah Cain said, as he twisted on the shaft on the spear, now holding two blades in his hand. "You can use them as twin blades, making use of your speed and maneuverability to take care of enemies with a lower defense, enemies which are faster, or even multiple enemies at once."

Seeing Yune's eager expression, practically staring at the weapon, Noah Cain quickly put the twin blades back together, creating a spear again. "I think this weapon will suit you perfectly, Yune." Noah Cain said, as he handed Yune the weapon, confident in his decision.

Not knowing anything about weapons, Yune didn't know if this weapon was good or bad, but for some reason the weapon just demanded Yune's attention.

Trusting Noah Cain's knowledge and his own intuition, Yune accepted the spear without the slightest hesitation. Receiving the weapon, Yune immediately felt the weight of it as the cold steel weighed down his body, his grip tightening to hold onto it. 'This is heavier than I thought.

Having this weapon in his hands, Yune couldn't stay still for another second as he slowly started to move the spear around, and soon after started mimicking how Noah Cain was wielding the spear just a minute ago.

The spear felt good in his hands, but the movements he was copying from Noah Cain felt unnatural to Yune, his swings being wobbly, even throwing Yune around a little bit because of the spear's weight.

After having gotten a good feel of the spear, Yune twisted the handle revealing the twin blades in his hands. Immediately, the blades felt more comfortable in his hand, almost primally more natural. Getting this feeling a smirk creeped on his face.

Noah Cain had said that the twin blades were for when Yune was fast but with a low attack damage, which in contrast to increasing his weight to wield the spear, he could currently do. But, even if Noah Cain hadn't mentioned that this style was the best for the twin blades, Yune felt like it was the right thing to do.

Without Yune even giving a conscious command, his powers activated, decreasing the effect gravity had on his body. And suddenly, Yune just began moving around while swinging the twin blades.

For using the twin blades, Noah Cain had also given him a little demonstration. But that image seemed to have already been overwritten by Yune as his swings weren't remotely close to the ones Noah Cain had showed him.

Yune was just swinging the blades on instincts, doing what felt right. Once again, it looked a little clumsy, but both Noah Cain could immediately tell that this wasn't the same clumsiness as he showed while swinging the spear.

Each individual swing of the blades was fast and flowed naturally in the hands of Yune. Noah Cain could see this, but especially Yune could feel this, swinging the blades just felt natural, almost like an extension of his body.

Whilst moving around, swinging the two blades, Yune looked like he was performing some kind of dance, albeit clumsy, but which each second passing Yune's movements were staring to become a little more refined.

Fully immersed swinging the twin blades around, feeling them become more and more a part of his body, Yune had completely lost sense of time, and reality altogether.

Completely immersed in a world of his own, Yune failed to notice that the other students had started to come into the gymnasium. Every last one of them, without fail, were staring at Yune from the first moment they laid their eyes on him as they saw his raw movements and the two blades cutting through the air in an irregular pattern.

Eventually Yune began to slow down, and ended his swings.

"What was that..." One of the students said nearly speechless, as another one just began clapping.

Only then did Yune realize that the other students had entered the gymnasium. Feeling embarrassed, but happy at the same time, Yune's face became a little flushed.

'I knew that weapon would suit him.' Noah Cain thought, also amazed by how natural Yune looked for it being the first time he used the weapon. "Thank you for the demonstration Yune. Students, as you can see, today you guys will be picking weapons."

As the students heard that, they became really excited and ran up to the weapon rack to grab a cool looking weapon, wanting to imitate Yune. However, nearly everyone realized soon after that swinging the weapons they chose felt really awkward to use, not at all as how it looked when Yune was wielding his weapon.

"I guess you have all noticed that it isn't as easy as just picking a random weapon." Noah Cain said, looking quite proud of himself. "That is where I come in. If you tell me your strengths and weaknesses I can recommend you a weapon, just like how I did for Yune."

Hearing this, a long que was quickly formed by the students, waiting for Noah Cain to help them pick a weapon.

Standing in the middle of the gymnasium, Yune was staring at his weapon before he looked up to Noah Cain. 'I probably won't be getting any teaching from mister Cain today, at least not for now.' Yune thought.
