Natural Feeling

After Yune had come to the realization that today he wasn't going to be taught how to use his weapon by Noah Cain after having seen the que of 49 people standing in front of him, Yune laid his eyes elsewhere.

That was when Yune saw that the gymnasium had another addition besides the weapon racks. In the other half of the gymnasium, where the evaluation equipment was formerly stood, was now completely different.

Taking up nearly half of the gymnasium, a bunch of different colored and sized mannequin like machines were spread out. 'What are those?' Yune thought curiously.

Having caught his interest, Yune walked towards that side of the gymnasium and approached one of the mannequin looking machine. Now in front of it, he could see some text displayed on the bottom of them.

[Training dummy, hardness level 3]

Seeing this, Yune could roughly surmise what mannequin looking machine was and its purpose.

'Noah Cain has probably set out these training dummies for us to practice our new weapons on without hurting anyone.' Yune thought logically. 'But what does hardness level 3 mean?'

Looking back at Noah Cain to see him still busy helping the other students, Yune turned back to the training dummy. Pointing on of the blades at it, Yune hesitantly poked at it, but nothing happened.

Not being a hundred percent sure if he was meant to hit the training dummies with a weapon, Yune had gently poked it. But seeing as this hadn't even left the slightest scratch on it even though it looked relatively soft, Yune was now sure that he was meant to use his weapon to attack the training dummy.

Now, without holding back Yune readied his weapon, firmly planted his foot on the ground, and dashed forward. With the momentum he had from the dash, Yune slashed one of the blades at it while twisting his body to create even more momentum, hitting it with all his might.

Being confident in this attack, Yune looked back at the training dummy to see the slightest scratch on it, if you could even call it that. However, after only a few seconds, the little scratch was nowhere to be seen anymore, it had already healed.

Seeing this, a smile formed on Yune's face. 'I would have never imagined that there was such an amazing training device!' Yune thought, previously thinking that he had to go and fight the other students in training with these sharp and dangerous weapons.

But now with this training dummy, Yune could train as much as he wanted without getting hurt or worrying about hurting someone else, purely focusing on his weapon techniques.

Realizing that this training dummy might have been a little too tough to begin with, it being a level 3, Yune decided to look around at the numerous other training dummies that were spread around the gymnasium.

Looking around at the other training dummies, Yune quickly noticed that each and every mannequin was different like he had expected. Yune had seen training dummies with different levels, from 1 all the way up to 10, and the training dummies even had different sizes, or even different shapes altogether.

Having looked around at all the training dummies in the gymnasium, Yune was now left standing in front of a humanoid looking mannequin displaying [Hardness level 1].

'This is the perfect starting point!' Yune thought excitedly thinking that he was now really going to start a new chapter in his training, and life altogether.

Still having the twin blades in his hands, Yune took a deep breath before decreasing his weight. Stabilizing his stance, Yune got ready to attack the training dummy. A second later, Yune leaped at the training dummy without thinking about anything and just attacking the training dummy however felt right.

Slashing at the dummy while staying nimble on his feet, a smile formed on his face because. Yune didn't know why he was smiling in this moment, but he just felt alive while slashing at the training dummy, his attacks leaving rough cuts on its surface.

The training dummy, however, was healing these cuts on its surface as fast as Yune could inflict them.

Seeing this, Yune's smile widened even further. Taking this as a challenge, Yune continued the irregular onslaught of attacks, each time getting a little faster, more fluent, more precise, and most of all his use of the two blades became more unified.

Having entered a different state of mind altogether, just like he was when he first tried swinging the twin blades, Yune kept at it nonstop.

After a considerable amount of time had passed, which felt like mere seconds for Yune, he was now even managing to effectively incorporate attacking with both blades at once, seeing them as one entity instead of two separate blades.

Improving at a tremendous pace, Yune's rough cuts were now transitioning into tight and deep gushes as the blades started to whistle through the air until each and every cut was as devastating as the last, cutting deep into the training dummy swing after swing.

Picking up the speed even more, focusing on dealing as much damage as possible, the training dummy was finally not able to keep up healing itself anymore.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP* the machine alarmed loudly.

Shocked by this, Yune immediately jumped back to see that the bottom of the training dummy, which initially displayed its hardness level, now read [Training dummy level 1 successfully defeated. Please wait for the training dummy to fully heal before continuing.]

Even though Yune had always felt that he was progressing slowly, now with a weapon in his hand, and a training device in front of him reflecting his progress, he now didn't have to rely on a feeling anymore as the evidence was tight in front of him.

Seeing the difference in damage on the training dummy compared to his first attacks, Yune now knew he was getting stronger, and at a fast rate at that.

Wanting to keep going at it, Yune walked up to a different training dummy, this one displaying [Training dummy, hardness level 2] and started his attacks once again.

The training dummy having beeped loudly, Noah Cain had noticed this having happened in the corner of his eye, and a bitter-sweet smile formed on his face. 'I have a feeling that I won't get to teach you for much longer.' He said as he now saw Yune attacking yet another training dummy before even taking a second to catch his breath.
