Heath laughs off Orion's comment before walking off to join his son's exercise. Orion stares at Atlas, trying his hardest to find any sign that he was dreaming. As he continues observing, he notices that Atlas isn't necessarily using the same energy that his father is. His fathers is volatile, destroying almost anything in its path with raging fury. Atlas' feels more like an arrow, straight and calm. His father uses aura to create his energy, as does any other knight. Atlas; however, uses pure mana like a mage would. However, instead of using mana to create an elemental phenomenon, he uses it to create a physical one; mimicking aura.
"This boy is a genius!"
Orion smiles widely as he takes a small notebook out of his jacket. The rough leather creaks as he opens it and writes down his findings.
"In theory, any mage should be able to create the same phenomenon. But, that doesn't make it easy. The only spell that creates a similar effect is the shield spell… If only more research was put into that spell…"
Orion walks over to the training field and starts his own exercise, stretching and meditating. His movements are reminiscent of yoga, except much faster.
Master Orion's sudden appearance shakes Yuliana awake as she stumbles out of her room, making her way to the training field within five minutes. When she gets there; however, Atlas and Orion are sitting on the ground, meditating. Without opening his eyes, Orion speaks to her,
"Yuliana, I'll excuse your lateness today for I was late as well. Tomorrow I won't be so kind. Come, sit beside me."
Yuliana nods her head and plops down to the left of Orion. She takes a similar position to the both of them, sitting down with her legs crossed and her hands grabbing her thighs lightly.
Orion nods his head as he sees her posture,
"Good form. This position is called Fortrum. It's named after the God of the Moons, because almost every depiction of him has him in this position. This position is also the best known position for absorbing mana from the air into your body. When someone undergoes enlightenment, their body subconsciously goes into this position. Now, feel your mana circles on your forehead. Atlas, you should feel three while Yuliana should feel one."
Atlas focuses on his forehead, causing three rings to appear and glow brightly. The runes surrounding the first ring are dimmed out, causing Atlas some confusion. Orion senses this and reassures him,
"The reason the runes are dim is because your class hasn't been awoken yet. Many people falsely believe the awakening ceremony is what tells us the class someone has. This is wrong. Any mage can read a class, albeit with errors, but a class reader can cause this class to awaken. A class that has awoken will cause the user to grow in strength explosively fast compared to non-awoken plebeians. In other words, once you undergo your awakening, you'll be even more of a monster than before."
Orion ruffles Atlas' hair and then focuses on Yuliana,
"Hmm…"
Orion looks at her hands, then her chest, then her forehead.
"Yuliana, you must be extremely tired after absorbing mana, am I right?"
Without opening her eyes, Yuliana nods to him.
"Well, the reason you're so tired is because you're not allowing the mana to flow freely throughout your body. You grip your thighs with too much strength, your back is slightly bent forward and your head is facing down slightly. In order to not pinch off any pathways for the mana you must lightly grip your thighs, have a straight spine, and face straight ahead. The slightest off-centering can be detrimental. Also, your hands should be lower down your thigh. Right now, your hand is just leaking mana into your skin, while you want your hands channels to meet with the channel near your knee. This'll allow you to create a full roundabout that all leads back to your mana circle."
Yuliana nods her head. She moves her hands down her thighs ever so slightly and feels a rush of energy from her thighs to her hand, which makes her jump.
"Hahaha! Yuliana, I forgot to tell you to watch out for that. Your legs store a lot of mana, more than the entire rest of your body, because they're always touching the ground and absorbing mana from it. Plus, your legs have the most convoluted channel network of your entire body, other than your head. It'll feel like a warm stream of water flowing under your skin. Weird, I know, but that's what it feels like."
Yuliana retakes her position, feeling a jolt of energy pulse through her hands. She straightens her back, and faces straight forward. A large amount of mana rushes from her butt to her thighs, then from her thighs to her hands, from her hands to her chest, and from her chest to her forehead. As it reaches her forehead, a dim light starts emanating from it. A circle starts forming from the light, slowly pulling it into a point. After all the light reaches the point, lines start going both ways in a circle from the point. Slowly etching themselves in, they reach each other within a few minutes. When both ends meet, the light shines brightly for several seconds before dimming out.
Yuliana opens her eyes as sweat soaks her body. She looks over to master Orion with a tired expression.
Orion gives her a complicated look, seemingly shocked.
"Yuliana, has your class ever been read?"
Yuliana shakes her head at his question.
"Only adept or stronger mages can read classes, and my entire family are either physical or administrative classes. And there's no way they'll trust someone unknown to do that."
Orion waver at her to come closer,
"Well, you can trust your master, can't you?"
She nods her head and scoots herself closer to him. He puts his hand on her head as a slight glow appears. He closes his eyes, and mumbles to himself.
"Magus… Of… Lightning? Perhaps. Either that or storms. Possibly a grand class… Heltanis' sake, what is with your generation?"
