Warning: Small info dumb and 1474 words ahead

There was a small town in the Riverlands named Seagard it was nestled near a river and the Sunset Sea Its location offers both a sense of protection and access to maritime trade. The town is enclosed by sturdy stone walls that stand as a testament to its historical significance as a defense against potential threats from the sea. These walls are fortified with crenellations, arrow slits, and watchtowers that overlook the waves crashing against the shoreline.

The landscape surrounding Seagard is a blend of lush greenery and rocky cliffs. To the east, rolling hills are covered in a tapestry of fields and orchards, while dense forests lie to the west. The town's position near the coast grants its residents a picturesque view of the Sunset Sea's expansive horizon, where the setting sun paints the water's surface in hues of gold and crimson.

Seagard's livelihood is closely tied to the sea, evident in its bustling harbor and busy dockyards. Fishing vessels and trading ships dot the waters, and wooden piers extend into the sea, offering docking space for vessels of various sizes. Merchants from distant lands unload exotic goods onto the docks, contributing to the town's economy and cultural diversity.

At the heart of Seagard lies the Fishermen's Wharf, a bustling hub of activity. Wooden shacks and market stalls line the waterfront, offering fresh catches of seafood and other maritime products. A wharf is a place where sailors, fishermen, and merchants converge, exchanging stories, goods, and coins.

Dominating the town's skyline is Castle Seagard, an imposing structure built atop a rocky promontory that juts out into the sea. The castle's grey stone walls rise high, adorned with banners bearing the sigil of House Mallister, the ruling family of Seagard. Its tall towers and battlements provide sweeping views of both the town and the sea, and its strong walls serve as a reminder of Seagard's history of defense.

Seagard's location and history make it a significant location in the Riverlands. It has witnessed numerous conflicts, alliances, and changes in power over the years. The town's residents, shaped by the sea's influence, are hardy and resilient, accustomed to the ebb and flow of both tides and politics.

In the small town of Segard, A boy was just born his parents naming him Alaric Moon.

[5 Years Later]

The sun was shining bright above, and a gentle breeze blew through the air.

It was a warm summer's day, and Alaric Moon was enjoying the beautiful weather outside his house. He was sitting on the steps, watching the birds fly overhead and the people passing by.

As he sat there, his thoughts turned to his mother and father. They were working hard, trying to provide for their family, and Alaric wanted to do his part too.

"Hey, Mom, what are you doing?" Alaric asked his mother.

His mother, Sela, was sitting at the table, cleaning some vegetables for the evening meal. She looked up from her work and smiled at him. "I'm preparing these vegetables for dinner," she said. "Why don't you help me?"

"Okay," Alaric agreed. He got up from the steps and walked over to the table, grabbing a knife. Together, they worked side by side, cleaning and cutting the vegetables.

As they worked, they talked about their day. Sela asked Alaric how his lessons were going, and he told her about the latest thing he'd learned. She was always interested in what he had to say, and she was always encouraging him to keep learning.

After they'd finished cleaning and cutting the vegetables, they moved on to the next step - preparing the fish. Sela showed Alaric how to clean the fish, and they worked together to gut and scale it. The smell of the fresh fish filled the air, and Alaric thought it smelled delicious.

With the fish prepared, they moved on to the next part of the meal - the potatoes. They peeled the potatoes together, laughing and talking as they did so. Alaric enjoyed spending time with his mother, and he was glad to be helping her.

After the potatoes were peeled, they added them to a pot of boiling water. Alaric watched as his mother carefully seasoned the fish and potatoes, adding salt, pepper, and other spices. The smell of the meal was mouthwatering, and he couldn't wait to try it.

"That smells good, Mom," he said.

"I hope it tastes as good as it smells," she replied with a smile.

When the potatoes were cooked, they removed them from the pot and set them aside to cool. The fish was placed in a pan and put in the oven to cook.

As they waited for the food to cook, they sat down at the table and talked. Sela told Alaric more stories about the sea and its creatures, and he listened with rapt attention.

"One day, I want to go to sea," Alaric said.

"That would be lovely," Sela replied. "But you have to finish your lessons first. And then, when you're older, we can go together."

"Really?" Alaric asked.

"Of course," Sela replied with a smile.

Alaric's father Gerrard finally returned home and joined the two of them for dinner.

"How was your day?" Sela asked her husband.

"It was good," Gerrard replied, taking a seat at the table. "I sold a lot of fish today."

"That's wonderful," Sela said.

"Yeah," Gerrard replied, digging into the meal.

Alaric was proud of his parents and the hard work they did to provide for their family.

As the dinner ended Alaric went back to his room, in this small shack they were living in as he arrived inside the room he said something in his head.

====================

Alaric closely studied the status screen looking for any errors or new skills.

"Huh, Mana sensing?" Alaric said walking towards his bed and sitting down in a meditation stance.

"How do I use mana? I've never even tried,"

'Can't hurt to try.'

'Breath in and breath out' Alaric said in his head a red aura slowly started to form around his body.

'What is this, my breathing, is this mana, no, this isn't mana, it's something else,' Alaric said closing his eyes and trying to focus.

The strange feeling around his body was slowly starting to fade.

"Dammit," Alaric said and tried one more time, and failed, a few hours passed and the night was slowly approaching the young boy was still unable to activate mana sensing,

"Dammit, Dammit, I've been trying for hours, what the hell is wrong."

'I have no idea how to do it.'

"Is there no way to activate it, or is it a passive ability, or maybe I just need to get used to it."

"No, it can't be,"

"I think the problem is," Alaric suddenly had a realization,

'The problem is that I don't know anything about this damn world other than the few seasons, and books I read while on Earth.'

'One Final time, I must learn how to use Mana.'

Alaric closed his eyes he started breathing in and out slowly before he started to sense something blue streaks of tiny light floating around his eyes.

[3 hours later]

Alaric appeared to be in a haggard state his entire body sweaty, his short black hair drenched in sweat his eye's constantly twitching.

'I feel as though I'm getting closer to absorbing it more

The blue streaks of mana flowed into his body over and over again.

"I-I did it, I finally did it."

"This, this is mana, and I'm finally able to see it, how the hell am I supposed to use it!" Alaric screamed his frustration.

Suddenly his tattoo started glowing uncontrollably it gained a blue hue then it disappeared leaving the image of a blue dragon etched on his upper back.
