To the Shivering sea

The talks of destiny had led to arguments in the long house as Freya brought out solid points as to why his plans were tantamount to suicide.

She started of with the fact that while it was true that this dragon had nothing to do with the silver haired folks ruling down south, it was a dragon all the same and was liable to freeze him solid, just as much as their valyrian counterparts were to burn him to ash.

The earlier point itself was only valid when he found the creature, it had been centuries if not millenniums since the last ice dragon sighting. The encounter Arthor had, had with the beast, was solely based on luck.

And lady luck as all men knew was as fickle as the summer rains, Arthor countered this point with the various sightings many villages on the island were said to have had. He claimed that since theirs was true then it was highly possible that others were as well and that the only reason was discounted was because no one outside the witnesses would believe them.

"If we left here right now and told the others of the Ice dragon do you think they would believe our words? They are more than likely to think we have taken leave of our senses."

And so their argument continued, until the next day, Arthor found himself before Joseth. His plan now somewhat changed, Joseth had agreed to join Arthor on his rebellion but was caught of guard by Arthor's apparent desire to hunt down the dragon that graced their shores.

This madness only grew when some of his own people volunteered to go along with Arthor on this foolish quest of his.

He saddled with Freya to try to talk Arthor out of his madness but the both of them failed. And hence 6 long boats now laid before Arthor and the people he had decided to allow to come with him.

Some distance away Ronell and Lothor stood observing as the people got ready to sail into the shivering sea. Lothor's bore a prominent frown on his face as he glared at Arthor, he had jumped at the chance to sail the shivering sea in search of the dragon.

However Arthor had dunked him in a pool of ice water when he ordered him to return with Ronell and the other villagers, so as to join up with the others and join the fight. Now Lothor enjoyed a good fight, the feeling of his blood pumping the sounds of clashing steel... oh he loved it.

But this was a dragon, a dragon nothing else need to be said.

Yet he was being sent away, however this was an order from Arthor and hence he obeyed. Arthor who took note of the expression on his brother's face let out a chuckle before turning around to enter his boat.

"Come on, we are not going to get anywhere with you just staring like that."

Arthor's eyes widened, before narrowing as his voice gained steel. "What do you think you are doing?"

"Coming along on a stupid, bordering on suicidal quest."

"You were to be with the others-"

"Yeah, no" Freya interrupted as she dropped the bag she was holding, crossing her arms before herself. "There are enough people over with a lick of sense, however considering everyone here was all too happy to sail out into the shivering sea when the only experience they have is fishing off the shore. I believe I'm needed here."

A minute of silence passed between the two of them as Freya simply gave him a smirk before getting into a long boat once on it she turned back to Arthor who remained still observing her with disbelief.

"Are you coming?"

Arthor first wanted to argue, but then thought better of it and decided to just get in the long boat. With a call from the men, the long boats were pushed away from the shores with their oars. Thus their journey had began in earnest.

Watching at the shoreline slowly got farther and farther away, the realization that this was the first time he had left the isles of Skagos struck him. He knew of the greater world that lay out there, more than most others on Skagos.

He knew of the great wall built by Brandon the builder, he knew of the Hightower in oldtown as well as the Citadel. He knew of Casterly rock and high garden as well as the famous Red keep.

And this wonders were only those of Westeros, beyond the continent, he knew of the red wastes and the bone mountains of Essos and down south he knew of the seemingly endless forests of sothoryos. A wider world was out there wider than the shows or books had revealed, with this knowledge a longing for adventure crawled out of the depths of his heart as he continued to observe the shoreline disappear.
