Chapter Twenty-Five: Perfecto.
Mrs. Annabella's eyes drifted immediately from Alice to her son at the sound of his voice. Her eyes became weary only looking at her son made her remember what he went through a day ago." My baby" She hurriedly went closer to Valentino's bed and hugged him so tight that he couldn't make a sound.
"M..om. Am…choki..ng" He struggled the words out of his lips which caused Mr. Daniel to break out into laughter and Alice only smiled while watching the love flowing between them. Alice couldn't smile anymore just as she was reminded of her mom who had been held as a prisoner. She stumbled out of the room as she was at the edge of tears. Mrs. Annabelle was a bit surprised why Alice moved away the way she did but she didn't stress it though "Maybe she had to use the restroom urgently" She thought to herself and then moved her focus back on her son.
"How do you feel Baby?"
"Am better mom, can we please go home today I can't spend another night here in this stuffy hospital." Valentino's voice got deeper cause he noticed how Alice took off. He didn't know if he was not being fair in the contract or if something had come up with her. Bing Bing. A message came into his phone, Valentino looked and noticed it was from Alice saying she would be back after she had visited home, taken a shower, and freshened up more.
"Baby, you don't need to start worrying about work just stay under the care of the doctor and nurses for a few more days" Valentino was just about to reply and got cut off by Mr. Daniel his father.
"Where did Alice run out to?"
"She needs to go get some things, you know everything came to her as a shock and she wasn't prepared for any of this so while you are here we agreed she go wash herself up and get back." Valentino made up an excuse as fast as he could in a calm and moisturized voice so he wouldn't get caught and he didn't. Valentino himself doesn't understand why she left like she was about to park or stuff.
"It's fine she should take her time so baby, have you had breakfast? Oh, I almost forgot I caught you still sleeping with your hands around her. You had a good night am sure." Mrs. Annabelle joked around and laughed at her jokes alone.

"Hey, Wifey what's going on with you? What exactly happened yesterday?"Theo was already set for breakfast, he only knew he had to wait up for Alice knowing she was on her way back home. Just immediately the door beeped he knew Alice was back so he rushed over to the door to welcome her but couldn't even wait for her to get seated and settled before gesturing her with questions.
Alice didn't show any interest in his questions nor paid attention to giving him the answers he desperately needed. She shoved into her food, and ate like she had been longing for these for days now."Can I eat more please?"Alice pleaded before shoving into Theo's share of the food. Theo sat there looking at her like a lost puppy while she devoured all that was on her plate including Theo's plate as well.
Alice made a huge sound of satisfaction, and smiled at Theo "Hubby how have you been? It feels like I have not seen you like forever…hmm" She kept her gaze at Theo just as he was weirdly looking at her " What's wrong Theo? Why that face?"
"Can you please tell me what happened at the party am already dying out of curiosity here. Do you know how much I have waited for you to come home?"Theo screamed at Alice.
*Okay f**k, you almost blew my eardrum, take it easy man let me explain '' Alice started the story after a few minutes of nursing her ear pain and Theo apologizing.
"WTF, Alice you can't be serious. Why would he do sure a thing to his brother?"
"As much as I thought but you know am not supposed to give a damn about their family life it's way out of my concern so I only stood there and watched as Valentino was in great panic."Alice rolled her eyes while explaining what she felt as if everything was pulling out.
"Who would believe that Valentino has such a past and a terrific one at that? So what's next? What do you plan on doing?"Theo knew Alice already didn't like the drama going on in her vitality, buzz more of adding another which she clearly says is not her concern.
Alice first looked over at Theo and immediately knew he was serious about the question and also knew he needed a straight answer to that " Good question Theo. Am dropping the contract."
"I thought as much, so have you mentioned it to Valentino yet? I guess you haven't."Theo knew the look on Alice's face so he didn't need to drag on that.
"I should, I mean real quick but I just have to wait for him to get discharged from the hospital then I guess I can break the news to him. I mean if I continue with this my life will be in real danger don't you think Theo.?" Alice was looking for words that would make her feel better about her decision concerning this matter. The fact that Valentino's family is already having a hard time, breaking this to them as well won't hurt so much, will it? She will just have to find a perfect excuse.
"How in the world do you want to go about this?"Theo's curiosity grew the more he knew Alice would never give up on something she was determined.
"Am so scared I don't want to lose my life, am so sorry Valentino I can't do this. I still love my life and honestly, Jamal is crazy and I won't want to be his next victim. Please forgive me Mr. & Mrs. Frost and have a nice life." Alice finished the long speech, closed her eyes inhaled deep, and exhaled before opening her eyes to get Theo's reaction.
"PERFECTO"
