If we counted the unseeable Luciv, there were currently 5 people sitting down. No one was willing to be the first to break the silence, but no one wanted to remain in silence either. It was an awkward standstill with neither side willing to talk.
Avina reached out towards the mug in front of her and brought it to her mouth. Taking a gentle sip, a rush of warm milk flowed in. Hints of sweetness enveloped her tongue before a savory feeling was left behind. She smacked her lips before taking another sip.
When Avina felt it was time to get a conversation going, she cleared her throat. Placing the mug down, she said, "How have you been?"
"We've been doing fine," Mom answered. She smiled and her eyes twinkled. Though she tried to keep herself calm, the excitement in her eyes couldn't fade.
"You know your Dad - he likes tinkering with those toys of his. And I'm always at the office usually, but occasionally, I'll get a day off and enjoy myself at home."
