A New Beginning

Earth. Trembling. Sea. Raging. Mountains turn into simple dirt as they fall, just as humanity have. Cities begin to break and the towers that once resided in the sky now tastes the bottom floor. It really ain't a good look for humans but what can they do? What powers do these mere ants in the universe have, that can save them. Oh right, none. They live and they die like many breathing things. However, they are just so lucky that within their planet, lives a species that has that power, that could save them but unfortunately they did.

It was 12 years ago since the so called Great Calamity has passed. Many don't even recall the whole thing happening while some remember it like it was just yesterday. But what they do remember is a voice that told them.

"Live. for if you do not live you die. And why die when you can live HA HA HA". A voice so unfamiliar yet nostalgic. By the time everyone could recall what's happening, everything human thing that were on Earth was completely gone. Ridden from the planet as if they'd never existed. But 12 years later and mankind rebuilt humanity and even now still rebuilding considering that some continents even disappeared and new landscapes had to be mapped. Earth would have to be re-explored but this time with creatures that many call Post-calamity Beasts or PCB for short. Their sizes would range from the size of an ant to beings that would dwarf a whole city. Many seemed human friendly though and some would even be domesticated such as the Jarks, a shark-looking creature with dog characteristics. But as there are good PCBs there will also be bad ones like the Yoiup, creatures that could kill humans in sight if hungry, they would also hunt in packs just like wolves.

"Wolves. I think I remember what they'd look like" said Kilo as he reads a book about the animals that existed before the Great Calamity.

"No shit Sherlock, it's in all our textbooks. Even if you've never seen them there are still a few available pictures of the things that once existed before you-know-what" Jay explained with such monotone sarcasm.

"Jeez, heart broken much" said Kilo digging is grave.

"Okay, this is where you shut up" he sighed. "Shit, if only I knew she was dating someone else I would've-" Before he got the chance to say anything else he was interrupted.

"You would've what?" asked the hottest girl in school hehe i'm a minor so I get to say that.

"Oh, Mindy what brings you here!?" Jay asked her anxiously.

"Nothin' just wanted to talk to you guys that's all. Anyways, who is this is lucky girl that my best friend, Jay, have eyes on?" she teased him.

"I don't have someone like that, tsk, leave me alone" he rushed out of the group of three through the halls.

"Best friend huh, you know if you say Diamond a dozen times fast you'll eventually hear demon" Kilo told her.

"Shut it. Before I-"

"Before you what, huh? . . . demon". After he said that she bursted into flames and eyes filled with rage as she looked at Kilo. But Kilo didn't flinch, in fact he stared at her back and the two would spill out their aura at eachother. The stare down lasted for a couple a seconds but was stopped by Mr. Browns, their history teacher.

Anyways, welcome to New Cali.'s most prestigious highschool, Wayman High. A school filled with students with incredible abilities. No not just any abilities, but supernatural abilities. You can find girls that could literally be hot and the only time where the term 'You're a giant' isn't an exaggeration. What I'm basically saying is SUPERHEROES. But these 'heroes' have to learn to control their powers and choose where they belong in society. However, in many cases, if you're super strong then you'll likely be selected to work in hands-on jobs such as construction or in the army. It's already 2023 yet people are still biased. Meanwhile, in Mr. Browns' classroom, Kilo and Diamond, most people call her Mindy, are still fighting.

"That's quite enough from the both of you." he shouted. "Honestly, you two are one of my best students here, so set an example. After all, Wayman High is the. . ."

"is the way men fly" they all said in sync.

"Look, Mr. Browns, I was simply telling her a fun fact about her name." Said Kilo.

"No it was stupid" Mindy told him.

"Hey hey what did I say. Now what is this fun fact" asked Mr. Browns.

"Well if you want to know" said Kilo with a smirk and looking at Mindy looking at him. "If you say Diamond a dozen times fast, you eventually hear yourself say demon" he responded.

"Diamond. Diamond. Diamond. Diomin. Diomin. Dimin. Dimin. Demon. Oh my gosh" he gasped.

"See what'd I tell ya" Said Kilo.

"Really Mr. Browns?!" Mindy complained.

"Ah right, calling someone something like that isn't Wayman's way. Apologize." he told Kilo.

"Only if she apologizes to Jay first. Brother confessed his feelings just to get mocked." he explained further.

"So he finally confessed huh. Now that's the Wayman's way" Shouted Mr. Browns "But mocking a man's feelings? You should know a man's heart is just as fragile as a woman's if not more" he told Mindy.

"I- I'm sorry" she regretted teasing Jay. Then they just stood there in awkward silence.

'Well in any case please try not use your Majins again. You might attract unwanted attention. Even worse THEIR attentions" Mr. Browns told them with a serious glance. The two looked at eachother almost as if they'd agreed to something in their minds. After a while they were dismissed and after school the three met up.

Mindy was hesitant at first but she managed to say things she wanted and apologized. Jay was also a bit surprised because Mindy rarely apologises after teasing him but he accepted her apologies and they all went home.
