Chapter 10: Foundations of The Future

A week later, Baxter Building

"Yo, Reed what are you up to?" asked a navy-blue haired man as he walked into the room. "Building a detector for our trip later this week," was the reply he received from the man aged twenty-seven who's head didn't leave his desk.

"You know if you don't set aside time for your friends and family you won't ever find happiness right," the blue haired man went on a look of exasperation on his face and represented in his tone. Groaning the man stops what he was doing and lifts his head. "What can I do for you Steel?" he asks.

Reed had messy black hair that turned naturally grey at the sides, his brown eyes in a slight squint due to fatigue. His face a younger version of Ioan Gruffud's. The actor from the Fantastic 4 movie where Chris Evans was the Human Torch. A good movie if I do say so, one of the best Fantastic 4 movies in my opinion.

He had a little oil on his clothes, and he gave off a nerdy vibe due to the bulky glasses he wore and the natural gray hair that's slowly turning white at the sides of his head. "I'll wait till your done with your trip before I'll tell you about it, you need any help?" Steel asks. Reed just pointed at the seat next to him while Steel started to help him.

"Well, what do we have here?" a smooth male voice with a teasing tone was heard. "It's Reed and his boyfriend playing with their toys," another younger voice was heard. "You know your sisters don't like it when you say stuff like that," a gruffer or deeper but smooth voice could be heard.

In walks a blonde Ansel Elgort with a little more muscle, Luke Evans without the mustache and a Michael Chiklis with hair all with faces that match their age. Or Johnny Storm, Victor von Doom and Ben Grimm in that order. "Hey if it isn't Dr. Doom, little Johnny and my favourite mechanic, Ben," Steel says with a wry smile.

"And done," Reed says putting together everything. He then looks up surprise on his face due to him just noticing the new people in the room. "You know Reed you need to pay more attention to your surroundings," Victor says while rubbing his forehead with his thumb and index finger.

"Well, I'm done with this now so our trip can go as planned, by the way why are you here Professor McGrath," Reed asks in a more formal tone while looking at the seemingly tattooed person. Steel sighs, "I only taught you guys for a while, and I've told you on multiple occasions to just call me Steel."

"I think it's a respect kind of thing Mr. Steel, anyway what's Reed talking about?" Johnny asks Steel. "Just a little project we'll start when your trip is over," Steel tells Johnny "Oh by the way Reed you need to tweak the space suits a little so that it's filter is stronger."

The end of the Week, Space Day

"Hey Sue, how do you think this trip will fair," Reed asks the blond woman next to him. She looked like a slightly curvier blond Jessica Alba. "I'm only here to make sure you guys stay healthy, so if you guys think the tech's safe then I'll believe you or did you forget I majored in biology."

"Come on sis your just as smart as the rest of us you know it, I know it and everyone else here knows it," Johnny tells Sue in a sort of whiny tone. "Why the hell don't you say such nice things to us," another female voice could be heard.

The face behind that voice looked like Kristen Bell's, she had darker blond hair than her sister and is slightly taller than her too. "Come on Sarah, Sue's the oldest so it makes sense if I suck up to her a little, besides you're a chemist maniac and don't get me started on Stella, she made a nuke in our basement, a nuke, I don't get how you guys are triplets I don't get it at all." Johnny ranted.

Upon hearing what Johnny said Steel flinched and turned his head 'Lets, not tell him I was the one who taught her how to do that,' he thinks. "Alright guys it's time for take off, I'll be in that room with those old fogies, if I'm really unlucky I might even run into Reeds time traveling father," Steel casually says as he goes into the control room muttering under his breath with frustration, "…hot tub… alternate dimensions…"

"Did he say your father can time travel Reed?" Ben asks in confusion, "I believe he did my friend," Victor answers in Reed's place while looking at Reed with an unidentifiable emotion while Reed stood there in shock. "What are you doing there, hurry up!" Johnny shouted back at the group of six causing them to start moving.
