Chapter 9

I wake up early the next morning so that I can head to the nearby supermarket so some quick supplies since Emily has run out of body wash and she insisted that she take a shower as often as possible. We also need some feminine products and other things that we forgot to pack when we left Britain. I tape a note to the boys door to let the know where I went. I slip into my sneakers and jog to the store. I go through the isles of the store looking for the things we need, grabbing deodorant and body wash for both girls and boys as well as a bag of candy for the little ones.I stoped by the watch and jewelry section to get a new watch for Kane since his broke. Just as I was headed for the beauty isle to get a quick gift for Emily I saw Ashley enter the store I roll my eyes but ignore her. She follows me into the beauty section. " why are you in this section" she asks " no amount of makeup will ever make you pretty" i sigh. Turning to her I say " it's for Emily not me" before going back to looking at the selection the store has. " anyway. I wanted to talk to you" she says hands on her hips. I sigh again but I turn back to her only to find her up in my face even though she is a whole head smaller than me. " I don't like you" she says as if I cared if she liked me or not. " stay away from Jason. He is mine." She hissed. I turn away and say" I can't and won't do that. Jason is my friend." She opens her mouth to argue but her eyes widen. She begins to back up looking around scared. Looking up for comparing two shades of eyeshadow i turn to where she was looking. There looking around the corner hidden behind the shelves were three monsters. Instinctively I block their vein of Ashley and begin to back up slowly. Suddenly Ashley shrieks. Looking behind me I see another  monster but this one was bigger than the others . The monster backed us against the shelf, their claws as sharp as knives. Ashley looks around bolting for a small opening taking the bag she stuffed full of makeup with her, leaving my alone with the monsters. I didn't even bother calling after her knowing that she wouldn't come back to help me. before I can even defend myself one of the monsters grabbed my head slamming it against the shelf and darkness sets in. When I awaken I am tied to the post of a parking garage. I have a splitting headache and by head hurts where it was slammed against the shelf. Looking around I try to find a way to escape. Next to me was another girl. She had long red hair. She looked over at me tears in her eyes. I keep looking around. then I see the hotel. It was only a few blocks away. Then I see the monsters. They are huddled in the corner with the least amount of light. The biggest of them walks over. " your awake" it says is voice so hoarse that I can barely understand it. Then it said something else but I couldn't understand what it was. The monsters then heads back to the corner with its friends. The whole time I'm coming up with a plan to get out. I notice that the other girls ropes are loser than mine. " hey." I whisper. Her head shoots up. " do you see that hotel that is at about 9 o'clock." She nods. If I can get you out will you go there an warm my friends. She nods frantically. I nod back and begin to concentrate. Luckily dad taught me how to get out of knots. When I'm free I quickly move over to the girl. Then I hand her my knife which my dad gave me . "Find a guy named Matt and tell him Megan sent you I say" as we sneak towards the exit. She nods too afraid to talk.  just as we reach the ramp the monsters notice that we escaped. They begin to move towards us. Picking up a nearby metal rod I tell her to run. She takes off at full speed dashing in the direction I showed her. I bought her as much time as I possibly could but the monsters overwhelmed me in minuets. So I was back on the wall once more but this time the knots were much tighter.

Matt-

It's early in the morning but Megan and Ashley are missing. When I opens the door to our suite a piece of paper floats to the ground. After reading it I let the other know where Meg went. Just as we were getting ready to wake the others Ashley comes running up the stairs her hair a mess and she panting super hard. " have you seen Meg" I asked as the guys joined me at the door. Her eyes widened but she shook her head. "Ashley?" Jason asked. He knew her better than anyone else and his face said it all. She was lying. "Where is Meg?" Said Kane clearly catching on. You could tell that he was angry. " why dose it matter." Said Ashley. " it's not like we need her or anything. This only made Kane even more mad. His face was red and he grabs Ashley by the collar or her fancy blouse. Ashley tries to pull away but her held fast. "Where is she " he growled. I've never seen him this mad before. Jason places a hand in his shoulder which makes him calm down just enough to let her go. " where is she Ashley " Jason says clearly trying to the calm one. " I don't know. " she says shrugging. " they must have eaten her already " Kanes face becomes red again. " who has eaten Meg" said Jason clearly losing his cool too. I was about to grab Ashley and start shaking her. " the monsters" said Ashley rummaging through her bag. That's when i lost it. I grab the bag from her " YOU LET MONSTERS EAT MY SISTER!" I yell backing her into a corner. Jason and Kane had to hold me back before I went crazy. The door to the girls room opens and Emily walks out still rubbing her eyes. She sees how angry I was and comes over to check up on me. "What's wrong " she asks confused. I try to calmly explain what happened. Emily immediately turns around and slaps Ashley in the face as hard as she can and normally I would have laughed but now I just feel empty. Ashley and Emily begin fighting. "Maybe what Ashley said isn't true. Maybe she is ok" said Jason placing a hand on my shoulder. I nod trying to think of the positive.  " where is Meg? Is she ok" Riley says as he come out of the room with Millie. " don't worry Riley. We are going to go look for her" I say. Tears well up in his eyes when he realizes what I meant. I pull the light kid close. We both knew we couldn't go on with out Meg. She was our ground keeping us sane through this whole ordeal. Riley has been overly attached to Meg ever since mom became a monster. After reassuring him that everything is ok
