The news of the disappearance of both the Verin Son Gang and the Tung Yun Gang could not be kept secret, and it did not take long before it had spread far and wide.

After trudging in the depths of the forest for more than 10 minutes, he finally sensed movement coming from his left shoulder.

It was that slight rustling of sound that caught his attention, and his eyes faintly narrowed down when he saw that a snake like monster was hiding amongst the fauna.

A Grade 4 Green-Scaled Snake!

The snake was more than 10 meters long, and its viper that occasionally hissed out of its mouth was coated with green poison.

The scales on its body were unimaginably thick and rough, layered upon each other to give its body an adequate protection.

Its green eyes were thoroughly fixated upon Long Chen, and gleamed with maliciousness.

Without even waiting for the Green-Scaled Snake to attack him first, Long Chen took the initiative to rush towards it.

Like a gust of wind, he swiftly dashed towards the Green-Scaled Snake, which had now sensed that the human in front of him had noticed its presence.

The Green-Scaled Snake widely opened its mouth, its jaw seemingly nonexistent as the size of the hole alone could fit him easily within, if he went in a horizontal position, of course.

Not wanting to contact its venomous poison, rather than rushing to its left or right, he used the power of his Sky Realm to fly up above it.

The Green-Scaled Snake was obviously not a normal snake, and seeing that Long Chen was above it, it quickly reacted, and the compact dense muscles hidden within its long body forcefully pushed against the ground, causing it to rise in the air.

Although Long Chen did indeed possess the capability of flight, he also had a limit to the height he could fly up to.

Regardless, the fact that the snake could reach up to around his height was indeed astonishing, and not holding back a shred of its power, his blue sword was swung, producing a deadly flash.

Within mid-air, the Green-Scaled Snake hastily rolled up its body to reduce the damage to its fatal organs, thus mitigating a bit of the damage that could had been done if not for its increased layers of flesh protecting it.

Still, the impact of the strike sent it flying back into the air, and a gaping wound to appear in its long slender body.

Just when Long Chen was preparing to rush back down to the ground and use his momentum to unleash another strike to the falling snake, his sword-shaped eyebrows rose up in shock.

A pair of wings abruptly appeared in the Green-Scaled Snake's body. Although they were small, and looked utterly ridiculous, it was still able to sustain its flight in the air.

'It seems like Grade 4 Monsters are also granted the gift of flight, just like us Sky Realm cultivators.' Long Chen thought inwardly to himself.

However, this was for all the better, because he had never experienced a true fight in the air before!

With eyes burning with fighting spirit, he yet again rushed at the Green-Scaled Snake, with his sword in hand.

His hair softly flew back, along with the wind that howled through his ears.

Shadow Sword!

This time, he swung out 4 simultaneous sword strikes which rushed towards the Green-Scaled Snake, carrying with it imposing might and dominating power.

Each of them tore through the air, breaking apart the air resistance as though it was nothing but a piece of flimsy paper.

In response to the 4 sword rays that were approaching it, the Green-Scaled Snake wiped out its long tail that was covered in spikes.

The first sword ray was successful blocked, with a loud impact sound that followed after. The second sword ray cut through its sharp spikes, causing it to break into two pieces.

The third sword ray directly impacted the scales, and a straight arrow of blood flew out from it.

And the last, completely penetrated its vulnerable flesh, and shot out from the other side.

Giving a piercing cry that was a mixture of agony and rage, the Green-Scaled Snake's eyes turned bloodshot-red as it felt the excruciating pain coming from the tail it had prided itself on.

And with a vigorous swing of its damaged tail, it instantly turned around and flew away.

As monsters advance and promote in Grades, their intelligence also develops, and although the Grade 4 Green-Scaled Snake's intelligence was only comparable to that of a baby, and was unable to talk yet, it had lived in the fight-filed forest for so many years, and knew when to fight, or flight.

In this case, it was running away to recuperate from its injuries.

Long Chen's eyes glinted with a flash, and appeared behind the Green-Scaled Snake.

While it was trying its best to retreat, he constantly unleashed strike after strike with his sword, each strike practiced and smooth, always able to impact the Green-Scaled Snake with terrifying precision.

Of course, one reason why he hadn't miss a shot yet, was because the Green-Scaled Snake was only focused on running away, and not dodging from his lethal strikes.

This chase continued on for a full minute, and their battlefield was now on the ground, as the Green-Scaled Snake hoped to be able to camouflage in the dense green vegetation.

That was, until the Green-Scaled Snake could sense its death closing onto it, and with a flash of light, it was pulled into the eternal darkness.

Slowly landing on his two feet and glancing down at the Green-Scaled Snake that had its head detached, he carefully placed his hand onto its body.

After collecting the Green-Scaled Snake's body, he stood up and explored the forest once more.
