A retired god, Kira, has recently passed on his job to a successful hero and decides to open a cafe for characters from all corners of the multiverse. Heroes, villains, and anything in between are welcome to come hang out, trade, and visit other worlds for missions. ------------------------------------------ My first time writing anything so it's probably gonna be garbage but don't go easy on me. Criticism of all kinds is welcome. I won't make any promises about update consistency, university is hell.
Ozpin and Pyrrha run into Beacon Academy, but the Ancient One is easily able to keep up with the two, especially because Ozpin has to slow down so Pyrrha can keep up with him.
He opens a secret door, and they descend down under the Academy, not bothering to close the door behind them.
Stupid decision, considering the Ancient One can sense two people other than herself chasing after the duo.
Deciding to let the two hurry ahead, Ancient One stays behind and waits to see who the two pursuers are, even if she is pretty confident that one of them would be Cinder Fall.
Seconds later, as predicted, Cinder Fall arrives, followed by a frankly 'evil' looking man wearing a coat.
Not looking very pleased with the man following her, Cinder stops before descending down the stairs and stops the man with a glare.
"Look here, I don't understand nor care why Salem would send you here, but you better not get in my way when dealing with the Fall Maiden, or I will cut off that horrendous tail of yours and shove it down your throat."
Giving a creepy smile, the man says, "Please refer to Salem as her majesty or her grace moving forward. And for your information, I was entrusted with the important task of seeking out this alleged mage or maiden that took part in the tournament."
He almost looked proud when telling Cinder about his task here.
"If you are here to track her down, then why, for Oum's sake, are you bothering me?" Cinder bursts out with an irritated voice, looking at the man like he is an idiot.
"Well, uh… I have no clue where to look, so I'm just following you and hoping things work out," he says with a shrug, and Cinder just facepalms before descending down the stairs.
The Ancient One walks beside the two down the hallway where Ozpin has strapped Pyrrha into a machine that is connected by pipes to another woman. Both are glowing and look incredibly uncomfortable.
In the shadows, Cinder has a malicious grin on her face as she pulls out her bow and draws an arrow. "Finally found you."
Reasoning that if Cinder is trying to kill the woman in the machine, then she must be the Fall Maiden mentioned earlier, the Ancient One casts a magical shield, blocking the flying arrow in its path before it can kill its victim.
Focused on the machine, Ozpin now notices the people who have entered the vault as Cinder and Tyrian reveal themselves. At the same time, Ancient One undoes the invisibility magic she has on herself, appearing next to Ozpin.
"That's the magician, right? See, I told you things would work out if I just followed you." Tyrian tells Cinder, who is currently fuming at having her opportunity to kill the Maiden, stopped.
"Then why don't you make yourself useful and take care of her." Cinder says, preparing to shoot another arrow, this time infusing some of her maiden powers into it to hopefully pierce through the Ancient One's shield.
On the other side, Ozpin is unable to divert his attention from the machine. "I'm not going to question your powers, but can you hold these two off for a little while? I need to finish the procedure."
The Ancient One, confident in her skills, just shrugs and creates a larger barrier around herself, Ozpin, and the machine that the two women are inside of.
With Cinder's magically infused arrows hitting the barrier and doing no visible damage, Cinder scoffs and disgruntedly turns around to make a tactical retreat, not even bothering with Tyrian, who is already charging forward to attack the barrier.
Only taking a few steps back, Cinder is surprised to see a red-haired man standing there with an empty popcorn bucket.
The one most surprised about the man, however, is the Ancient One. "Kira?"
"Things were getting boring, so I decided to come speed everything up a little." Kira snaps his fingers, and Tyrian's head explodes, making his limp body fall over mid-charge.
Shocked at the show of power, Cinder's eyes dart around, looking for another way out of her current predicament. "Wait, we can talk about this."
"Well, you can talk it out with baldy if you really want. I won't do anything do you since you're kind of important to the mission" Kira shrugs, disappearing just as abruptly as he arrived.
Now more confident, knowing that the mysterious man won't do anything to her, Cinder turns back around to have another go at the Ancient One, who has taken down her barrier.
She had only created the barrier earlier because it would have been challenging to take on both Tyrian and Cinder at the same time while also protecting the others, but now, with Tyrian's body laying on the ground headless, taking on Cinder alone would be a piece of cake.
Turning back to face the Ancient One, Cinder is met with a blade of magic heading straight for her neck. She is able to block it just barely by turning her bow into duel swords but is still pushed back by the impact.
Not giving her a chance to recover, Ancient One proceeds to shoot several bolts of magic at Cinder but does not damage as Cinder cuts them all down.
Each time Cinder hits and destroys one of Ancient One's attacks, it creates a small explosion and some smoke which she uses to push forward.
Getting closer, Cinder decides against actively protecting herself and lets her aura keep her alive as she ignores the attacks heading her way, jumping at the Ancient One, she aims to stab her with both swords.
Noticing her dangerously low aura reserves, Cinder breathes a sigh of relief as one of her swords pierces the Ancient One's neck while the other goes into her stomach.
Before she is able to celebrate her kill and go after the Fall Maiden, however, the body of Ancient One gives a sly smile and disperses, leaving no blood behind.
Feeling her impending doom, Cinder is unable to react as two orange chains grab her arms, pulling her down the ground as another blade of magic beheads her.
Her portion of the maiden's powers leave her body in the form of glowing, transparent orange lines and return to Amber, from where they are then transferred to Pyrrha.

Sorry for no chapter yesterday, had too much to do regarding school.
Also, I think the fight scene with Cinder ended up fairly good by my standards.
