Chapter 6: Bow down to me
I frozed, the name he mentioned was not mine, but the worse character that I almost forgot. It was a situation that occurred, I never thought would've happen. Instead of showing my real emotions, I smiled brightly in front of them. Rather than exchanging smiles, the emperor looked at me with disgust. The flower crown that was on my head suddenly dropped. "You're a princess, try to behave like one". This jerk. The maid looked at me with a worried expression and she bowed down her knees in front of the emperor.
"I apologize, Your Majesty, Her Highness the princess is still six years old, I shall teach her proper etiquette".
She was still begging. This man, just because of that slight mistake that I did. Fine, since you're good to me I will help you, Yeri.
" I sincerely apologize, Your Majesty, I can assure you this kind of thing would never happen again". I gave him a cold and deadly expression like how he stared at me. What's wrong father? Are you aware that I loathed people like you? I could tell that he was shocked and couldn't believe what my eyes looked like.
"How dare a child look at me with that eyes?!
And those eyes it doesn't suit you, you wouldn't understand anyway". I've had enough. He speak like I'm a dirt and was never his child.
"Why do you think I wouldn't understand, father? Are you underestimating me because I'm small?"
I talked back to the emperor, I'm gonna die again. "How dare you call me father-" he raised his hand as he was about to hit me.
Do you really hate your own daughter that much? or are you just scared of me?
"What's wrong father? Are you gonna hit a child?" I smiled while asking him. I couldn't hide the fact that he was no different from other criminals. The knight just stood beside him and waiting for his master's command and the maid was begging to spare me.
"Your Majesty, you're the emperor, try to behave like one". I could tell that he was pissed hearing those words came from me. Zarah was never like this towards her father. She loved him that she accepted his cold attitude towards her. I'm sorry, Zarah, but I can't die because of that reason. The emperor glanced at me again. He called his knight beside him. "Let's head back, I don't want to stay here any longer". I smiled and the maid bowed her head again and was unstoppably sweating.
I did it. It's an advantage to me that I'm the princess of the empire. If I were not, he could've easily beheaded me with Yeri. The emperor left with his knight and got inside the splendidly expensive carriage. I stared from afar, because there was a big and sliver gate , I couldn't get a proper look who is with him. Yeri was behind me. "Let's head back, Your Highness". She hold my hand and we walk inside. That was a terrifying incident. It's a good thing that the emperor let it pass, still I'm happy. We roam inside the Terri Palace, it was big and peaceful. There were no people who wanted to work for the princess. Zarah never go outside because she knows that her curse was deadly. When she turned 18, she finally started to meet people to be confident and met Prash Henris. She loves flower so Yeri planted different kinds of flowers inside the palace and in the garden. After I finally memorized the place, Yeri took me to my room and change my dress to a comfortable one. "Goodnight, Your Highness".
Yeri put a blanket on my body and left the room, it was dark and the only light was the lamp she put on the table beside the flower. Because of the things that happened, I was tired. Planning to survive so that I can live and do the things I have not yet done. There was no sign of any books inside her room because the emperor didn't let her study. She knew nothing about everything and was always fooled by the nobles. With my small body, I will study and go outside with Yeri tomorrow to buy some books. I won't let anyone decieve me, and do my best to make them all bow down to me.
