The King of Heroes in a World of Despair

The skies above Lugunica were serene, the soft breeze carrying the scent of blooming flowers through the air. The sun shone brightly, casting gentle shadows over the cobblestone streets of the capital city. The world, however, was about to face a change—an event that would ripple through its very fabric.

In a dimly lit alley, far from the bustling streets, a golden portal appeared, shimmering with a majestic aura. Out of the portal stepped a figure clad in golden armor, radiating an aura of overwhelming power and arrogance. His crimson eyes scanned his surroundings with mild disdain. This was no ordinary man. This was Gilgamesh, the King of Heroes, the demigod ruler from ancient Mesopotamia. He was the king who held all treasures of the world and the strongest of all heroes.

As Gilgamesh observed his surroundings, he noticed people walking by with animal features—some had cat ears, while others had heads resembling animals. His brows furrowed, and a sneer curled his lips. "What kind of shitty world have I been sent to?" he muttered under his breath, his disdain for this strange place growing.

Stepping out of the alley and into the street, the people of Lugunica couldn't help but stare. His golden armor gleamed under the sunlight, and his regal bearing set him apart from any ordinary man. Whispers spread like wildfire through the crowd, yet none dared approach him.

Gilgamesh cared little for the murmurs of the common folk. He was a king, after all, and their thoughts were of no consequence to him. What piqued his interest, however, was the strange sensation tugging at the back of his mind—something he hadn't felt in a long time. It was almost as if this world was challenging his very existence.

"How amusing," Gilgamesh chuckled, a smirk forming on his lips. "It seems this place has some potential after all."

As he made his way to the heart of the city, his thoughts were interrupted by a commotion nearby. A group of three thieves had cornered a young girl with long, silver hair that flowed down her back. Her purple eyes were gentle yet determined. She wore a white and purple dress with floral designs, and a white flower adorned her hair.

One thief was short, another medium height and skinny, and the third was tall and muscular. The short one sneered as he brandished a rusty dagger. "Hand over everything you have, and we might let you go," he threatened.

Clutching a small satchel to her chest, the girl spoke with quiet urgency. "I don't have much time... I need to restore something precious to me. Please, let me go."

Gilgamesh stopped in his tracks, his crimson eyes narrowing at the sight before him. A part of him felt a pang of annoyance at the display of such weakness. However, the situation presented a perfect opportunity to assess the worth of this world and its inhabitants.

"How utterly pathetic," Gilgamesh's voice cut through the tension like a blade. The thieves and the girl turned to face him, their expressions shifting to one of confusion and fear as they took in the sight of the golden-armored figure before them.

"Who the hell are you?" the medium-height thief barked, attempting to mask his fear with bravado.

Gilgamesh's smirk widened as he took a step closer, his very presence forcing the thieves to back away instinctively. "I am Gilgamesh, the King of Heroes. Your lives are less than worthless, yet you dare to brandish your pathetic weapons before me?"

The thieves hesitated, glancing at each other uncertainly. They could feel the immense pressure emanating from this man, and they knew deep down that they stood no chance. Yet, desperation often drove men to foolish decisions.

"Get him!" the tall, muscular thief yelled, charging forward with his dagger raised.

Gilgamesh's response was swift and merciless. Without even drawing a weapon, he raised his hand, and a series of golden portals appeared around him, each one containing a gleaming blade. In an instant, the blades shot forward, piercing through the thieves with pinpoint accuracy. They fell to the ground, lifeless, before they even had a chance to realize what had happened.

The silver-haired girl gasped, her eyes wide with shock as she looked at the fallen men, then at Gilgamesh. Her expression was a mixture of horror and sorrow. She had never seen such power or ruthlessness in her life, but it was the sheer disregard for life that shook her the most.

"You didn't have to kill them!" The girl exclaimed, her voice trembling slightly but filled with a resolve to stand up for what she believed in. "They were wrong to attack me, but... no one should die like that."

Gilgamesh turned his gaze toward her, his eyes narrowing as he assessed her. "Mercy is a luxury afforded only to those with the power to enforce it. I have no need for such trivialities. These vermin were beneath me, and their fate is of no concern."

Before the girl could respond, a small, glowing figure appeared beside her, floating in the air. It was a spirit, shaped like a tiny cat with icy blue fur and bright, inquisitive eyes. The spirit's presence was calming, and it immediately flew to her side, nuzzling her cheek.

"Lia, are you okay?" the spirit asked, its voice gentle and soothing. Then, as if noticing Gilgamesh for the first time, Puck's eyes widened, and his fur bristled slightly. The air around them seemed to thicken as Puck sensed the immense mana radiating from the man before them. "Lia, be careful... This man's mana is... It's overwhelming."

Lia nodded, still shaken by the sight before her. "I'm fine, Puck," she replied softly, though her eyes remained fixed on Gilgamesh. "Thanks to... him." She glanced back at Gilgamesh, unsure of how to address the powerful man who had just saved her—if saving was even the right word.

Gilgamesh's eyes narrowed slightly as he regarded the spirit. The sight of a small cat-like creature flying and speaking was unexpected, even for him. Though small, Puck radiated a significant amount of magical energy—enough to pique the King of Heroes' interest. "I am Gilgamesh, the one true king. I care not for the affairs of this world, but it seems fate has seen fit to place me here. Tell me, what manner of place is this? And what exactly are you?"

Puck tilted his head, his tail flicking back and forth thoughtfully as he maintained a respectful distance. "This is the Kingdom of Lugunica. You're in the capital city. But... you really don't seem to be from around here, do you? And as for what I am, I'm a spirit—a being of magic and mana."

Puck tilted his head, his tail flicking back and forth thoughtfully as he maintained a respectful distance. "This is the Kingdom of Lugunica. You're in the capital city. But... you really don't seem to be from around here, do you?"

Gilgamesh's expression remained unchanged. "No, I am not. I was brought to this world against my will, and I intend to uncover the reason why. If this world wishes to challenge me, then I shall gladly accept. But first, I require information."

Lia blinked, still trying to process everything that had just happened. She had never encountered someone like Gilgamesh before—someone so powerful, so commanding, and so utterly indifferent to the value of life. Despite her fear and confusion, she realized that she had little choice but to help him if she wanted to stay on his good side.

"I can help you," she offered hesitantly. "I know the capital well, and I might be able to provide you with the information you need. And by the way, my name is Emilia."

Gilgamesh considered her words for a moment before nodding. "Very well, Emilia. You will accompany me for now. But know this—I have no patience for incompetence. If you prove to be useless, I will dispose of you without a second thought."

Emilia nodded quickly, fully aware of the seriousness in his words. "I understand. I'll do my best to assist you."

Puck, hovering beside her, gave Gilgamesh a wary look but remained silent. He could sense the overwhelming power emanating from this man, and it was clear that he was not someone to be trifled with.

With that, Gilgamesh began to walk once more, Emilia and Puck following close behind. The spirit floated beside Emilia, occasionally glancing at Gilgamesh with a mixture of curiosity and concern, still unsettled by the vastness of his mana.

As they made their way deeper into the capital, the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the city. Gilgamesh's eyes gleamed with anticipation. This world might be different from his own, but that only made it more intriguing. He had already decided—he would bend this world to his will, just as he had done with countless others.

The King of Heroes had arrived in Lugunica, and the world would never be the same.
