That late afternoon, Liliana relayed news about her being able to communicate with Former Patriarch Ding to Old Madam Shen. The old lady was surprised to hear that but was as supportive as ever.
While lying on the bed, she listened to her beloved grandmother figure's response.
"I barely remember Uncle Reginald's face. He's usually quiet but, actually approachable."
Chuckling, Liliana tried to extract more from Old Madam Shen, "Did he often buy you candy, Grandma? Hehe, he also asked about you. I said that you're living well."
A sigh escaped Old Madam Shen's lips, "I was so upset with him when Luna eloped. I even hoped he'd always feel regretful over what he had done. Hurm, seems like I really need to be careful with what I wish for."
Liliana understood that Old Madam Shen referred to Former Patriarch Ding's current condition. He was too weak to get out of bed.
