Chapter 83: Brainstorming in the Marketplace

Morning had just broken, and the New City was already a hive of activity. The sound of construction filled the air as workers carried on with their tasks—digging, hammering, lifting—building the future of Teyvat one beam and brick at a time. Satoshi took a deep breath, the crisp morning air refreshing his senses, and he felt his spirits lift as he looked over the bustling city.

"Satoshi! Over here!" Amber's voice rang out across the plaza, and Satoshi turned to see her waving at him from a small group gathered near the construction site of the marketplace. Lumine, Kaeya, and Beidou stood with her, their expressions a mixture of curiosity and excitement.

Satoshi walked over to join them, a smile on his face. "Morning, everyone. What's all the commotion about?"

Amber grinned. "We were just talking about the marketplace! It's going to be a huge part of the New City, right? So we thought we'd come up with some ideas to make it extra special."

Paimon floated down from above, landing beside Satoshi. "Oh! Paimon loves brainstorming! What ideas do you have so far?"

Kaeya folded his arms, his usual playful smile in place. "Well, we thought we could add a few features that would make this marketplace more than just a place to buy and sell. We want it to be somewhere people will want to spend their time—a central hub for the community."

Beidou nodded. "Exactly. We were thinking of adding a stage for performances—music, theater, that kind of thing. Something that would make people want to stick around and enjoy themselves."

Amber clapped her hands together, her eyes bright. "And food stalls! Lots of food stalls! People love food, and if we have different kinds of food from all over Teyvat, it'll attract a lot of visitors."

Paimon rubbed her hands together, her eyes gleaming. "Yes! Paimon is fully on board with the food idea. Imagine all the delicious snacks!"

Satoshi smiled at their enthusiasm. "Those are great ideas. A stage for performances, food stalls... We could also include areas where people can sit and relax—benches, shade, maybe even a fountain. We want the marketplace to be a place where people feel comfortable spending their time."

Lumine nodded thoughtfully. "I think we should also consider including some areas for artisans and crafters. If people can watch artisans at work—like blacksmiths or weavers—it'll make the marketplace more dynamic and interesting. Plus, it gives the artisans a chance to showcase their skills."

Kaeya tilted his head, considering her suggestion. "I like it. It adds an educational element, too. People will be able to see how things are made, and it might even inspire them to learn a craft themselves."

Amber punched her fist into her palm. "Alright! Let's get to work on setting up the different zones for the marketplace. Food stalls over here, the stage in the center, artisans on the other side... We need a good layout."

Satoshi pulled out his tablet, the glowing screen displaying a rough blueprint of the marketplace. He quickly sketched out different sections based on their suggestions. "How about this? We put the stage right in the middle so it's the focal point. Food stalls can go along the edges, and we can have some shaded areas with benches and trees here. Artisans can set up on this side, close to the residential area."

Beidou leaned over his shoulder, nodding in approval. "Looks good to me. It has a nice flow to it. People can come in, grab some food, watch a performance, and then wander over to see the artisans."

Paimon giggled. "And Paimon will know exactly where to find the snacks!"

Lumine laughed, patting Paimon on the head. "Of course you will, Paimon. But don't eat all the food before the visitors get here."

Satoshi made a few more adjustments on the tablet, then looked up at his friends. "Alright, we have a plan. Let's start dividing the work. Amber, you and Kaeya can start organizing the layout for the food stalls. Beidou, Lumine, can you help with setting up the stage area? I'll work on getting the artisans involved and getting some construction machines over here to get things moving."

Everyone nodded, their expressions filled with determination. Amber gave a thumbs-up. "You got it, Satoshi. Let's make this the best marketplace in all of Teyvat!"

As the day progressed, the marketplace began to take shape. Amber and Kaeya worked with a group of workers, marking out the areas for the food stalls and helping set up tables and canopies. Amber's enthusiasm was infectious, and she had the workers laughing and joking as they worked.

Kaeya, ever the charmer, worked with the vendors, negotiating the best spots for each stall. "Ah, Madam Ping, I think your tea stall would be perfect right here. That way, people can enjoy a warm cup of tea while watching the performances."

Madam Ping smiled warmly at Kaeya. "You have a good eye, young man. I appreciate the consideration."

Meanwhile, Beidou and Lumine were overseeing the construction of the stage. Beidou, with her natural strength, helped lift heavy beams into place while Lumine directed the workers to secure everything properly. The stage was coming together quickly, and soon it was starting to look like the centerpiece of the marketplace.

"Hey, Satoshi!" Amber called out, running over to where Satoshi was talking to a group of artisans. "We've got the layout for the food stalls all set. The vendors are really excited!"

Satoshi smiled, nodding. "That's great news, Amber. I've just been talking to some local artisans, and they're all eager to set up shop here. I think this marketplace is going to be something really special."

Paimon floated around excitedly. "Paimon can't wait until it's all done! There's going to be so much to do—and so much to eat!"

Amber laughed, giving Paimon a playful poke. "You're always thinking with your stomach, Paimon. But you're right—it's going to be amazing."

By late afternoon, the sun was beginning to dip, casting a warm golden glow over the construction site. The stage was nearly complete, the framework of the food stalls was in place, and the artisans had begun setting up their stations. The marketplace was still far from finished, but the progress they had made was evident, and it filled everyone with a sense of accomplishment.

Kaeya walked over to Satoshi, a satisfied smile on his face. "You know, Satoshi, I think this place is going to be even better than we imagined. The way everyone's come together to make it happen—it's inspiring."

Satoshi nodded, looking around at the busy site. "Yeah. It's not just about building structures; it's about building something that brings people together. I think we're doing that here."

Beidou joined them, wiping sweat from her forehead. "And once we get that road to Liyue finished, we'll have people coming in from all over. This place is going to be thriving."

Amber jogged over, her face flushed from exertion but her smile bright. "Let's just make sure we're ready for them! The stage is almost done, and I can already picture all the performances we're going to have here."

Paimon floated above them, her eyes twinkling. "And lots of people means lots of food stalls—right, Satoshi?"

Satoshi laughed. "Yes, Paimon. Lots of food stalls. We'll make sure of it."

As the sun set, the group gathered near the newly constructed stage, looking over the progress they had made. The workers were beginning to wind down for the day, their faces tired but proud.

Lumine raised a cup of water, her eyes shining with determination. "To the marketplace—and to the community we're building here. One day, this place will be full of life, and we'll all be here to see it."

"To the marketplace!" everyone echoed, their voices ringing out under the darkening sky.

Satoshi looked at his friends, feeling a deep sense of pride and purpose. The journey was long, and there was still so much to do—the road to Liyue, the economy, the vehicles—but he knew they were on the right path. And with his friends by his side, there was nothing they couldn't accomplish.

"One step at a time," Satoshi whispered to himself, his eyes reflecting the light of the campfire that had been set up nearby. "We'll build this—together."
