Gene System

Blake is a young man who has had to suffer through devastation over and over again losing more than just an arm. With no power of his own he could barely stand a chance against others or even be deemed useful by the military. All he can do is accept his sister's help bitterly knowing he can't return it to the same effect. After a series of events a meeting with near death shocks him to his very core changing his life forever. Awakening a hidden element buried deep within his genetic code. The Gene System, an advanced complex genetic technology used to expand and improve the overall potential and direction of evolution for the user's genetic code naturally mapping out and directing where the user should go with the growth they obtain. Not much else is known, only that few on every planet are given one through unknown means. The current state of the world is racked with unbridled chaos as the military fruitless attempts to stop the atrocities committed by the organisation known as the Gene hunters. Seeking to steal and splice any genetic data they can get their hands on by whatever psychotic means whether it be dissection, slow harvesting or cloning ethics are not a concern. Hundreds of thousands have been affected by the gene hunters including Blake's family. Some are never seen again, just used as cows for genetic harvesting over and over again until they dried up never to see their families again. Changes have begun to sprout in the background of earth leading to more and more mysterious events occurring, genetic powers becoming stronger, animals becoming mutated and evolving faster than normal generational lines. All the while in the background an unknown force beyond human comprehension lurks just beyond the veil waiting patiently for the time to run out and indulge in his planet level feast devouring all life in sight. Blake will give his all to overcome these brutal circumstances by whatever means. No matter the pain, suffering or loss he will continue to go forward no matter the cost. Failure isn't a devastation but a stepping stone in his larger goal. In his pursuit to build his strength he wont forget where he came from guarding the weak as someone who grew from that. Seeing the lack of care or acknowledgement to the majority viewed as weak in the military disdain makes him step up as the leader needed to change the structure of this world for the better. In the weak there is strength which Blake knows all too well. His reason to go forward is to become the man he wants to be. The only thing that truly terrifies is the idea of letting it all go, giving up and betraying himself and his potential.

An explosion of ink scatters across the dunes of sand. Static slowly starts to dissipate off him, the voltage slowly coming down. A different expression entirely is seen on Blake. His eyes filled with an erratic green. A wide maniacal grin forms across his face, pupils shaking violently..

"Don't go easy on me now" Curling each individual finger he cracks his digits thoroughly.

"You better give me everything you have" A giddy joy exudes from his voice.

"So when I win, you can't say shit" A mischievous grin sends an intimidating aura with it.

"So confident for someone with no power, I haven't heard of contestants like you" The man says. He whistles over to his vulture.

"Save the talk and FIGHT". Blake's voice comes out with clear fury and adrenaline.

Immediately his boots begin to hum to a much higher frequency. Green sears its way out of the transparent highlights in his boots. Sand blasts by him as his body lunges forward with as much speed as possible.

I need to go faster than this, Faster. A crackle of static travels to his boots disappearing into them in the same motion.

"IT'S USING THE SYSTEM"! Astonishment buds alongside horrific amounts of stress in Blake's mind, the other ego shattering all his expectations entirely.

"If it amps them anymore it will really put an immense strain on the keepups". Blakes inner voice rings out in the imbalance of his mind.

"This will have to do, for now" Thoughts of this ego crash in Blakes own mental pond. The disorientation of the two pinging off each other in an odd dissonance.

At the same time the inky claws of the vulture grip his shoulders bringing him into the air, ascending rapidly in the sky.

Piercing through the skies gaining altitude, the man calls out."I think it's only fair i tell you the name of the one who will take you out"

"Simon" As he says this the two figures in the sky start to blend together with an immense rotational momentum. Drilling through the clear horizon of the desert. Wind coalesce around the build up of force.

"Predictable"

"You're wide open" His arrogance becomes more and more prominent in his tone. The budding ego begins to sift through the memories in the body he's using.

"Not bad". The prosthetic dances to life as the unrelenting surge of energy finds its way through every corner of his body. Immediately the muscles in his legs burn as they put over what they've ever been used to.

"Come on, I know we can take more than this". The alien voice leaks out of Blakes mouth.

A drill of two figures comes coiling down through the sky honing directly at Blake.

"Here fishy, fishy". He says the new side of his cockiness spreads throughout his mind.

On que the drilling spin in the sky starts to come crashing down on Blake. A dust tornado nearly formed from their momentum.

Crashing through the sky Simon extends his fists going to slam down with all his built up energy. The vulture follows behind waiting for its moment.

"You do the same thing over and over again". The presence inside him says sidestepping the strike entirely. A clear image of Pyre forms in Blake's mind over the movements his body just displayed.

"Did it just copy Pyre"? Shock keeps charging through Blakes mind upon these continuous revelations.

Like clockwork the vulture screams through the air. Claws bared for its prey. A wide crazy smile from Blake reflects at Simon. Sending shivers down him. Forcing the body beyond its usual. Immense speed starts to send sand flying throughout the dunes. Challenging the vulture head on. The prosthetic grips the beak of the vulture.

Slamming its head straight into the ground. A loud screech exits the hand of his prosthetic. Waves of sound crash into the vulture ripping it apart into a puddle of ink.

Another set of burns coil up Simon's legs, skin starting to peel and bubble.

"I'm tired" The voice says throughout Blakes mind. The surging energy finally comes to order.

"Win" Exhausted, the alien-like part of Blake falls into a slumber in the corners of his mind.

Blake's porthole of vision into the real world. Starts to rapidly expand. Watching it unfold before him he feels a push as his mind slips back into place.

All the detachment fades away as the presence that took hold vanishes. Leaving all the agony of the battle behind with Blake.

"ARRRRR". Blake yells out as the confusion of his state makes it impossible to grasp the current situation. His shirt becomes a mop at this point for the amount of blood staining it. The current situation looms over him as sand cakes the blood drenching his whole body.

Simon immediately pounces, taking his opportunity in an instant. The spider from before scurries its way through the sand.

A blip in Blake's mind emerges briefly, the scurrying of the spider comes into view. Stopping any surprise attack he stomps his foot down through the pain. The ink splatters out. Painting his boots with it.

"Enough of that you've done enough damage to me with those annoying things". Blake says, spitting out a wad of blood.

Burns snakes up Simon's torso now. His breathing becomes labored in the process. With what little time he has he lunges forward.

"I will win no matter what you pull out. I refuse to let my family be deemed useless" Simon yells out from the bottom of his lungs, Closing the distance as best he can he throws a desperate last punch.

Meeting his punch with his own. Their fists clash together until a crack snaps through Simon's wrist as the prosthetic pushes its way through his flesh.

A dark expression forms on his face his last ditch effort being in vain, his eyes slowly drift out of light.

Before Blake can pass out from his own injuries he forces his mouth to move. "I promise, I promise I will change this planet". Slipping into unconsciousness, his legs standing strong through it all.

"Your point stands strong Pyre you deserve credit for this one. But let's see how far he can go before I praise him". Old fingers intricately weave themselves together in the process of thought.
