Chapter 5: The Marhalika Base

The Maharlika base is located in Palawan Island, Philippines. This military force has been keeping the spatial rift monsters away from the Catalog people for years. Until now, an unknown terrorist has done suicide bombing toward the defense system. And that's how everyone got demolished within 2 days.

"I barely got out of that violent massacre". Commander Jericho glanced at other soldier corpses.

"What had caused all of these?". Luminous went straight to the point.

"A duo". Commander Jericho faltered. "3219 and 4087".

"4087?!". Elena had heard about that monster before. "The Predator Monster type?!".

"Correct". Commander Jericho was silent for a moment. "We didn't know how to handle that creature".

"What's 4087?". Belle had no idea about this type of monster.

"A level 4 monster (Avoid if Can) has attacked this area and brought down the Majarlika base". Luminous gave her a summary.

"And it's extremely fast". Elena added one more important detail to the story.

"Wow, so Ms. Frost had played us". Belle clapped her hands ironically. "Only A-tier agents can deal with level 4 monsters".

"Ehem, this is why I'm here, sucker". Luminous gave Belle a deadly stare. She felt insulted for not being recognized.

"Or we could see this mission as a challenge to rank up?". Elena didn't want this conversation to be heated up.

"Or a chance to use my royal well-crafted coffin". Belle formed crystal around her body like she was in a real fancy coffin.

"Enough!". Luminous was annoyed by Belle's sarcasm. "We're here to do work, not to play around!".

"Alright, alright, let's get started". Belle sighed.

"Commander J, do you know where the main control room is?". Luminous asked him.

"Follow me, but beware of the monster ambush". Jericho warned her.

"Got it". Luminous nodded.

After passing tons of corpses and areas, Belle, Elena, Luminous, and Commander J finally reached the entrance of the destination.

"Damn, it's locked". Jericho looked at the red symbol on the cyber door.

"Let me do it". Luminous placed her hand on the door and unlocked it with her power. "Easy busy".

Yet, something was waiting for them inside the whole time. When the door opened, Belle had witnessed a monster eating a scientist's corpse. She could see the facial bones, the flesh, and the blood. The monsters were chewing the eyeballs.

Hearing the opening sound of the cyber door, the monster slowly turned around and deemed them as they were some kind of prey.

"Oh no". Belle gasped, holding her purge back.

"GROWL"

The monster cried loudly like it was calling for others.

"Bladestorm!". Elena threw all her knives out to kill the monster within a second and took them back by controlling the air.

As Luminous expected, a group of monsters were rushing toward them from the nearby laboratory

"How many?". Luminous quickly asked Elena for information.

Elena was floating in the air to have a clear view. "About 20"

"Let's do it!". Belle formed her crystal in the ceiling then bursted it. A rain of gems was weakening most of them.

"Take this!". Elena kept manipulating knives flying around to eliminate these creatures.

"Grenade!". Jericho threw a nade at the crowd. It helped clearing out most of the monsters.

"This is my chance to shine!". A gold key had appeared in Luminous's hand. "Key of Chimera! Open the Gate of Myth!". She had summoned an ancient being, Chimera.

"Attack them all!". Luminous gave out an order for the mythical creature.

Chimera flew toward the monsters and devoured some of them.

"Heeyah!". Elena dashed into the middle of the monster crowd.

"Be careful!". Jericho was worried about her safety.

"Tornado Shield!". A blast of wind was rotating rapidly around Elena, protecting her from all directions. The slashing air demolished all the monsters that dared to attack her.

"Crystal Wall!". Belle created a wall of gemstones in front of her sight. "Shatter!". Then she broke it into pieces. "Crystal Bullets!". The fragments turned into shots that killed multiple monsters at a time.

"Chimera, finish it!"

There was one monster left on the ground, Luminous commanded Chimera to land a final blow.

"Gilded Crash!". The whole Chimera's body turned into a golden bomb that thrashed into the monster and exploded.

"Supernatural abilities are so powerful". Jericho thought to himself after viewing the maniac scenery.

After the first war with the spatial rift monster, humanity had utilized the supernature of the WITCH's agents to invent a new type of energetic source. It's the X-Energy, it replaced usual ingredients to make weapons against these spatial monsters.

X-Energy is made of supernatural energy and alexandrite. It could harm monsters, yet still not as good as these supernatural agents. That's why humanity and the WITCH's agents had formed an alliance.

The Witches will protect normal people from the brutal attack. While that, the normal humans must accept the existence and the human rights of these supernatural people.

"Let's go, I'll send an email to the Los Angeles WITCH". Luminous said then ran into the main system room. "We need reinforcement".

Luminous is the only A-tier agent, but her ability isn't good against 4087. The extreme speed monster would take her down first before she could cause any damage on it.
