The convoy continued to push eastward as they left Clifford behind, the road winding through a mix of open farmland and dense, shadowy forests. The unease from the discovery of the Demon King's effigy still hung heavy in the air, but George and the others knew there was no time to dwell on it. They had to keep moving, had to stay focused on the task at hand.
