It worked

Realising her slipup, Mae looked the other way in hopes he would forget what she had said.

It took a moment before Elvis could grasp what she had said.

"Wait! You have seen Skun?" He queried, taking that as his only option.

He was sure his guess should be the right one, but he still couldn't understand why she would go to great lengths to get information about Skun in such a manner.

Walking towards her, he placed his hands on her shoulder, "What exactly did he tell you?"

Shrugging his hands off, she got off from the stool, taking a few steps back till a comfortable distance was established. "Was be meant to tell me something?"

Biting on her bottom lip, she held back her boiling anger at having to remember what she had experienced.

"Is this what you were trying to get out of me?" He chuckled, shaking his head.

Mae heaved a sigh, "Nothing seemed strange to you?" She asked through gritted teeth.

"Umm... no?" Elvis looked confused. He took another sip of the water.

"I was surprised by something disturbing today." She began, slamming her palm on the table to get his full attention.

Jolting to reality, he almost choked on the water he was drinking but asked anyways; "Disturbing? What do you mean disturbing?" Elvis pried with curiosity, he still couldn't piece how all these related to Skun in any way.

"How could you forget to get him clothes?!" She yelled, slamming her hand on the table one more time, this time louder than the first.

Spitting out the water from his mouth in shock, he gaped: "It worked?!"

"What do you mean 'It worked' ?" She asked with a raise of her brow, clearly not amused.

"Well I had thought if it was possible for you to unintentionally stumble on the passageway, it would also possible for others to do so." Elvis explained.

"Before you continue, I just wanted to confirm something." She interrupted his speech, "What were the chances of this being a success and ofcourse– safe?"

"So that was the thing..." He was reluctant to answer, "It was a thirty percent chance of success, but I didn't expect it to be this soon. I had thought a week or so to have its effect."

"Yet you did the spell anyways with the stakes being that high?" Mae couldn't believe what she heard.

"I deeply apologize Mae. I just thought it was the way to keep him safe at the moment." Elvis answered.

"How about you go give him clothes instead of sitting here," She said with a roll of her eyes. "He must be cold."

"Right now?" Elvis pointed at himself.

"When else?" Mae retorted, "We should get going."

"Cute little Princes–"

Shooting a glare his way, "Don't you push it dear Elvis. You of all people should know my age better than anyone else than to refer to me in such a manner." Mae said through gritted teeth.

"You have gotten feisty over the years, that I can see." He said with a chuckle.

"We don't need all these time wasted here, would you please go get some clothes so we could get going?"

"I'm no draper, so why do I need to deal with clothing?" He laughed. "I have other tricks up my sleeve."

The moment he said that, the stool levitated before gliding to the ground, returning to it's original position.

"Ah!" Mae nodded her head in understanding, "So what are we waiting for? Let's get going."

"Why walk and sneak there when we could teleport there?" He said with the snap of his fingers not giving Mae enough time to comprehend what he meant.

–––––––––––

Skun yelled at the sound of footsteps, he had been so used to someone coming in through the stairs, he was totally caught off guard by someone appearing inside the cave without that conventional means.

Acting on reflex, he shot out flames towards the considered threat.

Deflecting his fire blast, Elvis conjured up a shield to protect himself.

"Skun, have you seen Mae?" Elvis looked around the cave for any sign of the Princess, clearly trying to avoid looking down.

"Elvis, what are you doing here? You scared me with your uncalled appearance." Skun whined.

Mae on the other hand came in close contact with his naked body, she stared in horror at his butt cheeks a little too up close for comfort.

"Gross!!!" Mae grimaced, internally cursing at her predicament. She looked to the floor, clearly disgusted at having to defile her eyes.

"Mae? When did you–" Skun was about to turn when he felt his body freeze in place.

Mae felt her heart in her throat, the thumping increasing its pace as she couldn't prepare her mind for what she was to face if he had turned to face her.

Shutting her eyes, as this was the only option to save her the gross defilement of her innocence, she felt a chilly steam make its way to her skin, taking a peek, she couldn't express how glad she was to see him freeze in place like how she had experienced in his tower.

Her heartbeat normalized, this was something she was glad Elvis had been quick witted about. Turning towards the wall, she rocked herself while closing her eyes, the uncomfortable feeling still present.

"Skun would you get your head together?" Elvis scolded before releasing his spell.

"Don't make the mistake of turning to face Mae." He warned.

"Get my head together?" Skun repeated, "Might I remind you, I might look human and have a head, body and limbs or is it called appendages, but I am a dragon at heart. I never bargained for this when I said I wanted to better understand how humans are."

"You call this better understand? I still don't get why I need to wear clothes since I'm down here. Yet I seem to understand because others feel uncomfortable if I don't. All of these human philosophy confuses me." Skun held his head in confusion.

"Get him dressed." Mae spoke which was barely audible with their banter.

"Well being in a human body clearly outweighs what you expected, now you wouldn't need to worry about getting caught, you can move about freely." Elvis reasoned.

"What the hell?! Would you get him in some clothes before you continue with whatever that may concern you two?" Mae yelled, pulling on her hair. She felt almost crazy due to her attention being on the wall and not who she intended talking to.

Elvis and Skun shared a shocked look, none wanting to speak on the issue first.
