FTWS: The Cursed Ones

This fan-fiction is created to continue the Fate: The Winx Saga after the abrupt ending after Season 2. The fan-fiction follows the story rather accurately all until the start of season 2, where i begin taking liberties to slowly start implementing 'The Cursed Ones' organization deeper into the story. Now here is the actual synopsis or something: Lucas Renthrone never particularly liked fairies, partly due to his up bringing but mainly due to fighting against them his entire life. It had been a few years since he had moved to the First World in an attempt to gain control over a large section of it to further his own goals. He was getting close, resting in the abandoned warehouse, disguised as a homeless person in an off chance someone from the Other World starts looking into the oddities taking place in the First World, he dangled his feet off the railing. Watching... As for what he was watching? The fiery haired girl who had entered the warehouse and was slowly taking a seat on the chilly ground. She seem somewhat fun was all he thought as he glanced up and finally noticed him. DISCLAIMER: All characters, concepts, etc; outside of Lucas Renthrone and the organization of 'The Cursed Ones' which are original creations, belong to Netflix or something.

Chapter 4: The Sudden Parting

The warehouse had become a sanctuary, a place where two souls could find solace in each other's company. Night after night, Lucas and Bloom met, their conversations dancing around the secrets they both held close to their hearts. For Lucas, it was a delicate balancing act, revealing just enough to keep Bloom close while keeping the truth of his identity and mission carefully concealed.

As the moon rose over Gardenia, casting its silvery glow through the high windows of the warehouse, Lucas found himself waiting for Bloom, a sense of anticipation thrumming through his veins. She was late, much later than usual, and he couldn't help but wonder if her mother's recent release from the hospital had something to do with it.

Just as he was about to give in to the niggling worry, the door creaked open, and Bloom stepped inside. But something was different. The moment his eyes met hers, Lucas could see that something was weighing heavily on her mind.

Silently, she made her way over to him, settling down closer than they usually sat, yet still maintaining a careful distance. The air between them felt charged, thick with unspoken emotions and unanswered questions.

Unable to bear the silence any longer, Lucas turned to her, his brow furrowed in concern. "Is everything okay?" he asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper in the stillness of the warehouse.

Bloom nodded, but the gesture lacked conviction. She drew in a shaky breath, her gaze fixed on her hands as she fidgeted with the hem of her shirt. "I'm going to an international school," she finally said, the words tumbling out in a rush. "I'm not sure if we can keep meeting like this."

Lucas felt his heart skip a beat, a sudden tightness gripping his chest. He knew, of course, that she was headed to Alfea. His sources had confirmed as much. But hearing her say it out loud, the realization that their nightly meetings might come to an end, hit him harder than he expected.

Schooling his features into a mask of surprise tinged with sadness, Lucas let out a soft sigh. "An international school? That's... that's great, Bloom. I'm happy for you." The words felt hollow, even to his own ears, but he pushed on. "You deserve this opportunity."

Bloom glanced up at him, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "I don't know what to do, Lucas. I feel like I'm leaving everything behind. My parents, my life here... even you."

The admission hung in the air between them, a fragile thing that threatened to shatter the carefully constructed walls they had both erected. Lucas swallowed hard, his mind racing as he tried to find the right words to reassure her, to reassure himself.

"Hey," he said softly, reaching out to lay a hand on her shoulder. "This doesn't have to be goodbye. We can still stay in touch. Emails, phone calls, maybe even the occasional visit if you're allowed off campus."

Bloom let out a watery laugh, swiping at her eyes with the back of her hand. "You make it sound so easy," she murmured, leaning into his touch ever so slightly.

"It's not easy," Lucas admitted, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on her shoulder. "But the things that matter rarely are. And this... our friendship... it matters to me, Bloom. More than you know."

The words were out before he could stop them, a rare moment of unguarded honesty that left him feeling exposed. But as Bloom's eyes met his, a tentative smile tugging at the corners of her mouth, Lucas knew he couldn't bring himself to regret it.

They sat like that for a long moment, the silence stretching between them like a living thing. There was so much left unsaid, so many secrets still lurking in the shadows. But for now, in the quiet of the warehouse, with the moonlight casting a soft glow over their faces, none of that seemed to matter.

All that mattered was the understanding that had grown between them, the bond that had been forged through shared laughter and whispered confessions. And even as the specter of change loomed on the horizon, Lucas knew that he would do whatever it took to keep that bond alive.

For Bloom, he would move mountains. He would cross realms and defy the very laws of nature itself. Because somewhere along the way, without even realizing it, she had become more than just a mission, more than just a means to an end.

She had become his only friend. And for him, that was a precious thing indeed.

As the first rays of sunlight crept through the warehouse windows, Lucas found himself in a moment of unexpected intimacy. Bloom, exhausted from the emotional toll of the night, had drifted off to sleep, her head coming to rest on his shoulder. For Lucas, who rarely slept himself, the experience was both foreign and strangely comforting.

Lost in thought, he pondered the peculiarities of his own existence. The fact that he could go days without sleep, pushing his body to the limits without consequence, had always been a point of curiosity. But it was a mystery he had long since learned to accept, just another facet of the mystery that was Lucas.

As the sun climbed higher in the sky, Lucas found himself torn. A part of him wanted to let Bloom sleep, to savor these last few moments of closeness before she left for Alfea. It was a selfish desire, born of a loneliness he hadn't even realized he carried until she walked into his life. But another part, the rational side that had always guided his actions, knew that he couldn't let her be late. Not today, of all days.

And then there was the question of their friendship itself. Lucas couldn't help but wonder if it could even be called that, given how little Bloom truly knew about him. He had kept so much hidden, cloaked in shadows and secrets, that sometimes he felt like a stranger even to himself. When she learned the truth, when she saw the blood on his hands and the darkness in his heart, would she still look at him with the same warmth and understanding?

The thought was a painful one, but Lucas pushed it aside. He had made his choices long ago, and he would live with the consequences, whatever they may be. For now, all he could do was cherish these moments, these fleeting glimpses of a life he had never dared to dream of.

Steeling himself, Lucas gently nudged Bloom awake, watching as she blinked owlishly in the bright sunlight. She stretched, her arms reaching towards the ceiling as she let out a contented sigh. Lucas couldn't help but tease her, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Sleep well, princess? You looked pretty cozy there."

Bloom ducked her head, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. But when she looked up again, her eyes were tinged with sadness, the reality of their impending separation settling over them like a heavy cloak.

They stood facing each other, the distance between them suddenly feeling vast and uncertain. And then, in a move that caught Lucas completely off guard, Bloom stepped forward and pulled him into a hug. He stiffened for a moment, his body unused to such open displays of affection. But slowly, tentatively, he brought his arms up to encircle her, holding her close as if she might disappear at any moment.

"I hope we get to see each other again," Bloom murmured, her voice muffled against his chest.

Lucas smiled, a bittersweet thing that she couldn't see. "I'm sure we will see each other soon," he replied, the words holding a weight that only he could understand.

As they separated, Bloom swiped at her eyes, brushing away the tears that threatened to fall. She put on a brave smile, a valiant effort to mask the emotions that swirled just beneath the surface. With a final nod, she turned and walked away, her footsteps echoing in the empty warehouse.

At the door, she paused, looking back over her shoulder. "Bye, Lucas," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

And then she was gone, the door swinging shut behind her with a finality that felt like a punch to the gut. Lucas stood there for a long moment, his gaze fixed on the spot where she had been, as if he could will her back through sheer force of longing.

But life, as he had learned long ago, was rarely so kind. With a heavy sigh, he turned away, his mind already shifting to the tasks that lay ahead. There were plans to be made, strings to be pulled, a world to be reshaped in his image.

And yet, even as he threw himself into the work, a part of him couldn't help but hold onto the memory of that final embrace, the warmth of Bloom's arms around him. It was a small thing, a fleeting moment of connection in a life defined by isolation and ambition.

But for him, it was enough. It had to be.

I can't lie, I already have the entire prolgue chapters written and I am almost tempted to post them all now as the actual story in my opinion is so far more intersting, but no! Too much too quickly isn't good for the soul or something like that.

Anyway, for those of you who have not watched the show, this chapter took place around the time Dowling found Bloom and invited her to Alfea, Bloom is infact going to the Other World to attend Alfea, not an actual international school.
