Frozen Sword in a Cultivation World

A mysterious star shot across the sky as piercing laughter stretched across the starry sky. In star that was shot lay a blond boy separated from where he belonged. It was a moment to be remembered and it was recorded in the notes of Remembrance, and as the star left the worlds behind. Note: This is a Record of A Mortal's Journey to Immortality fanfic. The original novel was one of my favorites back in the day. Paired with our boy Yanqing. He needs some Ws Will update whenever I feel like it. First time writing so writing quality is probably not the best. I will also update some of the earlier chapters since the quality isn't as good as later on.

Chapter Four: Waking up from a Dream

The light blinded my eyes as I finally saw the sun. It was the sun. It was light. I could finally see it. It's only been several days, and yet my vision was already blurring from all the tears that streamed down from my face.

The grassy smell around me, the earthy smell of the dirt around me, and just the noise that belonged to the wilderness. The freshness of the air invaded my body as I soon felt my own body betray me.

I collapsed to the ground with my eyes filled with tears and relief. My hands went directly against the ground, causing some of the rocks nearby to jump at the force I had produced. It was already supernatural, my body was not my own anymore.

I knew I had to leave soon and explore the world around me, and yet I just stayed there. Collapsed on the ground with tears flowing down my face. It felt relieving to be out of that dark and silent place.

Yet, there was still something missing. Where am I? If I did get sent to a different world, could I perhaps get back to my home?

Fuck. Why was I the one chosen? Couldn't it have been someone else who suffered this fate? Couldn't I just be at home and be myself? Yet, the smile remained on my face, contradictory to my own thoughts.

Where was my home…?!

After around 30 minutes or so I was able to finally get back on my legs without staggering. My clothes were becoming dirty as a result of the ground. By using the blood that was still stained on my clothing I was able to easily remove it with my [Ice Control].

Yet there were more questions.

The bloodied blades from earlier were gone, but there was still a bunch of blood on my clothes just now…? Although I can no longer remember the clothing I wore before I was teleported, I knew what I wore was definitely not a Hanfu for males.

It was a white on the inside with a light blue cloak endowed with countless clouds as the robe. There were also countless silver accessories on it with a unique motif that seemed like a bird.

I calmed down before searching slowly for a water source. A water source could lead to civilization and I needed someone to talk to. Anyone to talk to would be fine, as long as they were alive.

I kept my guard up as I wandered around the forest while adeptly avoiding any creature that came near. I stayed away in order to determine what kind of world I had been sent to. Perhaps it was a medieval world considering the goblins, but it could have been made by the system.

With my current control of ice I could use the blood on my clothes to instantly form a weapon to catch an opponent off-guard. So with my current skill set it's better to wait and determine the situation since I could do countless sneak attacks.

What I'm hoping is that this isn't some kind of stupid cultivation novel filled with young masters and old masters spawn camping.

A chilling feeling crossed my body as I remembered a certain defeat, but I couldn't make out many details about it.

This better not be a red flag.

…

I soon reached a source of water without my [Instinct] flaring up, and upon reaching it it was a terrifying discovery.

I now have medium length blond hair styled into a ponytail with curtain bangs. Paired with yellow-amber eyes, and a single black stud earring on my left ear. Cloud and swallow motifs, as well as heavy asymmetry, were shown to me.

Paired with the blue Hanfu and inner white clothing, and a teenage appearance I looked like a certain someone.

A name bubbled up inside my head as I remembered a name–Yanqing.

Out of all of the people possible, I couldn't even look like someone who won battles? I mean it's at least not potential man. If this is a Wuxia or a Xianxia world then I should probably just hide… Could I not have my original, handsome, beautiful, and cute appearance?

Don't look at me like that, I was definitely like that! Curse you imaginary viewer!

How did I look like again–?

The revelation of my current appearance did bring an enormous amount of questions, but it was something I could handle later. I'm definitely not malding over this appearance.

While I squatted down and lamented my fate, cursing vengeance upon whoever cursed me with this appearance, my [Instinct] flared up. My eyes snapped towards the incoming danger and I backflipped from my current position onto a tree branch, dodging an arrow that flew in my direction.

It seemed to be a stray arrow without any specific direction, but from the speed and velocity of the arrow it seemed that this was a supernatural world. The arrow zipped by at an insane speed, surpassing any bullet I've seen. If it wasn't for my instinct I could have been heavily damaged.

The arrow had pierced several trees along the way, pulverizing anything that was in its path.

I calmly determined the direction of the arrow with my new-found calculation ability, damn I wish I had it for my classes, I was able to locate the original location of the arrow shooter. I dashed at an inhuman speed.

It took me around 42 seconds to reach my destination, and by then it was a complete ruin. A battlefield filled with countless corpses. Blood was everywhere, and my eyes began to redden ever so slightly. Countless screams and roars came from every direction.

The noise from the battlefield riled up something inside my body, and I couldn't stop it.

There were some memories calling out to me, no, it wasn't calling to me but someone else…

A call by a man with white hair wielding some kind of polearm. And a shocking thunderbolt in the background, blocking out any words the man was trying to convey. Yet the words that were unheard were known to my body.

The general–is calling out to me!

The urge to kill came once more, but this time I was able to rein it in. Calmness and focus took over my body forcibly as if it was the result of resisting it. I could feel my control over my own body disappear…

Swords manifested from the countless corpses upon the battlefield, with blood as their main material. Unlike before, the swords were now more visible and identifiable.

A total of 6 bloodied swords flew towards the body of the boy, ready to be deployed once more just like the old times.

The body of the boy jumped upon one of the bloodied blades, ready to kill once more. Spiritual Energy around the area was bubbling due to the concentration of malice and hatred.

The atmosphere began to chill as frost permeated the air.

The original yellow amber color began to change. The color slowly morphed into red eyes and began to deepen once more.

[Swallow's Pluvious Pursuit]

 …

When I eventually woke up I was in a situation like the last, with my clothes and face filled with blood and corpses everywhere.

My vision was back, but there were no memories unlike last time. The only thing I had felt was a foreign object near me. One look downwards showed a middle-aged face filled with pure shock. Yet from the head onwards, there was nothing left.

I couldn't stop myself from puking. Yet, there was nothing left for me to puke, resulting in anguish and agony at what I had done. My hands trembled as I once more collapsed to the ground.

"HahahahAHHAHAHa", I began to laugh maniacally as I drowned in fear of myself once more. I wanted to just go home…

When I finally woke up once more, it was already night time. And with my awakening, I was met with countless stars and constellations. Each one is unfamiliar to me, except for one. The Big Dipper. A constellation that I could recognize at any time.

I wanted to cry so much, but there were no tears left to shed.

There was hope after all.
