Quite an Elaborate Scheme!
Cynthia's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint flashing within them.
All the earlier conversations seemed like mere preparation, and this was their true objective. She casually swayed the wine glass in her hand and asked, “I'm curious, how would you like me to explain?”
Hearing this, Mrs. Louise secretly sighed in relief. Her tone became more cordial.
“Well, it’s easy. After Joe gives his speech on stage, the reporters will ask about your relationship. At that point, you should step forward and publicly declare that your relationship isn't harmonious, and you initiated the breakup.”
This plan was both opportunistic and self-serving!
Clearly, Joe had abandoned her and chosen Naomi.
Now, to protect Joe's reputation, and to prevent the Louise Family from being labeled ungrateful, they wanted her to bear all the blame and public criticism.
