"immortality"
Before reading the story you have to know that the world in vol 1 is only based on earth so the actual historical events may differ from true history!!!

"immortality" as the greatest pursuit of humanity is what everyone desires.
just imagine living endless life without fear of old age and weakness.

July 1st 1541. England
Agust as 3rd son of baron didn't have good prospects for his future, for he was not in succession line.
his only real choice was knighthood.
so from young age of 5 he trained without stop. starting with simple exercise ending on art of sword.
until at the ripe old age of 15 decided on joining the private forces of baron himself (a bit of nepotism if you will)
for next 3 years he was diligently patrolling barons estate. that is until another border skirmish, very common in middle ages.
because of course it is unforgivable offense to call my distant relative a 'rogue'
and so after several minor battles atmosphere got a little heated
and what should've been a minor conflict turned into another civil war
Agust as barons 3rd son and one of leaders in his private forces didn't really have a choice but to go to war
after 5 long years of conflict baron and his allies lost and were stripped of their titles, wealth and land effectively becoming commoners.
Agust didn't end up nearly as bad, keeping knighthood and little land to his name.
after settling in his land with his depressed father he buried his brothers and mother.

3 years later because of severe alcoholism and depression his father committed su***de
(yeah gore and description of cruelty is allowed but I can't write word sscide huh?)
Agust didn't mourn, just buried him next to his mother and brothers.

for next 10 years Agust took care of his land becoming a blacksmith in the village
whenever he wasn't busy with chores and work he practiced sword and did some minor gardening
with his hard earned money bought and read books about all sorts of different things
eventually settling into slow life of the villager

July 1st 1572
at the age of 40 Agust started to notice that although he was visibly aging his strength didn't decrease a tad bit and even grew
looking into rough mirror and flexing muscle
- I'm still a fine specimen
- what a blessing
(looking at well defined muscle being 40 y/o you would also be a tad bit narcissistic)

at age of 60 villagers started being suspicious
at age 65 Agust started pretending to be weaker
at 67 he finally decided to sell all his property under the guise of moving into the city and started hiding in the forest only occasionally moving from one place to another visiting all over English Islands

Agust kept popping up here and there all the way until end of English/Scottish war in 1644
after that covered in white hair and beard at the age of 108 with only his trusty sword and hammer agust decided to visit all over Europe
from France to Russia to Switzerland stopping frequently to see people and cities all over Europe
it took him another 30 years to finish his journey deciding to temporarily settle in alps
after fully settling into age of scientific discovery Agust started to learn intensely hoping to also discover something new

after 10 years into learning process and after realizing just how hard It is to learn and discover new things without enough knowledge and resources
using resources collected all throughout his journey Agust decided to buy and renovate a library in Bern expanding it quite a lot, adding large amount of books and making it open to public, for small donation
at the back of the library he opened small cheap school for common folks teaching just basic reading writing and counting
after hiring all the staff, teacher and librarian
it was 1686 already

after 3 years of smooth running Agust retreated into his private laboratory, instructing staff that unless serious in circumstances arise to not disturb him
aside for 3 meals a day
and so the business is thriving
new books incoming each day
school wing is also very popular requiring couple expansions
with each year library is expanding more and more
finally in year 1700 Swiss parliament decided to reward Agust with the honorary title of highest librarian
and so Agust is no longer knight York as per his title and last name but
"knight librarian Agust Percival Frank York"
After receiving the title Agust decided to set up "secret society of library" or just "library"
aiming to hide less ethical of his experiments, mainly experiments on human anatomy construction and 'betterment'.

in 1701 Agust was 'pronounced dead' to hide his age, and his formal disciple 'took over' the library.
'died' at age of '101' named one of the oldest in known world
in 1709 hall deep underground was finally built and became a meeting place for "library" public didn't know anything about it and officials kept it of the record
in 1714 after several minor assassinations only trustworthy members remained
1715 under joint strength of major donors and 'scientists' the "library" was finally stable

Agust looked into mirror and looking at his dim golden brown eyes exclaimed
-why am i still alive!
-am i immortal?
-its a curious thing
-it seems i will have to awnser this mystery myself
