The first sixty seconds of the test were quite easy as the mass of the barbell felt relatively light and it wasn't enough to disturb me.
But after one minute passed, no, almost one minute, the stress of holding up the barbell for that long and the gradually increasing mass got to me and my arms shook.
The instructor immediately noticed and gave me a (polite?) smile.
"Are you tired? Should I end the test?"
I gritted my teeth and pressed on.
"NO, don't worry I'm ok." I replied.
"I'll have you know that if you run out of strength and the barbell falls you could get seriously injured." Said the instructor. "And I would hate for you to get hurt."
I arms shook again as the mass increased, but I held on.
"Thank you for your concern but I haven't reached my limit yet." I said through gritted teeth.
"OK." Replied the instructor.
