"Accept Your Fate"

"What do you mean, no one noticed anything?" Lu Nanfeng's voice was cold and emotionless. His eyes were glistening with anger and anxiety as he looked at Manager Mo who was standing in front of him looking sheepish.

"The receptionist or the kidnapper happened to have a tool that can wreck security footage. We were all trying to solve the problem when they took the opportunity to escape during this period. 

"Because they took the stairs, they did not encounter anyone, and on the ground floor, the receptionist told the people they encountered that He Lixue was being taken to the hospital because she passed out.

"While some found it strange, no one said anything; they did not want to get involved in the drama."

"So you are telling me that they saw these two people taking Lixue away, but no one stepped forward to stop them, and no one thought of alerting me?" 

Lu Nanfeng's voice was so low and cold that Manager Mo was shaking in fear. "Yes." He could only answer the question he was being given, and he gulped in horror when he saw Lu Nanfeng's anger.

"Are we not hunting them down? Why is it that I still don't know where Lixue is?" 

"They switched cars three times, and while we managed to catch their movements, they continued to leave the capital. Although we could follow them in the capital, we won't be able to when we get out of the capital; there is simply not enough surveillance to do so."

"I don't care what you have to do, you got to find her again," Lu Nanfeng said with a threatening tone, and he was full of anger, mostly towards himself. He had promised to protect her, but she was kidnapped right under his nose, in the middle of his office.

Manager Mo ran out of the room in an attempt at finding He Lixue faster, and when he left, Lu Nanfeng stared at his phone for some time before picking it up and dialed a number.

"About what we spoke about before, I will accept your deal if you can find, and bring back, a certain person for me."

His eyes shone ruthlessly as he spoke. Since the Organization had decided to tear their face with him, they couldn't blame him for not being merciful. 

At the same time, in another car, He Lixue finally began regaining her senses. She realized that she seemed to have thought that everything concerning her rebirth was a dream? Had she just admitted to being the He Lixue who belonged to the Organization? Her face turned pale at a rapid pace, as her heart began beating rapidly in fear.

If she was not the real He Lixue, they might let her go, but if they knew who she was, then they would keep her back forever. One did not leave the Organization, not even if they became a ghost.

Mister Jiang was seated next to her. He saw her eyes returning to their previous state, and he knew that she was sobering up. Her face turned pale, and he could almost hear her thumping heart.

He Lixue dared not even look at him. She knew she had blown her cover, but she was still having a dream, hoping they wouldn't believe in reincarnation.

"So, Lixue, why don't you tell me what happened from the start?" Mister Jiang's voice was gentle and soft, but warning signs were all over He Lixue's mind. Mister Jiang was the strongest assassin under her teacher; she knew better than to believe that he was genuinely gentle. 

He Lixue did not speak. No matter what she said, it would prove to be useless. He would be able to turn it around and play with her, using her own words against her.

"Are you not going to speak?" Mister Jiang asked, his eyes looking at the unfamiliar face, with the familiar expression. 

When he had first found this woman, he just wanted her to act as a substitute for his Master to get over He Lixue's death, but now that he somehow knew that it was the real He Lixue, he was quite excited.

Master would finally be able to get what he wanted. After her death, he had been extremely moody and aggressive. He had murdered so many people that Mister Jiang had lost count, with her back by his side, he would become reasonable again.

So Mister Jiang found his phone and dialed his Master's number. It rang twice before being picked up.

"I got her."

"..."

"It's her; she recognized me the moment she saw me." 

"..."

"We will head towards the base just outside the capital."

"..."

"Well, we can wait."

After saying the last words, he ended the phone call, and looked at He Lixue with some pity.

"Lixue, you should not have tried to run away from Master. He is quite displeased with you, and now he is coming to the base to see you in person.

"I know you plan on pretending not to know us, but you know Master, if he gets too annoyed, he will kill you. I am telling you this for your own sake, don't put up a fight, just accept your fate."

He Lixue was silent as she thought of what to do. Her teacher would indeed kill her if she annoyed him too much, and since they already knew, she might as well admit it. 

Hopefully, she would be able to lower their guard after a bit of time had passed, and then make her escape. She had no intention of leaving Lu Nanfeng and her current life behind.

But was Brother Nanfeng even worried about her disappearance? Was he feeling guilty? She hoped not; she did not want him to feel bad.
