CHAPTER 16: THE KEYS

~Hauwa~

Ever since Abdullah and his wife left the house, It has been chaos for Hauwa, they told her not to go to school so she could stay home and do what ever they wanted, and she has been obeying them with no complain whatsoever.

She dropped the golden tray which had food warmer for the sixth guest this Afternoon.

She was at the point of crying. Ever since she came to stay with Umma Nana she has never worked like she did today, her back ached and the dark circles around her eyes were darker than ever before, she forcefully smiled to the guest in green lace when Basma asked her why she carried a frown.

"Ehen, Where is that thing i asked you?" Hauwa's heart nearly jumped out of her chest, she thought they had forgetten. Well she hoped they had and was praying to God they wouldn't remember. "What did you ask?." She tried to sound unsure but she failed miserably.

"The keys to my Brother's room." Basma hissed. Eyeing her from her head to her feet which were barefooted on the marble floor. "Its not with me." She stammered, "She doesn't give me her keys when she travels." She lied. She knew it was under her social studies text book on her reading table close to her red pen. Yes she knew exactly where she kept them.

Yushrah looked at her and then smiled, "Don't worry. You can go Hauwa." Yushrah saves her with that sigbature smile on her face. She smiles a lot but she is green snake in a green grass Hauwa thought. She walked to the kitchen and continued washing the plates the last guest ate with.

"Hauuwahh." She heard her name yet again. She whipped her hand with the napkin rushing out of the kitchen. "Inna kike?". It was Umma that called. She motioned with her hands for hauwa to come to her room and she did immediately. She walked in and when she noticed Umma was sat on the bed she looked down to her feet in respect.

"What are you making for dinner." She asked her eyeing her she wondered why her son's wife would take this girl who couldn't cook as a maid, She hated hauwa's cooking. "I was going to ask you after i wash the plates." She was getting annoyed just by her presence and Umma couldn't hide it. Hauwa herself knows she doesn't like her. "Make me some fish pepper soup. Ask the girls what they want to eat the fish pepper soup is enough for me today." She spoke and Hauwa nodded.

Immediately she turned Basma slammed the door shut. Jolting her attention. "Hauwa, so you're here i have been looking for you." Hauwa looked at her eye ball to eye ball. " You said the keys are not with you right?, well I will go and search your room top to bottom. And if I see it." She smiled mischievously. "You would be in so much trouble." Hauwa was positive that she couldn't find it. " Bisimilla let's go and search for it.

Ihsan twirled her waist to the song I was playing from my phone and Nana kept on jumping around her. "ayyyy" she shouted as she danced to the rhythm of the music, The song changed to her favourite and she turned to me grinning, "Dance with me." She didn't ask, She grabbed my hands and i stood there like a statue. I hated dancing but she loves dancing so she forces me to and now i kinda like it.

She moved her legs from left to right then left again making some moves simultaneously with her hands. "C'mon Zawj i thought you Shaku Shaku now." She rolled her eyes. "Nana is getting it sef, look." I looked at Nana and what she was doing what was completely different from what Ihsan did but she atlest tried. Because the exiciment on her face was pure gold. "We would do lessons later abeg." I didn't want a dance lesson because she was an aggressive teacher. "Lets just dance to a slow song." Before she could argue I changed the song, Throwing the phone on a couch i grabbed her waist and she placed her's on my shoulder.

When ever i stand close to Ihsan her beauty enhances her beauty. Even with the grey face mask on her face she still looked beautiful, as the song got slower she rested her cheek on my shoulder. The moment was blissful then i felt little arms wrapped around my leg i looked down and i see Nana shoving her face inbetween our legs.

Ihsan looked down and she smiled as well.

I loved this moment. I think this is my favourite moment. Right now i am with my two favourite girls, I kissed them both on there foreheads. Dropping Nana on the ground i heard Ihsan gasp. "What time is it in nigeria?" She picked her phone tapping on the screen.

She placed her phone on ber ear."Its 11pm here then its 9pm there, Who are you calling." I asked but she was lost in her phone and didn't answer.

"Hello, Hauwa how are you?" I was surprised she didn't call sooner, maybe its because she doesn't trust my mother and which might make her think she is a wicked woman but what she doesn't know is Umma is very nice and she really loves her

The only problem i know my mother has is that Ihsan cannot speak hausa. And isnt fully nigerian And she has always wanted me to marry a full Nigerian. But Ihsan is mixed.

I laid on the king size bed with Nana resting beside me. "Daddyy." She called.

"Yes my love." She giggled. "No only mommy calls me my love. You call me Little one." She corrected sitting up. "Alright little one."

"Mrs rose told us to bring our pets to school. I wanted to take Elsa with me but mummy said Elsa is not an animal. So i want a cat." I don't even know where to get an animal in Abuja, and i hate cats. But if you are talking about cats like tiger's then yes i like cats

"A cat?" She nodded. "Okay I Will get one for you. In Shaa Allah." Ihsan sighed and i looked up to her alluring masked face.

"What happened?" I asked her leaving Nana to her elsa. "Nothing, Hauwa sounded happy." I shook my head, "You dont trust my family." She grabbed my hands. "I trust your dad and you older siblings, And you know i have trust issues." That's true it took her almost a two years to trust me. After i dropped her home the first day we met it took her months before she finally agreed to see me again. I still remember how happy i was even though she didn't smile at me.

We actually had a halal relationship and everything went smoothly until one time i tried to kiss her and I got slapped on the cheek, it was a tragic day for me because she never spoke to me again. I thought that was the end of us, but one faithful day she answered my 220th massage 'happy birthday ihsan, I really hope you find a place in your heart to forgive me' and she replied me an hour later. I still remember every thing like it was just yesterday.
