Where are we going?

"She is my girlfriend".

I looked at Jason and then looked at Kay. The father and son duo looked like they were about to have a physical battle.

"Dad come on!!"

"What"?

Jason countered his now nagging son. They hadn't said much yet but I could already tell that Jason really cherished this son of his.

"Why did you not tell me"?

"I'm telling you now".

Jason said in a pretty calm voice but still, hearing them bicker made me smile a little.

"Still, you should have told me about it before telling others. I had to hear it from all those articles online".

He said like a child who was denied candy on his birthday.

"If it's of any consolation, you are one of the first people to meet her personally".

Jason said and it seemed his son had calmed down a little. He then went close to Kay and patted him on the shoulder while saying.

"You'll get to know her better. For now, I need to see you in my study".

As soon as Kay heard what his dad said, he knew something important had come up so he rushed after him to the study.

"What's going on Dad"?

He asked as he closed the door to the study.

"It's nothing serious, I just want to be sure that we won't have any more issues".

Kay didn't understand what his dad was talking about yet but he simply nodded and say down.

Jason told Kay about Derrick's acquisition and the issues they were having. Although it had already been sorted out, he wanted to make sure that his brother, Derrick was in full control of absolutely everything that had to do with that company.

Kay rushed to pick up his laptop and it didn't take him long before he was able to clarify everything. Hacking into the company's systems and getting hold of all their details including the slush fund that Gloria White had created, he made sure that Derrick would have absolutely no issues when he took charge of the company.

When they were finally done, Jason asked for Nadia but was told that she had gone to sleep. He let it be and went to bed.

A couple of days went by and Jason was just so busy with one thing or the other. Days turned to weeks and even though they got to see each other as they went to work together every day, there was no time to talk.

One evening when Jason was by the window of his study when he heard a knock on the door. He didn't respond but just turned around. The door then opened and Miguel came in and bowed.

"Boss, it seems you'll have to be in LA by tomorrow".

Jason raised one of his brows as that was in no way part of his schedule. He was already glad that he was done with closing some deals which meant he had a little time to spear. He was already planning on having a proper conversation with Nadia tomorrow so why is he traveling to LA?

Miguel didn't wait for his boss to ask before he continued.

"The chairman wants to see all of you before going for his surgery".

Jason understood what Miguel was saying. His grandfather left the country and decided to stay in Los Angeles. According to him, it's the most peaceful place he could find so he decided to settle there. Away from the family business and away from any kind of stress.

But now, his grandfather was going to have a heart transplant and the chances were a fifty-fifty so he probably wanted to see his family in case the surgery did not go well.

Jason closed his eyes gently for a while before opening them in conclusion.

"Get a maid to call Nadia here".

He said and Miguel bowed and left.

I was walking all around my room wondering why it was taking so long to have a conversation with him. I know he has been busy for a while but I also know that he doesn't have much on his schedule for a while. It made me feel like I was the only one affected by the kiss that happened about a month ago.

I was still going back and forth when I heard a knock on the door. I rushed towards the door but when I got there, I paused before opening it.

When I opened it, it happened to be a maid so I said nothing and just waited for her message.

"Good evening ma'am, the boss wants to see you in his study".

My face was straight until I heard that Jason wanted to see me in his study. I tried very hard to hide my excitement but I knew for a fact that my face still lit up a little.

"I'll be there shortly".

I said and when she had left, I closed my door and went to his study. When I got there, he raised his head to look at me and then, he smiled. His smile looked so beautiful and calm that I almost felt my leg feel weak. The things this man does to me without even knowing.

"You are here, I was worried you'd be asleep"

He spoke as I walked in.

"You asked to see me, Sir".

I said as I took my seat.

"You should really stop calling me sir. Just call me by my name".

He said but I said nothing in response as my head faced the ground.

"I'll be traveling tomorrow".

He said and I immediately raised my head to look at him.

'Traveling? Where was he traveling to? Is that what he called me for'?

All those kept running through my mind but then, he spoke which drew my attention back to him.

"Would you... like to come with me"?

I looked at him surprised as I wasn't expecting that he would ask me to go with him.

"Ehm... Where... are we going"?

I asked.

"To see my grandfather".
