It was a Thursday morning and I was done with high school and getting prepared for a new life or you can say another chapter of school.
I was coming down the stairs to meet my parents who sat at the table ready to eat prepared by Natalie my nanny.
I told my parents that I want to be independent but I can't let my nanny go because she is a part of my life.
"Good morning Dad "."Good morning mom" I greeted.."Good morning honey" my dad said ,I didn't get any reply from my mom so I turned to look at her in where she sat with her hand under her jaw and placed on the table. so I quickly understood.
"Mom, thinking again? it's always about your business and never our family,when will you ever stop?" I said while frowning at her. My mom immediately jolted back to reality after hearing my complaint and suddenly she did what she always did.
"Common, my baby that's not it I care about our family very much,it's just that a problem came up in the office and I have been thinking about how am going to resolve it, don't worry after after everything I will focus fully on you,okay??" She said while patting my head when I sat down on the chair next to her on the table. I didn't mind her because I knew it can't even stop.
"Honey, you know your school starts next month and you've not even gotten what you need for school, we can get them next week just note them down, I can get them, your mom will be busy okay?" My dad said.
"Thanks, I love you Dad" I said and hugged him,I looked at my mom from his back and saw mom looking at is while frowning, so I whispered to dad.
" Mom is jealous" i said and we both laughed which made mom more jealous and came to meet me stepping between my dad and i.
"I will miss you my baby" she said hugged me and started shedding tears.
"Mom, stop it you are going to make me cry too,I won't see you guys everyday anymore,I should be more sad because I won't know anybody,but you guys have each other and your business"after saying it my dad came to meet us and also hugged us.
"Family bonding" i said knowing it was one in a while I get this but I have my way,I smiled secretly.
I decided to try something to see if it will be done."mum, you have a call from Jordan - mum's assistant." I said sharply. Mum quickly parted from the hug and ran to check on her phone which I said was displaying a call from Jordan but wasn't true. After checking her phone screen she looked at me guiltily with pleading eyes then started coming to meet me slowly with stretched hands.
"Baby am so sorry, I didn't mean to" mum said to me pleadingly. " yeah, you really didn't mean to, I just tested you right now. You are so obsessed to your work, you never care about how I ever feel about everything." I retorted angrily and turned backwards to the stairs moving to my room. I didn't shed any tears because I knew it will always be like this.
Later in the afternoon, I called Daniella my childhood friend to come spend sometime with me at home.
Phone ringing…then a voice is heard with music at the background. "Hey cam, what's up" Daniella said happily from the other end.
" where are you Dani, I need you right now" I said to her.
" what do you mean you need me right now?" Daniella asked confused. " oh wait, let me guess,you had an argument with your mum and she's not around now and you want me to come make you happy like the good friend I am." Dani added.
"Yes you are right, can you come by now." I said in a hurry.
