Chapter 3: Taken Care

Alix

I was on my way home but I feel my stomach grumbled, I remember that I haven't eaten yet, I saw some street food and I bought some, good thing I saw the food or else I'll starve to death just kidding. I passed by the Sapphire hospital and I saw Skie walking out the entrance, but she bumped into a lady which her phone slipped out her hand then she apologieses.

"Ugh... stop being spaced out" then she continues walking to the opposite route I'm going

Did she not see me? What is she doing in the hospital anyway, I can't shake the thought that she's hiding something? I entered the hospital with my food –even though it's not allowed–I approached the reception.

"What can I help you, young man?" black haired, middle age women asked me

"Is there a patient named Skie Summers?" I asked tapping my fingers in the desk getting anxious

"Let me check for a second" She then check some list of the patients "Skie Summers...Summers...Summers" she mumbled as she went through the list

"Ah! Skie Summers! The girl who rejected the medicine weeks ago" she said then look at me "Yes she's one of our patient here"

"May I know what's her sickness" I ask, I am getting curious and scared

"Are you associate with her?" tilting her head and cross her arms

"I-I... I'm her.." thinking a word I could say. Sorry Skie but I had to know "I'm her boyfriend" and gave her a warm smile, please fall for it.

She looks shock then smiled "I didn't knew our angel had a boyfriend" then she chuckled "That girl is good at hiding" then she shook her head then smile

"Why didn't she told you? You're her boyfriend! Anyways if can't tell you then I will her sickness is..."

No she can't be..

Skie

I woke up with some liquid coming out of my nose, I look at my pillow I saw b-blood stains. I look at my mirror which is in front of my bed.

"Fuck!" I almost stood up as I feel my legs wobble which made me sit down again

"Skie!" my eyes widen as I heard that voice "A-alix"

"Hey, are you alright?" he then grabs my arm and put around his shoulder for support "W-what are you doing here?"

How is he here? What is he doing here? Does he kn-

"I'll tell you later, but for now let's clean you up" he said looking at me with concern in his eyes

We walk towards to my bathroom; I hold the sink for support. He then asks me where to find new beddings which I told him, he then left so I can have some privacy.

As I was done fixing up myself, I enter my bedroom seeing him holding a porridge I look at him confuse

He sighs "You have high fever, so I made porridge and bought some medicines for your illness" he then places it in my side table.

"But how about school?" I ask looking at my wall clock saying that it's 9:05 am "How about yourself?" I sigh then walk towards him and sit down "Aren't you going?" I asked

"Nah besides I told Ethan to hand me some of his notes" he gave me the medicine first then the porridge

He was about to feed me but I stop him from doing it "I-I can do it myself" then I snatch the spoon from him, he then frowned

"I'm going to stay outside call me if you need me," he told me and I nodded in reply "Oh wait," I called him back and patted the end of the bed signaling him to sit beside me and he obliged

"How did you find out?" I asked him he scratched his nape and averted his gaze and he then started to stutter

"I-I saw you walking outside the hospital on my way home and I kind of did ask the receptionist about you and why you were there" He told me still not looking straight

"Well didn't she ask you who you were or what was your relationship to me" I asked him and he averted his gaze more "And um I kind of told them I was your boyfriend" and he kept scratching his nape "Even though I'm not"

"Seriously? You could've said that you're my best friend or my neighbor? Really my 'Boyfriend'" and I made a face to him, he then look at me with his blushing "S-sorry I panicked!"

"But she fell for it" giving me his warm smile, I still wear my bored face, how will I deal this? I didn't expect him to know that!

"Hey I'm sorry alright, I just-" he was cut off by a phone ringing, my phone is ringing! I tried to get up but my legs don't cooperate, Alix just stood up and gave my phone to me, I say a little thanks and he nodded

"Hello?" as I answered the phone "Skie! You're alright I thought something had happened to you!" Oh it's just Beverly…wait how did she know my phone number?? I look at the I.D. caller, what in the world? She used Lance's phone!

"Hello? Skie? Are you still there?"

"Yeah I'm still here, did you borrow Lance's phone?" I asked starting to get a little jealous?

"Uhuh, he's talking with his teammates he told me to call you since you're still not here. By the way, where are you?" She asked

"I'm at home, I can't go to school today, I'm a bit…" I look at Alix "…sick" then I look away

"Oh, Take care! I'll tell Lance that you're at home" she was about to hang up but I stop her "Wait! Can you tell him that he won't visit me here" I said but I hear silence from the other line "Please…." I was about to hang up because of the silence, but my eyes widen "Sure, See you tomorrow, I guess?" then it hanged up

So, Lance heard it…

"So what did he said?" Alix asked, watching me putting my phone in my side table "He'll see me tomorrow, I guess he was worried because the tone of his voice" I frowned

"I'll be going then, my mom needs me at the shop since I told her I won't be at school because I was taking care of someone" he smiled then left with the porridge in his hand

I feel my head ache, I think it's because of the medicine so I lay down feeling the comfort of my bed. As I feel my eyes getting heavy.

The next day, I felt my body getting better thanks to Alix, I guess I owe him.
