Lihua parted her lips to say something but shrunk back at her partner's declaration. Mei Deng and Chen Zi exchanged glances with each other, utterly left speechless at the woman's declaration.
'What could she mean by widow?' Mei Deng noticed the look of regret on Dou Wei's face, and knew that there were things both women wished to keep hidden.
Before he could ask about it, the sound of a vase cracking drew their attention. Mei Deng suddenly remembered Dou Wei had tied up the herbs dealer outside, with intention to have him questioned.
He sighed, 'If I knew that Chen Zi was such a talent in flowers and herbs, I wouldn't have bothered with him. That uncle needs a good psychologist.'
"That geezer! If he breaks any of the good vases..." Dou Wei remarked, rolling up her sleeves, pretending as though the outburst had never happened.
Lihua coughed, "I'll continue prepping the dishes, customers will soon start pouring in." She said, turning to retreat into the kitchen.
"Zi'er."
