*The Night Before*
Mei Deng heaved a sigh of relief when he noticed a figure holding a candle, crouched down by the entrance of the Yu residence. He at first thought it was a servant, but when he realized that there were no more servants serving under them, he turned pale.
"Huahua?" He gasped, using the light from the candle to make out her clothes.
On hearing Yu Xiaoguang's voice, Chunhua rose from her sitting position and rushed over to him, frantically searching for wounds.
"It really is you, young master." She exclaimed, still in disbelief that the Wang general kept his promise.
"Let's get you cleaned up first, I've made all your favorite foods." Chunhua told him, taking off the blanket she wrapped around herself, hanging it on Yu Xiaoguang's shoulders.
Mei Deng felt a sharp pain in his chest, 'there's no how she would have known I would be coming back tonight. Was Chunhua cooking and waiting up for me the entire time I was away?' he felt uneasy just thinking about it.
