Mei Deng did not know whether to laugh or cry when the blame was pushed onto him. It was as though a doubt he had had been confirmed, but that did not mean he wanted it to come to fruition.
As all eyes darted to him, he felt the need to defend himself, but before he could say anymore, a crying Da-Xia emerged from inside. The shock of waking up and not seeing her Bàba was too great for the child.
"Da-Xia!" He made a motion to stand up, only for Shaojie to beat him to it, he grabbed Da-Xia by the wrist and attempted to drag her inside.
"No! Bàba! Leave me alone!" She protested, fighting against Shaojie's insane grip strength.
"Take that filthy child inside! I hate the sight of it!" Tingting screeched in horror, Ju swiftly pulled out a silk scented handkerchief and passed it to her mistress.
Mei Deng clicked his tongue and attempted to stand up without being told to do so. Whether he was disrespecting the general or courting death, he frankly did not care enough.
