Chapter 4: Work

After solving the problems that concerned their partners, the five sat down on the floor, forming a circle with a bonfire at the middle.

"After a few hours of going around and around, this is the best we could get, huh"

The five who were exhausted from hunting wild animals with little to no experience while scavenging edible plants base on a book they bought, were salivating as they looked at the little amount of food they got that is now beeing cooked.

"Good thing we bought a shelter~"

Marco lifelessly said as he looked outside.

The five felt somewhat lucky despite their current circumstances as they saw that they do not have to suffer the strong chilly winds of the night.

After eating the roasted, poorly butchered, rabbits and some bland plants the five of them slept on their rooms with their 'partners'.

[Second Day]

A loud ring echoed throughout the castle.

"What!"

"Haaaa!!!"

The five immediately gathered, worried that there is an emergency.

"Do we have to go through this shit every single day?"

"It doesn't look like we have any other choice now, do we?"

With nothing else to do, they all went outside and looked at the <Garden bed> they bought.

"How long does it usually take for crops to grow?"

"Depends. But there are some that grow quickly though"

"Sniff, sniff... eack!"

"We should take a bath"

The five went to the side where they placed the well.

"AQA, are you sure about what you said yesterday about the well?"

[Yes. That well does not have a limit, instead you will need to take the water yourselves. Otherwise, no one will be able to do it]

While there was a condition that only they can do it, it was illogical for them to see an endless supply of freshwater.

But soon accepted it as the truth since to begin with, them being in another world is also illogical.

"I feel alive now"

"Never knew taking a bath in the open would be so refreshing"

"I know right"

"How about we build a big pond to grow fish?"

"Why would we use our points for something we can just get from the river?"

"I will do it myself with my gargoyle later. I assure you it will be beneficial for us"

"Since you already have something to do, I will go back to the forest later"

"My naga technically needs water so I will also be going to the river"

As they bathe, they all talked out what they were going to do today.

After a few hours of working within the castle walls, their 'partners' started to gain consciousness one by one.

"We should at least make some clothes for them"

"Agreed"

"We'll be taking leaves and vines from the forest then"

Each one of them were amazed by the sight of another foreign creature moving.

While their decisions yesterday was on a whim, they still cannot believe that they just created life.

Each of them introduce themselves and got to know each other.

The ones they created from the <Market> were being who did not possess any memory as if they were born just now.

However, while they do not remember anything, they do possess the skills and knowledge that was on the description in the <Market> making it easy for them to know what to do.

Aldo and his Gargoyle created a small pathway from the river to outside of the castle and proceeded to make a big pond which was only possible with the Gargoyle's strength and infinite stamina.

Meanwhile Charlie and his Naga, Anise, were building a small dam.

Unlike the usual dam, they created dozens of small holes so that the fish would that follows the water's movement will go to the path that Aldo created without disturbing the water flow.

With this, they have created a fish farm.

"I thought you were going to make a big pond for the fishes?"

"Yeah... but while my Gargoyle has infinite stamina and is three times stronger than me, he needs to rest for three hours after an hour of moving"

"How useless"

"At least he doesn't need to eat, shit, or drink. Anyways, why are you here?"

"I'm going to make the pond bigger. Actually, we might as well make it into a medium size lake"

"What for?"

"Anise needs to sleep under the water. As her creator, I am obliged to give her needs I also want to make sure nothing is wrong with her habitat"

While Anise was in the river finishing the dam, while both Charlie and Aldo were like dogs as they dug dirt with their hands on all fours.

"I feel stupid"

In the forest, the other three were scavenging for food with their partners feeling stupid about one thing.

"I have brought all the needed plants, my master!"

Lexi, the elf, did not need the book about plants as he can differentiate the edible plants and the dangerous ones.

Feeling that they spent their precious points on nothing, the three could not help but feel stupid.

"Let's continue working. It is not like we can go back in time to change the past"

Leon with his ghoul partner, Persephone, looked for wood that can be use as firewood.

Tony with his beastkin partner, Veronica, used their agile movements and traps that they laid out to capture wild animals such as rabbits and a deer.

Marco with his elf partner, Lexi, continued to gather more and more edible plants that they can eat as well as to what they can plant in the garden bed.

"Hey, Tony, what did you use to do back in our world?"

"Well... I was a web comic artist. I play a lot of games that let's me shoot others and curse since it is fun killing egotistic assholes ingame.

I am pretty confident when it comes to control and precision so that is also the reason why I chose <Marksman>"

"What about you, Leon?"

"Why should I tell you?"

"It's just us here. Besides, it is not like we would care about it no matter how weird it is"

"Right, right. Let's just say that this is us knowing each other"

The two teamed up to get information about the bossiest one among the five.

"I was an executive of DLM company. In my spare time, I would play those mafia games you see in the game store and detective games as well"

"Oh, so you're a detective then?"

"Of course not. Anyway, why is Veronica the one carrying the deer?"

"She is much stronger than I am"

Tony reluctantly said.

[Warning: A group of trolls spotted the castle]

[They will attempt to attack and loot it after three days after making preparations]

[A mission has been generated]

[Mission grade: S]

[Mission Difficulty: E~C]

[Protect the castle (1)]

Mission description: A group of wandering troll patrol saw the castle and went back to their village to report this to their chieftain. After seeing a potential treasure chest, they have decided to attack anyone inside and loot all resources for the betterment of their village.

Objective: Do not let them kill anyone. Do not let them steal any resources.

Reward upon completion: Enhanced farm tools. Points (May varry depending on how you will resolve the problem)

Failure to complete the objective: Fall of the castle. A random person will die.
