Rabon Fooz's POV-
My job as Givi's assistant is going quite well. I don't have to do much as nobody talks to her anyway. It's easy to tell that she is not liked by anyone in the whole school. Only Bala and sometimes Kiara try to have a conversation with her. But she replies with short sentences. Even with me she just gives me commands. Today is also going to be the same.
We entered the classroom and were greeted by the siblings and Risa on our way. We sat down and waited for the homeroom teacher to enter the class.
"Settle down kids. I have arrived. Get ready for your roll calls." he said while looking in the file. In a few minutes, the roll calls had been taken. Two were absent as usual but nobody paid any attention to it.
"I have an important announcement to make so everybody listen carefu-" the middle-aged teacher halted as the class door opened. A boy entered the class.
"Oho, Where have you been Mr. Mirik. How typical of you to arrive late to school." the teacher asked sarcastically.
"Sorry Sir, I have been a bit busy," he replied which in turn shocked the teacher.
"Did you apologize just now?" the teacher asked with his eyes wide open.
"When did you start respecting your teachers," he added. The boy didn't reply but just smiled at the teacher making him more uncomfortable.
"Go take your seat." the teacher said still shocked from before.
The boy started moving and sat on the seat beside the window. The atmosphere of the class had totally changed. All the kids in the class tried to not look in the boy's direction like they were afraid of him. Kiara was grinding her teeth while making a fist. Bala smiled seeing the boy and nodded towards him, the boy acknowledged his gesture with a nod of his own. I didn't see it clearly but Givi was smiling and...blushing.
But the biggest reaction was given by Risa. She waved toward the boy and he just gave her a shocked look. After he settled down the teacher continued his previous interrupted statement.
"Now listen to me carefully. The tournament this year is going to take place in a month. So we are going to start our training with the other sections from tomorrow onwards. Is that clear?" the teacher asked the students.
A commotion ensued in the classroom. Kids were agitated and excited at the same time. I had heard about the tournament that he just mentioned. It was an annual tournament that took place every year where the students fight each other. It is mostly inter-class fighting but for the students in their last and second last year it was a free for all tournament. This was the first time for the students to fight students older than them so their excitement was justified.
Everyone started talking with their friends about what will happen this time.
"So who do you think will win the overall championship this year?" a girl asked her friend.
"Is that even a question? It will surely be Singha the lion from the other section." the other replied.
"What about Loki the wolf? He was runner up last year." another chimed in.
"I think you guys are forgetting about Linsie the white snake, the overall champion of last year." a boy interrupted.
Speculations of who would win started taking place. I looked at Bala and he was excited as well. It was his first tournament but his excitement would tell you another story.
"Kiara this is our chance. We can win this tournament and get stronger than ever." Bala said while grinning.
"What do you mean 'we', I will be the one to win this tournament," she replied with confidence.
"What about you Rabon, are you going to fight too," Bala asked me.
"I think the rule states that everyone has to fight but I will try to withdraw from the fights as soon as possible." I calmed him down.
"It's going to be fun. I think how Mirik will perform in the tournament. What was his previous record anyway?" Bala mumbled to himself.
"He never participated in any of the tournaments." for the first time Givi initiated by herself.
"What? Why?" Bala asked jumping out from his seat.
"I don't know much but one time he was talking to the teacher and told him that his uncle didn't want him to take participation."
