Today, I woke up without anyone's help. I dressed and put on my makeup, but no one bothered to come into my room. I felt a little bit sad because when Sylvia was with me, she made me feel like I didn't have to do anything. Now, I remember how I was living from the beginning.
I get all my things ready because today is the day I will run away. I grab my pack and reach my secret jar under my bed to put it in my pack. I make sure everything in the jar, including the secret map and some money, is packed. I also grabbed the book I was reading because I hadn't finished it and some of my cheap clothes because they were small and wouldn't make the pack too heavy. I close it and put it under the bed because if anyone comes in, they won't suspect anything.
I open my door to find Ethan waiting for me outside, so I pull him inside my room and close it. "Ethan, you have to remember we will run away, but not at night. Probably in the middle of the day because most of the workers are on a break, so it will be easier to sneak out." He agrees with everything I say, but his look is still a bit gloomy because he doesn't want to betray anyone. I don't want to drag him into this situation.
I ask him politely, "If you feel uncomfortable going on my journey, I will find another way to save Sylvia. Don't worry." But he looks me straight in the eyes without any hesitation, takes his sword out, and gives it to me. "My princess, I will be loyal to you in the brightest day and the darkest night. I will not leave you alone in this dangerous situation. After all, you are doing so many things for us, and we haven't returned it. You always help us with kindness, and I know you still feel guilty from yesterday." I feel relief, but I look at the sword and give it to him to be proud when whoever holds it remembers that I will always protect them.
He was happy, but my mind was overthinking the plan because if anything went wrong, all of my friends would die, and I would be the first one on the list. So I get up, and he looks at me knowing that he has to escort me. I tell him where I have to go. He leaves me to the breakfast room, but no one is there. The only thing I can see is food. Kyle is not at the table, and even Ava is not there. From this point, I know Kyle probably knows most of my plan, but to make something not obvious, I take my day normally.
I take my day normally, so after breakfast, I go to the working room, and I don't find Kyle or the assistant. Things begin getting more suspicious. The only thing I could do was return to my room until one of the maids informed me that a tea party had been hosted, and they invited me.
I take the invite and see who this person is. To my surprise, it was so obvious. It was Anna. Finally, I guess myself in a good way and let Ethan escort me to the party, but before he left, I reminded him to get the medical equipment slowly. I went to the field in the Castle to find the tea party. The most amazing part was not just Anna; it was also Kyle and Ava. It was the first time they attended one of Anna's Tea Party.
I could see it's not comfortable with them. I sat and tried to be natural without any reaction, but when Anna looked at me, her face was full of worry which meant my dad had given her the message I needed. I smiled at her to not make anything suspicious, but Kyle was not an idiot. "So how do you feel, Mia? Yesterday was a meaningful day. Do you think the same?" You know what he thinks, and I know it's altered, confused, same with Ava, but I look at Anna. I don't want to make anything obvious, and I don't want him to open this topic. "So Anna, long time no see. I miss you, do not that," she says mildly, and she begins to tell me how she felt and how her day went. She forgets the existence of Ava and Kyle, but Ava doesn't like that. So in the middle of our talk, Ava begins to say things that have no sense at all, and this makes the tea party more awkward and uncomfortable.
The only thing that makes it uncomfortable is Ava and Kyle, like impostors between me and Anna. I can't say everything to her if the two of them are here. She looked like she knew some of the secrets between me and Anna in our talk. No one knew about it, not even my dad, but suddenly I stopped talking, and Ava thought that I didn't know her, so she introduced herself. "So Princess Mia, my name is Eva and you can call me Princess Ava if you want. Nice to meet you anyway." It makes me angry because she doesn't have the title from the beginning. What makes it more terrible is Kyle didn't put anything. He just said, "Okay, you are a princess. I don't care." So yeah, she believes herself too much. But during a trash talk, oh no, give me some tools under the table and a paper. I slowly put them in my pocket in my dress because I don't want anyone to see them.
I see Anna get more relieved, and so am I. Anyway, I nod at everyone and excuse myself, but Anna whispers to me, "We will see each other, but not now. We will talk about everything." I am not happy. I can see Kyle absorbing everything, and Ava still trying to get more attention from everyone and acting so stupid. I don't want to be in it because it's getting more awkward and more uncomfortable. I informed Kyle that I would be going, and now he says okay. I took a deep breath and got up to go to my carriage. It was stressful and not as relaxing as it was supposed to be. Anyway, I returned to the castle, feeling like I was going to a ghost house full of broken mirrors that wanted to make me regret every step.
When I opened the door, Ethan welcomed me with an open heart, making me smile and reminding me that life is full of lovely people. He took my hand and escorted me to my room. I made him enter my room. "Ethan, when you save Sylvia, where are you going because you can't hide in my father's place?" He looks at me and in a movement of silence, he gets a paper and a pencil and gives me a small map to follow. "Princess, when you go to this place it's a quiet spot, so I will make some adjustments to it, and we can live there, and no one knows." I listen carefully because I have to be with them, but I remember when Anna gave me some stuff I needed to see them. So I put them on my desk. They are small tools that could help me crack the locks. She gave me two, one for me and one for Ethan, and she gave me a map.
On the map, I found a note. The note said that this map was for the Castle from the inside and gave me all the different ways to go in and out of the castle in secret.
I slowly and cautiously navigate the problem. I have to descend the stairs and maneuver through the maids; they could easily expose me. Consulting the map, I discover the library already boasts a secret door.
Swiftly, I sprint to the correct library, ensuring no one observes me. I open it, head to C11, and press numerous books. The first and second ones failed, but in the end, I found the right book. It opens a secret tunnel.
Reviewing the map, I realize the tunnel leads not only to the kitchen but also to a secret room. My curiosity prevails, leading me to a dusty diary. I take it, thinking it might hold something valuable.
Returning to my route, I reach the kitchen, thankfully empty as the workers are in the dining room. However, the doors leading behind the castle are locked. Despite my efforts, using tools, they won't budge, and I find myself stuck.
Attempting once more, I'm not swift enough as the workers return. I retreat to the secret tunnel, closing it discreetly. Consulting the map again, the only viable exit is the front door. However, I heard Kyle is now in the castle.
Swiftly reaching the front door with a lock, I open it only to find Kyle at the top of the stairs. "Mia! Why are you running again? Why are you leaving me? I trusted you for once. I gave hope to you. I thought you were worth it, but now you've destroyed everything in my heart, Mia. I will find you one day. Don't step outside. Please understand me."
Without uttering a word, I exit, running to my horse. Riding swiftly, I feel the freedom I hadn't experienced in so long. Glancing back, he watches me leave.
I don't look back; nothing can change it. I wonder why he didn't let anyone chase me as before. Does he suspect the truth? I refuse to believe it. I hope Ethan and Sylvia are okay and have managed to escape. My horse stops, and I recall I must see my father before nightfall. Urging my horse to the front door, I knock, and my father opens it. Tears fall as I hug him, fearing it might be the last time. He hugs me back. "Mia, I still see you as my brave daughter. You make me see your potential. We can't talk much now. Go to your destiny, find your way, don't let anyone control you, and no matter what people say, I will always be proud of Secrets Weaved in Moonlightof you." Wiping my tears with a soft smile, he bids me farewell. I board my horse, glancing at the maps Ethan and Sylvia provided, heading to the rendezvous point.
