What did you do?

'You were strong, but not enough. You destroyed the ground but that caused the one pinned to the wall to break free and that resulted in 2 getting killed. Truly a maddening experience' thought Loki as she looked at Clarion looking emotionless at the corpse of Violet.

As she thought that, another goddess was looking at something entirely different. Freya, the goddess of love, beauty, war, fertility, and death. As someone with a domain over death, she could see the souls of everyone single entity and at that moment she saw something very interesting.

The soul of Clarion was a little unique compared to other souls. His was dark white with 3 stripes. One red, one blue, and one purple. Each one was the origin of his skills. It wasn't rare as during her entire life she saw a lot of mortal souls like that, with stripes. But when Clarion used his skills, specifically the one associated with the red stripe, his soul would turn a vibrant crimson-like color.

It would start slowly but surely, every part of his soul would be consumed. Except, for the other 2 stripes. They would persist and fight for their place. Damaging the soul but fixing it with its essence, functionally expanding itself. But the red one would grow alongside them, damaging the soul and fixing it but recovering its lost domain.

It should be a known factor to all gods that if one damaged the soul, the owner of it would suffer immeasurable pain, and if damaged enough, a very painful death. Something that should have happened according to her knowledge because Clarion's soul damaged itself and repaired very fast the cracks in it. After the death of the two levels 1, his soul exploded in a crimson red.

And in the process of expanding it cracked the soul, but fixed it. And then, once everything passed, once the storm calmed itself, the vibrant red color got subsumed by soft indigo. As if his soul was enslaved by his feelings, instead of being the power and blank sheet that everything about someone was written.

Up till now, Freya hasn't seen anything similar happen to anyone else and live to tell the tale. Not only nearly destroying his soul but fixing it and living without a scream of pain, distress, or misery. Nothing. Just... Continuously fighting for his familia. With that on her mind, she smiled and then thought 'things are going to get interesting in the following years. If someone like him exists, changes in the natural order are bound to happen. I only want to see it in person... Should I tell ottar to test him? Hmmm, I wouldn't want him broken, but considering his situation right now, he should be a broken man unless his fortitude is strong'.

While gods and goddesses thought or reveled in the pleasure of the results of the war game. Mortals were thinking very differently. Some thought that the situation of Clarion was miserable, while others thought about vain things like 'how could he kill a beautiful woman like the vice-captain of Thor's familia?' or 'how could he let the girls die!?'. Truly stupid things that only mortals could think of without minding the pain and suffering of strangers.

In the HoF, the girls were all looking shocked and worried. Shocked because they didn't think that the amiable old man that stayed there, was capable of brutally killing people, and worried because of his reaction to the death of everyone and how he was crying while cradling the head of Violet. They knew that the friendly old man was strong because he commented to them that he killed Goliath once.

Something that a level 3 could achieve but only after a lot of preparation and with at least a B in every stat, and Clarion told them that he fought it alone. So going with that they assumed he was a level 4, a strong level 4 at that. And they were right he WAS level 4. Now, he is a level 5. A broken level 5. Or so they think.

In the Loki familia manor, Finn looked surprised that Clarion still could move so fast considering his age, but he then remembered that Riveria commented that Clarion tanked a punch of Goliath head-on. Nothing too impressive for them as they were level 6 but, once again, considering his age, he shouldn't be alive after that. So Finn thought that Clarion had a skill or an ability that let him tolerate a lot of damage or accumulate it and then liberate it like when he did in the arena after charging the gauntlets.

Riveria, being the capable mage she is, saw the flow of mana accumulate in his body as if he was a recipient of it, a very resilient one at that because if someone accumulated that quantity of mana they shouldn't be alive after getting damaged. Also, his lightning magic that she saw 3 times already that Clarion possessed and that he could give it to items.

Bete thought that the old man was that, a retired and old adventurer. But today's war game seemed to change that perspective. 'Beware of an old man in a profession where men die young' thought Bete and frowned because that also meant that he should be careful with him, something he didn't want to do as that would mean accepting he was weaker than an old man.

Gareth just looked at Clarion and thought that perhaps Clarion, after this incident would turn into something different, because he saw his familia die, how he killed the enemies, and the guilt he must be feeling because one of his companions did because of HIS spear. 'If you don't turn into an empty shell of what you were... You are a very strong man, Clarion.'

Back to Clarion, he could be seen still caressing the head of Violet, but then he heard Adrian walking toward him so he turned his head and saw his expression. One filled with sadness, anger, fear, and hope. 'Hope for what' thought Clarion as he stood up and left Adrian with the corpse of Violet. 'I should give them a proper burial, even if they are in a very damaged state' thought Clarion as he started walking toward the bodies of Jeff and Saba and then carry them toward the corpse of Claire.

"What did you do?"... Heard Clarion after he put on the ground the corpses of Jeff and Saba. "What do you mean?" replied Clarion and Adrian, the one who made the question, followed with "Why couldn't you stop them or kill them before they did something!??" in a very accusing tone as he directed his gaze to Clarion.

"I... I... Got distracted, I think" replied Clarion with a tone filled with sadness and regret. "That distraction killed them!!!!.... WHY COULDN'T YOU KILL THEM FAST!!!?". Adrian, directed his fury at Clarion, even if Clarion tried to say something, he couldn't reply, nothing would come out of his mouth and Adrian thought that he was ignoring him so he shouted to stop ignoring him.

Clarion stood there hearing him but then turned and looked at Adrian in the eyes with an emotionless face. Something that scared Adrian as he thought that he triggered his anger but then Clarion said "Don't follow that route, boy, unless you want to meet the end of the road". Once he said that he grabbed the bodies of Claire, Jeff, and Saba and went to the head exit where he saw Shakti standing there.

When he passed next to her, she said "I hope you get better soon, nobody should experience that, but life is cruel". Clarion heard that and stopped for a little, then hummed and continued walking towards the exit, leaving behind Shakti who went toward Adrian who was sitting on the ground crying the death of everyone.
