Lecture and...Trouble?

Birds were chirping, adventurers rising to do their daily gain, blacksmiths going to their workshops, potion makers going to work or going to sleep after mixing all night. It was the start of another day.

Clarion opened his eye and muttered 'Today begin the lecture' then he stretched and went to the bathroom to wash his face, and his teeth and take a morning shower. After doing his morning routine he went downstairs and thought 'Now that I joined the Bast familia, should I move to their residence or should I stay here?'.

Once downstairs he saw a brown-haired cat girl with brown eyes and 1.50 meters tall that wasn't there when he arrived yesterday. 'Another cat?' thought Clarion as he said good morning to her and then arrived Chloe.

"Good morning Clarion. Do you want the same breakfast as yesterday nya~?" to which Clarion replied yes and she went back to the kitchen leaving him alone with the brown-haired cat girl.

"What would be your name little girl?" asked Clarion. "I am Arnya Fromel~nya" Replied Arnya with a smile and a curious look in her eyes. "New around here nya~?"

'Nya?... Maybe a trait of cat people, does the chienthrope say woof?' wondered Clarion as he answered back at Arnya and talked about trivial things like his profession or if he had some hobbies.

As time passed, he noticed Arnya behaved like someone innocent or naive, even if her eyes betrayed that "behavior". 'Maybe she was an adventurer or a bounty hunter. Those eyes are the same as Chloe and Ryuu. It seems that they have problems of their own.' Soon enough came Chloe with his coffee and she whispered something to Arnya as they both said their goodbyes and left Clarion to his own devices.

After finishing his coffee he left and went directly to the guild to start his lecture, even if it was 7 in the morning, he would wait for the estimated time. Once he was there he saw Misha talking to some adventurers so he decided against disturbing her and went to sit down.

After 30 minutes of waiting, he was Eina leave a room with an adventurer whose eyes betrayed his face as he had a smile but his eyes told that he was annoyed. 'Maybe the long lectures? Or maybe his flirtatious comments were ignored? He seems young and entitled enough to behave like that' Thought Clarion as he analyzed the young man that was ignoring warnings of Eina about going beyond the 24th floor.

"Having troubles right at the start of the day?" asked Clarion with a smile on his face as he approached Eina. "sigh... Yes, I only want them to survive and they seemed to be annoyed by that...sigh... Well, you better prepare yourself Clarion as even if you are a level 4 I will not let you go beyond the 24th floor without knowing every monster and their weakness that appears from the 1st floor to the 24th floor." Replied with a serious tone and a frown on her face.

As she said that Clarion just stood there with a smile on his face because he thought the situation seemed funny to him. He stopped soon enough as Eina seemed to understand his thoughts and frowned deeper, so he told her that he would comply with her request.

When the lectures began, her entire attitude changed from professional to that of a serious teacher, one that was very efficient in doing her job. So they took their time in the lectures. Starting with the goblins and kobolds that appear from the first 4 floors and the large hallway he met the Loki Familia members, to the change in the structure and monsters the deeper one went down in the dungeon.

An example of that was the 10th-12th Floors as they keep the same structure as the 8th-9th Floors, however, the light from above becomes reminiscent of morning mist. The mist on the 12th Floor becomes much thicker than on the 10th and 11th Floors. Large-category monsters such as Orcs and Infant Dragons begin to appear on these floors. These floors are also where monsters use landforms such as trees as weapons seen for the first time.

After 4 hours of lecture, Eina stopped to look at the time and was surprised to see that it was nearly noon so she asked Clarion if he had any questions to which he replied no and told her that he would be going to the dungeon if that was all the lecture of today.

"I will see you tomorrow again at the same time Clarion. We still need to study the monsters that appear from the 26th to 30th floor if you want to go deeper."

"Of course, that wouldn't be a problem Eina. I wish you a good afternoon working with the paperwork Eina". said Clarion while he was leaving for the dungeon.

'Going to the dungeon at noon won't be as profitable as going in the morning, so after we finish the lectures I can't go early. Thought Clarion while nearing the entrance to the way floor.

Descending to the 17h floor didn't pose a threat to him but he had a little fun time dodging the heads of minotaurs that charged at him the moment they spotted him. Arriving near the wall of grief he could see the silhouette of a giant. 'That seems to be the famous Goliath. Nobody has killed it? That's strange, Eina said that it normally east left alive for more than a few days. Maybe it spawned not long ago'.

After he thought that, he went near Goliath to wake it up, and soon enough the walls started breaking, and the Goliath swung its arm toward Clarion so he dodged the side and applied his lightning enchant to the spear.

As the spear got enchanted, lightning seemed to dance around its blade and body without harming Clarion. A truly beautiful scene but equally mortal as Clarion tossed the spear toward the chest of the Goliath. As soon as it hit, it started melting the skin of Goliath and the lightning seemed to spread through its inside, further damaging Goliath. But the main damage came from the spear as it went through its chest leaving a gaping hole that wasn't regenerating because of the lightning.

Clarion looked at this without any emotion on his face and opened his hand to make appear another spear. Once it appeared he charged toward goliath, who was on his knees because of the damage, and stabbed right through its core making it disappear in a fume of smoke and leaving behind a huge monster core that was about 2 meters tall and a drop item known as Goliath's tooth which can be sold to blacksmiths for a fair price. 'It was supposed to be a level 4 monster' thought Clarion with disappointment.

'Well, how do I carry this now?' wondered Clarion when he heard steps coming from the stairs leading to the 18th floor. "we meet again, sir Clarion" said a mature female voice. "So it seems miss Riveria" replied Clarion while turning to her.

Upon turning saw her walking with a blond little girl with golden eyes whose height was about 1.60 meters tall 'seriously, What's up with bringing children down here?'. "Do you know of an efficient way to take this huge core to the surface?" asked Clarion after scanning the area for monsters but finding nothing.

"When we go on an expedition we usually take it in a carriage after we broke it into pieces. Though if you want we can help you carry it to the surface" replied Riveria.

"I would appreciate that, but we are old enough to know that nothing is made out of kindness so I will give you a 10℅ of its value once I exchange it"

"I appreciate your consideration. Do you plan to leave now?" asked Riveria as she saw him pick it up on his shoulder. "Yes, I have been down here enough time" replied Clarion as he walked towards the stairs of the 16th floor.

During the walk, he saw the little girl kill the miniature with a lot of ease so he asked about her to Riveria. "you're new around here?" Asked Riveria but then followed up with public information about Ais.

'So she is a level 5 huh? That's impressive for a child'. Then the great of the trip was made in comfortable silence except for the sounds of slashing and piercing that came from Ais's killing spree.

Once they were outside Clarion went to the guild to exchange the Goliath's core. When they entered and Misha spotted she was shocked, to say the least. "You killed the Goliath!!?... You need to stop giving me surprised like this old man," said Misha in a tired tone.

"HAHAHAHA, I can't promise that but I will try. Can you exchange this for me?". After the exchange was made Clarion got 30.000.000 valis. 'that's impressive. So monster rexes give more in exchange for being riskier'

After Clarion gave Riveria their part, he went to the Bast familia residence to ask about his place to live.
