Meeting Them

Several candles were scattered in Nadja's bedroom, the curtains slightly open, letting a ray of the moonlight in.

Nadja had waited two days for this moment.

Before she could do this spell, she'd been too busy helping the Scooby gang.

Sitting down on the pentagram she'd drawn on the floor with clay, Nadja smiled. "Finally."

The brunette opened the grimoire before her, crushing a few herbs on top of the preferred page. Right after, she opened a box with a rare orchid she'd collected a few years back in Australia, crushing its petals on the book too.

After spilling a few drops of her own blood, Nadja then closed her eyes, chanting. "Phasmatos et vide quid est occultatum," her voice getting louder and louder as she sinked in a trance-like state. "Phasmatos et vide quid est occultatum!"

Feeling a light breeze stroking her face, Nadja gasped, opening her eyes wide as she stared at the beautiful field before her eyes.

It was like she was in another world.

Nadja had done thousands of extremely hard spells, she had seen a lot of things but this ... this took the cake. The dark magic wildly cursed through her veins and she was loving every second of it.

For a siphoner, Nadja felt magic like nobody else. She had none of her own but with the harsh practice she'd had, no one could notice the difference.

Magic had become something Nadja breathed, lived, and even ate. It was her whole life, in every fiber of her being and the reason she'd taken to vampirism so well.

To be able to live forever while practicing magic? SIGN. HER. UP.

"Kol?"

Hearing the deep voice, Nadja turned around to see three quite beautiful people — two brown-haired guys who were clearly brothers and a blonde girl.

The blonde girl's eyes went wide. "What in the worl..." Her voice trailed off when she noticed Nadja.

Huh, Nadja thought, it was just her luck. Instead of one Original, she'd gotten three.

Nadja knew the three Originals before her. Well ... she knew of them.

The man named Finn was supposedly the oldest of the bunch. However, he had not been seen in nine hundred years. Meeting his gaze, Nadja's heart skipped a beat, startling her.

What the hell? Nadja thought. She did not do romance.

The blonde girl was called Rebekah and the last time she'd been sighted was ninety years ago in Chicago.

The last man on her left was Kol, who had not been seen in over a century. His deep brown eyes were pleasing to Nadja's eyes, making her inwardly roll her eyes at herself.

Here she was, a powerful, five hundred years old hybrid, having a girly crush on Original vampires.

She'd felt that way only once.

Five hundred and some odd years ago when she'd spied on her sister in England, Nadja's heart had beaten for two noblemen in disguise — Elijah and Niklaus Mikaelson.

Falling for four brothers, Nadja shook her head. Greediness was indeed something she and Katherine shared.

"Who are you?"

Quicker than Nadja could have expected, Kol appeared in front of her, trying to compel her.

"Nice try, love," Nadja smirked before she thrust her hand and chanted. "Ventus."

The spell propelled Kol several feet back, the Original landing on his hands and knees.

What a pretty picture.

Seeing Finn's eyes narrow, Nadja held her hands up.

"Not so fast, darling. I don't know how much time I have and this is too fascinating."

Rebekah cocked her head to the side. "Are you the one who did this?" The blonde then narrowed her eyes on her. "You're a witch."

Kol had long stood back up, eyeing Nadja with interest.

"And you bear an awful resemblance to someone we all knew," Finn mentioned the elephant in the room.

The three Originals could clearly see her startling resemblance with Tatia.

Rebekah shrugged. "Prettier than the other one," she said, talking about her sister, Katherine.

Nadja winked at her with a small smile. "Thank you," she then leaned against a coffin she'd just noticed.

"What's your story?" Kol narrowed his eyes on her.

"How much time do you have?" Nadja retorted before chuckling. "Let me tell you. Once upon a time ..."

"Katerina Petrova's twin ... nobody realized," Rebekah sat next to Nadja.

After Nadja had told them who she was — keeping some things for herself — the three also briefly told who they really were. Between crazy parents and even crazier siblings, Nadja had found a family more off-kilter than hers.

Except she could clearly see that they loved each other — that they would die for each other.

Nadja shrugged at Rebekah's words. "After what she did, I learned to cloak myself pretty well."

"Understandably." Rebekah could really relate to the other girl. Changing the subject, Rebekah eyed Nadja's outfit. "I know we seem to be stuck here but your outfit ..."

Nadja chuckled. "I know," she didn't know how long she would be wherever they seemed to be so she'd just put on her pajamas.

It made for a pretty funny picture.

Three people with period clothes on while Nadja wore a large shirt with sleeping shorts on.

It didn't stop Nadja from getting to know the siblings though.

For the first time in a long while, Nadja felt alive. She felt understood. She felt great.

"A flower for a beautiful lady."

Turning from where she'd been studying one of their coffins, Nadja came face to face with Finn.

Pleasantly surprised, Nadja took the flower he was offering, bringing it to her nose.

"Gentleman," Nadja smiled. "I like that."

"I can be one too ... if you wish," Kol joined them, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Or I can be your handsome devil."

Her heart light, Nadja giggled. "Love, don't make promises you can't keep."

Kol took her hand and kissed the back of it, the whole time keeping her gaze captive. "I wouldn't dare."

Finn rolled his eyes on the side, a small smile on his face.

Nadja on the other side was stunned at herself. She'd just giggled ... her, giggling. Who knew she could even make that sound?

Besides, the hybrid wasn't one to easily fall for words, but here she was.

The trio was interrupted by Rebekah appearing at their side.

"There's nothing here," the blonde stated. "I've checked everywhere."

They were standing in a vast field Nadja suspected was inside her mind — a place she'd opened with the spell she'd found in Duke.

"We must be inside my mind," Nadja mused out loud. "The spell I cast was linked to your family, it was supposed to show me what is hidden."

Rebekah titled her head. "If the spell is linked to our family, shouldn't Nik and Elijah be here too?"

Kol shook his head. "I'm guessing you can only see the three of us because we're daggered."

Nadja lifted Kol's dagger, something flashing inside her eyes. "These daggers are quite interesting. Created to uphold the balance of nature ... interesting indeed."

Rebekah rolled her eyes. "They're annoying is what they are," she countered. "And once we're all out, I vote we teach Niklaus a lesson."

Kol eagerly lifted his hand. "I second that. Our brother needs to suffer a bit before I'm satisfied."

Finn, ever the gentleman, calmed down his younger siblings. "Niklaus did this for our own good. As long as father is after us, we will get no rest."

They had told Nadja their father, Mikael, had hunted them for nearly a thousand years now but they didn't tell her the reason.

Nadja had promised herself to help them — help this family. After all, they were the first people to truly get her in several centuries.

She just hoped this friendship could last.

A few hours later, Nadja was quietly talking with Finn — telling him little anecdotes of the outside world when she felt a pulling sensation in her mind.

She quickly stood up, attracting Kol and Rebekah's gaze to her.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm going ... I can feel it," Nadja eyed the siblings. "I'll study this spell once more," she was now rushing her words. "I'll make it a little smoother so we can often meet."

Kol rushed in front of her, a teasing glint in his eyes.

Nadja narrowed her eyes on the devil. "What?"

Taking her head in his hands, Kol leaned down, kissing the hell out of her.

Once her head was muddled — from the spell and the kiss — Kol leaned back with a smirk, "One for the road."

Nadja rolled her eyes, a smile on her lips nonetheless before she was pulled out of the field, waking up to her phone ringing.

Taking a deep breath in, Nadja stepped out of the pentagram and took her phone, seeing several missed texts, "Hello?"

"Nadja! Thank god!" Stefan's low voice was heard on the other end of the line. "Where were you? We've been trying to reach you for days."

Startled, Nadja looked at her phone, realizing she'd spent a few days inside her own mind.

"Sorry, there was an emergency out of town," Nadja lied. "What happened?"

"Katherine happened," Stefan replied. "Can you come over? We have a plan."

Well, then.
