Cure For The Demon King

"Because you are very beautiful and I want to see your beauty up close." Vincent murmured as he lifted his hand and brushed a few strands Quinn's hair behind her ear making her blush and move away from him.

"I see that you know your way around words."

He moved back from her and sat down on the bed beside her. "I am only being honest. It is late, do you want to sleep now or read more of your book?"

"I want to sleep, but should you not be at the other side of the bed so that we do not touch when we sleep?" She asked as she looked at him sitting close to her.

"Yes, but I want to sit close to you for a while. I can feel my powers becoming stronger and the curse weakening when I am near you." He glanced at her and she felt surprised at his words.

"Does the curse make you sick?" She asked as she faced him and scooted a little closer to him.

"No, it only weakens my powers which are a part of me. They are like my sense organs and I don't feel right when they are not working probably. But if it keeps weakening it, my health will be affected because I cannot use them anymore, and that could lead to death."

"I am so sorry to hear that. I wish I can make myself fall in love with you faster so that your powers will heal." She said sympathetically.

"Do not worry, Quinn. Everything has its time."

"Ah, I just remembered that a lady knocked on your door when you were attending to business earlier, but I didn't answer the door."

"Good, no one should know you are here until you come into the palace officially. Did the lady say anything when she knocked?"

"She said something about Queen Ellen sending her to serve you her apple pie. I am sure that she is the lady you told me that your step mother wants you to marry."

"Yes, she is because step mother is Queen Ellen."

"What is your mother's name?"

"Queen Mother Lena, but you are to address her as only Queen Mother."

"She has a unique name, I have never heard a name like that before."

"Yes, she does as some demons do." He glanced at her again, "We should sleep now, I have regained my energy and you need to rest."

"Okay, good night." She said as he stood up and made his way around the bed to the other side of it.

She moved closer to the edge of the bed and watched him as he laid down on his side facing her. Turning to the candle beside her bed and blew it off. Darkness enveloped the room and she laid down on the bed facing Vincent.

The next morning, she opened her eyes to see the sun shining through the windows which were not directly facing the bed. As she looked at the other side the bed, she saw that Vincent was not on the bed.

Sitting up, she looked around the room and saw him sitting at the table reading a book. He was dressed in a royal dark blue robe and his crown on his head.

He looked up when heard her sitting up, "Good morning, Quinn. How did you sleep?"

She yawned, stretching her arms up then letting them fall down. "Good morning, I slept very well, and I suppose you did as well."

"Yes, I slept excellently just like yesterday because you were beside me." He let out a small smile then nodded at the dress on the bed beside her that she noticed then. "This is the royal dress you are to wear today. After you have bathed and dressed, Cesar will take out of the palace and lead you to a royal carriage then you will enter the palace through the front gate as my bride."

"Alright." She answered as she stood up from the bed and picked up the light blue dress. It has long sleeves and it was designed beautifully.

After bathing and getting dressed in the dress, she walked out of the bathroom and stood in front of the table where Vincent was still sitting, reading his book. Cesar was standing at the door and bowed when he saw her. "Good morning, your Highness."

"Good morning, Cesar." She answered, and Vincent looked up from the book he was so engrossed in. He took in her dressing and smiled, "The dress looks great on you."

"Thank you."

"Cesar will take you back out now, and I will meet you when you enter the palace with mother and step mother. I will be going to let them know you are coming today." He stood up from the chair and made his way to the door.

"Okay, I understand." She also walked to the door where Cesar was standing. Cesar opened the door and stepped out, she did the same then Vincent followed closing the door behind him.

He nodded at her with a small smile on his lips before he turned around and walk in the left direction. "Your Highness, this way."

She took her eyes off of Vincent and turned to Cesar. He started walking in the opposite direction Vincent went. She followed him down the steps, across the courtyard and to the wall they used to enter into the palace the day before. He pressed his hand through the wall and his hand went through. He turned to her, "Follow me, do not look back."

She nodded as he turned back around and walked into the wall, she did as he did, and they soon came out on the other side. A different carriage than yesterday's was in front of them with a different coachman at the front. The carriage was obviously a royal carriage with the seal of a dove which was her kingdom's seal.

"The seal copied from your kingdom's instead of using the one here since that would make you look suspicious." Cesar explained as he walked to the carriage and opened the door for her.
